>> todd: a fox news alert, a massive emergency response right now near fort campbell in kentucky, the army reporting several casualties after two black hawk helicopter crash during a training mission overnight. you are watching "fox and friends first," i'm todd piro. >> ashley: i'm ashley strohmier in for carley shimkus. lucas tomlinson is live in washington with everything we need to know right now, good morning. >> lucas: 101st airborne division says two black hawk helicopter crashed last night resulting in several casualties. the army did not specify house minority leader. the apparent collision took place in kentucky. black hawk helicopter are

primary transport helicopter, they are also used in special operations. the two black hawk helicopter were conducting training exercise 10 p.m. last night when the crashes occur. status of all crew members is unknown at this time. the crash is under investigation. emergency medical personnel have responded to the crash site, including east golden pond fire department. the crash is between bobby light and lan caster road. kentucky governor releasing the following statement on twitter. we have tough news out of fort campbell with early reports of helicopter crash and fatalities. officials are responding and we'll share more information when available. please pray for all those affected. press conference is scheduled for 10 a.m.

people looks that up, it makes clear, you cannot intimidate or protest on the lawn or near a home of a judge or justice. when that draft of the dobbs opinion, which reversed roe came out, the groups were in front of the justices homes, there was attempt on the life of one conservative justice. it reveals that the attorney general was delinquent in not directing himself to protect the justices. i see it as fitting into a pattern. this is a justice department which needs a deep dive and perhaps this attorney general's tenure needs to be examed. they intimidate and arrest pro-life protesters, they did not deploy people to affirmatively arrest protesters

there. they have fbi memos that they consider catholic churches a source of extremism. it is anti-conservative bias in this justice department, that is to say the justice department has been politicized, is that a basis for oversight? you bet it is. you have to be able to prosecute the prosecutors if they step off the reservation. >> todd: the ag seems surprised when grilled on this. take a listen. >> as you can see on the slide behind me, the marshals were told to avoid criminal enforcement action involving the protester. >> i've never seen those slides before, first and principle job is to protect lives and property of the members of the court. >> it is clear the marshals were given a different directive and i ask you to look into that, please. >> clear conservative bias.

is this a cover-up by the ag or per that discussion, does the ag not know what is going on in his own department? >> you have asked a pointed question, i ran the house oversight committee and we had jurisdiction overthe justice department. the follow-up is mr. attorney general, we know where your politics are, you were examined as potential supreme court justice, we know what you said previously and anti-conservative bias. did you know about this or did you not? if you didn't, it looks to be issue of competence. if you did, why are you telling us you didn't? in the end, this is one of a dozen situations where this attorney general is more motivated by politics than fair administration of law, which is what he has been sworn to do,

>> before we get going, can i commend the national police for response on monday, what they did is reflection of what we do and the training, after uvalde disaster last year this exemplifies the best of law enforcement and i want to shout out to them and prayers and thoughts to the victim's families, these officers saved innumerable lives, we don't know house minority leader. >> ashley: they did and were swift about it. going back to what you are dealing with in new york, i have to clarify something, it said you have 13 deputies covering 500 square miles, is that 13 deputies at every shift or just all you have in your department? >> we have 20 on the road patrol side, 120 employees, 20 on road patrol, down to 13. we have continued to lose people who are getting recruited by larger agencies who have better

pay and benefits and this is happening across the country. a lot is based on the last three years of the defund the police movement, changes, battering by many in the media and politicians who are woke and the defund movements and things like that. it is taking a toll across the board. it is making it not as desirable as in the past. in the rural areas we never have a problem recruiting people. it is just retaining them and i frankly think the federal government should do more in the line of funding local law enforcement so we have more funds available. >> ashley: i have a question, what are your deputies saying about this? obviously they are overworked, what do they say about the situation? >> we've got -- three people on shift where we used to have

five. we had an incident where an officer while arresting a felon from texas and a civilian stop. deputies are going into negotiation and i can't talk about that, this is example of shortages across the board, correction, dispatchers and law enforcement has been bombarded with the negative and not the positive and that is hurting, the benefit and private sector are far outweighing public sector that used to be a pension in things. my deputies are pullings their weight, working their day off, working vacation days, many have done extra detail, we have a handful of deputies that come to fill in. when you have 33,000 people, it is a stretch thin. >> ashley: that is a lot, a ton. what did the community say? this was a facebook post. were they concerned? >> the facebook post has gotten

over 25,000 views, which is a lot for a county our size. the public is supportive and thinks the sheriff department and they think deputies make as much as troopers, which is not true. we have good working relationship with other departments that help us. they see deputies out. again, it is not just road deputies, it is dispatch and across the board, everyone is feeling the crunch. we have to do something to get the respect back and honor of serving without threat. >> ashley: it will take more than your community, our community here across the nation, it will take a nationwide efrt effort to get people who want to do the job. no one wants to do it. sheriff, thank you for your time this morning. >> thank you, ashley. >> ashley: of course.

arkansas is now suing tiktok and meta for exposing children to damaging content. >> todd: attorney general tim griffin here to layout his case. >> ashley: brooke singman joins us now. >> brooke: former missouri attorney general now senator eric schmitt preparing to testify on what he calls largest operation to censure speech in recent history led by the biden administration. eric schmitt will testify before the ag of missouri, the three witnesses will discuss findings of the censorship lawsuit against the biden administration. i received eric schmitt's prepared testimony. he is prepared to say collusion with nongovernmental organizations to censure speech was far more pervasive and destructive than ever known. louisiana ag jeff landry will say they uncovered censorship enterprise. some agents being the white house itself, the cdc, the fbi, cyber security and

infrastructure and the national institutes of health. censuring information on the covid lab leak, hunter biden scandal and more, they have gathered depositions from officials like dr. fauci questioning him on the lab leak theory, efficacy of masks, vaccines and more and want to know why social media companies flagged posts questioning these topics. an fbi agent was deposed on the hunter biden laptop story and big tech in the presidential election. ag john sour is expected to explain why they want to get to the bottom of this. censorship inflicts lasting harm by impeding quest for truth in free marketplace of ideas. the subcommittee will meet on missouri versus biden at 9 a.m.

