>> unfortunately i know how politicized the senior ranks of the department of defense have become under biden. wounded several americans early thursday morning eastern time. the defense of defense has a large legislative affairs. they're obviously tracking votes on the senate floor directly related to these kind of attacks sometimes exactly this attack. proxies against american positions yet, we were not notified of this attack that killed and wounded americans until 13 hours later. you cannot convince me under any circumstances that that wasn't a calculated effort to keep congress in the dark while we're voting on measures related to exactly this kind of tactic. that's bad what is really bad what they reveal about the failure to deter iran from these attacks, 83 times since joe biden has taken office iran or proxies has attacked american positions in the region we have only hit back four times. >> you don't think that -- i'm

sure you do. all related to the weakness in iran. all related to the weakness not arming ukraine. it's all related -- when you get hit 83 times. by the way they hit us, we hit them and then they hit us twice and we have done nothing. that is unbelievable and unfair to the 900 sitting there as sitting targets which by the way spotty radar in syria. the other thing that came to light yesterday is this china balloon. and the incompetence that was taking place while it flew over our country. listen to what general vander herk said to you guys about his communication or lack thereof with secretary of defense austin. >> the intel community made me aware on the 27. >> did you ever speak with secretary austin about this balloon. >> i spoke with secretary austin on the first of february. >> brian: wait a second. so this went days without the secretary of defense communicating about a chinese
4:26 am
spy balloon in our country? >> yeah, brian. both general van healthcare and secretary austin have stated they were aware of this balloon january 27th. general vanherck said he didn't communicate until january 1. he also acknowledged he had four aircraft in the air over the aleutian islands armed and ready to take down chinese spy balloon yet he did not get the order to do so. this is very similar to what you see in the middle east. when china and iran know that they can do things like target americans and will only retaliate four out of 83 times or that we won't take down a chinese spy balloon when we have a chance over our territorial waters and only emboldens them to act more aggressively to put more americans at risk to imperil our interest. what we need to do is stand up to these provocations and make it clear that there are lines we will not allow them to cross. >> brian: these are the keystone cops in charge. this is worse than we ever dreamed. lastly the russian took out our

drone, cost us millions of dollars. and you found out yesterday that we have now altered our flight path in order not to aggravate the russians? >> this is just a third example of the kind of apeople we are talking about, brian. i repeatedly asked secretary austin if we had changed the airspace in which we were flying the drones over the black sea. he repeatedly dodged the question. i take that as an admission that we have altered it. remember, secretary austin has also canceled multiple ballistic missile tests over the last year because he didn't want to provoke russia. they are known, scheduled far in advance. notified russia. every turn russia, iran, china, joe biden is scared of his own shadow. that weakness only he would boldens our adversaries and risks more provocative. >> brian: we have had secretary of defenses too bold and too experienced to take nil of this. he just seems to be totally incompetent general austin. we are all in trouble because of it.

nashville to neutralize the shooter as opposed to uvalde, which took 77 minutes. >> yeah. i think uvalde was an aberration. we can talk about that later. the cops in nashville did a tremendous job. there's no question about it. i didn't see any of them -- anybody hesitate at all in addition to the two police officers who have been recognized. there are other police officers there. as you said, i think the whole thing was done about three minutes based on their arrival and when the individual was shot. so, just outstanding work and, as you say, you know, you can't help but compare to uvalde. i understand that. it was a disaster and 21 people lost their lives. so, but this is what cops want to do. this is what they -- they sign up for.
4:34 am
they were there. they saved lives and it was just so impressive to me. and i compliment the nashville police department because they obviously trained, you know, this is of the theory that's now used since columbine and obviously underscored by uvalde. did you go to the shooting. you go to the gunfire. you have to act as quickly as possible. and that's what we saw on the video. if you look at the front door when you have officer englebert. he says three. he wants three more people. they don't have to be from the same unit. they are not looking for unit integrity or whatever. he just wants to get cops in the building to react as quickly as possible that's what they did. really outstanding, professional police work. >> ainsley: we thank those officers who stormed the school.