eastern time today. >> ashley: arkansas launching lawsuits against meta and tiktok for exploiting children. governor sarah huckabee sanders says it is time to hold social media companies accountable. we have seen our depression, our anxiety, our isolation numbers skyrocket over the last several years due to the number of kids that are engaged on social media. we can't count on joe biden and his buddies in silicon valley to get accountable. we are taking action into our own hands in arkansas. >> todd: attorney general tim griffin joins us now, what is the crux of your suits? >> the unifying theme of the three lawsuits, we have one lawsuit against meta and two against tiktok and bytedance. one unifying theme is deception. ultimately parents have the

responsibility for their children and what their children are viewing, but the problem here is you have meta and tiktok producing, developing algorithms and products and being appalling about what the products do and what their intent is. the suit about meta is about the algorithms, addictive algorithms that they utilize. they have denied they do that. they have denied they intentionally develop these, they told congress they did not. we believe and the lawsuit makes it clear this is deception, they know just the opposite and we are seeing the impact of these apps on our young people as governor sanders mentioned. we have two lawsuits against tiktok and bytedance. one is about the fact that

tiktok represents that their product does not expose our young children, 13 year olds, for example, to inappropriate content, sexual content, drug abuse, alcohol abuse, the fact is it does and you can access it pretty much regardless of age. that is deception again and thirdly on the china connection tiktok has made clear that china, that the chinese government cannot have access to the data, arkansas data, your data, but the truth is just the opposite and so deception is really the key of all three of these lawsuits. >> ashley: you know, what are you hoping to gain from this lawsuit? what does accountability look like? is it as far as getting it

banned, what is it? >> well, there are several different forms of relief we're seeking here. we're certainly seeking monetary damages and we're also seeking an an injuncturion. end of the day and we have arkansas appalling trade practices act that we use in many different areas to protect consumers, but ultimately, this is about a company in the market telling the truth as opposed to deceiving consumers as to the effects of the product. a parent can't do what they ought to do regarding a product if the company is telling them something that is false about that product. >> todd: meta global head of

safety releasing a statement, we want to reassure every parent we have their interest at heart in the work we are doing to provide teens with safe experiences online. these are complex issues, but we will continue working with parents, experts and regulators such as state attorneys general to develop new policies that meet needs of teens and their families. i feel like we have seen that statement coming from companies like meta for a while now and nothing is done. do you think your suit will pressure meta and other social media companies to change? >> well, yes, i do, actually. the lawsuit against meta is the first of its kind by a state in the country and at the end of the day, words are well and good. you could have drafted that statement yourself based on what you think they might say without ever asking them.

away. law enforcement has massive setup while they investigate what is happening. just to map out where we are for this guy here, this is kentucky and it is about an hour and 20 minutes northwest of nashville. fort campbell is where the helicopters are from, that is 40 miles from here. wkdz, a local radio station is reporting multiple deaths involved, we're still working to confirm exactly house minority leader from the military. you can see in the video, there is debris left of the two black hawk helicopter. all of this took place during a routine training mission, now kentucky state police tell us they crashed in a nearby field. no other people and residents were hit. still working to figure out what is happening. this morning, we've been seeing military vehicles, law

he think it's just going to go away or maybe the press will quit covering it. but it's constant and rampant. the first solution is to admit you have got a problem. they obviously don't admit they have a problem. my heart goes out to the people of d.c. the hard-working folks who have lived here. a lot of them have lived here their whole lives. you see the very brave members of the police community that put their life on the line every dadgum day. it seems like they have no backing in their union. he was at complete odds. you could read the body language in the room, he was not happy with those folks, and he shouldn't be. i know many of the metro police officers and they're some of the finest people i have ever met and they deserve better. >> todd: the fact that anyone can sit there with a straight face and say soft on crime policies do not it exacerbate crime is mind numbing and that's why you had the contrast in that hearing.

>> you are pushing for the release the of the nashville shooter's manifesto. we are told it is going to be made public a matter of when. are you okay with this delay? >> no, i'm not. i believe in transtransparency. the shooter is dead. the families need to know what was going on in the mindset of this person and frankly the country it does. a young lady transitioning, if you will, becoming transgendered. there is a mental issue there. i think that feeds a lot into how she was able to obtain firearms, if she was, in fact, mentally ill. i met with some democrats yesterday about the issue to see if we could find some common ground. and i hope we can; that this will never be repeated. as i stated in this country we are a sick nation. we are a sick nation. we need to repent and we need --

honestly, we need revival. it's made a lot of people mad that i have said that but it really is. there is no other answer for it. >> ashley: why is it making people mad? >> i think, you know, they come back to me and say burchett, look what your prayers have done for us the people doing the praying aren't ones doing the shooting, ma'am. it's a very unfortunate situation. i don't -- there is no easy answers. i don't know. you know, repenting of your sins and having some sort of reform in this country seems to me to be the way we're going to have to turn this thing around because we have some very sick, easel people doing some very vile things and revival seems to be the way go for me. i realize hatred towards me and my beliefs. and that's fine. it's america. we're allowed to do it but i do believe revival is the answer and i pray for it every day.
