in apparent disbelief former president trump confirmed on truth social he will be arriving in new york city later today quote, i'll be leaving mar-a-lago on monday at noon heading to trump tower in new york on tuesday morning going to, believe it or not, the courthouse. america was not supposed to be this way. trump will stay at his residence in trump tower tonight before his cars takes him to the courthouse four miles away tomorrow. metal barricades are up. some streets will be closed. all nypd personnel have been put on alert as the city gears up for possible protests. trump's legal team is considering asking the judge to move the case from manhattan to staten island for fear trump won't get a fair trial. trump's lawyers say they plan on challenging the legal merits of this case every step of the way, which could lead to months of delays.

the southern border. new video showing the border patrol catching groups of chinese migrants trying to illegally cross into the country as large groups of migrants just keep on coming. bill melugin is in eagle pass, texas with more as he begins a new week today. bill, good morning. >> bill, good morning. that's right. gop presidential candidate nikki haley will be touring the border today right here in eagle pass later this afternoon getting a chance to see one of the biggest hot spots along the border. new harrowing footage we want to show our viewers. look at this courtesy of one of our contacts. security visitor showing a small migrant child abandoned on a flotation device floating down the rio grande here in eagle pass completely alone. a texas national guard soldier sees what is happening. rushes to the edge of the river to help. after the video cuts off our contacts tell us that child was later rescued. you talk about the chinese nationals. look at this video our team shot

in the rio grande valley over the weekend. once again fox news witnessing the mass release of chinese nationals from federal custody at a parking garage in downtown brownsville. border patrol sources tell me the chinese nationals will be released on what are called ntaor. notice to appear on your own recognizance. released into the u.s. with a future court date. we saw more chinese nationals arrested at the border. look at these images in the rio grande valley in la jolla during the early morning hours over the weekend. a group of 12 being arrested after they crossed illegally. the numbers of chinese continue to skyrocket at the border . 1700 chinese nationals apprehended since october 1st. that represents a more than 900% increase over the same time last year. in the meantime, human smuggling remains rampant. look at this video given to us by texas dps showing troopers

years. i like the secretary actually. he is a smart and savvy person. his personal journey and professional career, he set himself up to be one of the best dhs secretaries. that being said i completely disagree with what he said. this is a crisis and ongoing for the last two years plus. the numbers and facts don't tell anything other than crisis. look, it is a mess. we need to clean it up and need to solve this problem. look, when you see what bill melugin just reported on, children being abandoned in the river. smugglers putting 50, 60 people in trucks, that's a crisis. people dying, fentanyl getting through and getting into our communities. that's the crisis. we can call it different names, whatever. we need to solve it and fix this problem because american people are suffering. >> aishah: geraldo, what did you make of his answer? >> i thought it was too cool for school, aishah.

define crisis as a time of intense difficult, trouble ordaininger, a time when a difficulty or important decision must be made. disaster, predicament, upheaval, queenedry. no one in the country would deny is the situation at the border. the cameras that fox news has been deploying the last year or so with our reporter at the helm. no room for argument. a couple million coming across without proper authorization. it will only get worse. i like mayokas. i appreciate the fact that he is the first immigrant to hold that job at the department of homeland security. but he has got to stop playing word games with congress folk who only want to score a sound bite for the evening news.

>> aishah: he is not alone. this administration plays a lot of games with words often. also in this interview mayokas said that while migration is up, it is not unique to the border. but the facts would disagree. let's look at some numbers here. this is the number of encounters on the terror watch list arrests at the southern border. we can see how they've shot up over the years under this administration. chris, why won't this administration at least admit that, that the border has changed, things have changed at the border over the years? >> well you are absolutely right. things have changed. stick to the facts. they don't lie. i have no idea why they are focused more on securing a narrative than the border. the stats you showed show there are people from places that want to do harm from this country. not everyone will do bad things.

they are out there and we need to get focused and get serious on this. it is ridiculous we can't be transparent with the american people what's happening and what are we doing to solve this? >> aishah: i want to ask you, geraldo. he says he won't step down. clearly the gop in the house have their sights on an impeachment. what is better, going through an impeachment or stepping down? >> all this impeachment baloney. all it does is bring no help at all to the southern border. we need a system. we need a wall. we need an appropriate order to deal with the fact that the world is on the move. there are millions of refugees south asia, africa, caribbean, the world is on the move. the united states must now be prepared for this part of the 21st century. >> aishah: thank you both for joining us this morning.

tornado survivors in arkansas starting to pick up the pieces after twisters devastated parts of the state again over the weekend. five killed in arkansas. the death toll more than 30 across the south and midwest. another round of severe weather will be on the way this week. we're in hard hit wynne, arkansas with what is happening today. >> more severe weather. not what folks here want to hear after a tornado devastated this community of 8,000 people, killing four here. this after a line of severe storms tore across the south and midwest late last week. 34 people toned and 76 tornadoes in 11 states between friday and saturday. thousands of flights canceled and delayed because of severe weather. little rock got hit with a tornado on friday with 165

handled this so far? >> well, the administration has put themselves in a really difficult position, bill. these are difficult circumstances when nation states grab american citizens under questionable circumstances. it happens in every administration. certainly not -- the biden administration is not dealing with something we didn't in the trump administration. having said that, bill, the biden administration put themselves in a difficult situation about how they handled the bright knee griner exchange in september. many said they were making a bad mistake by exchanging a merchant of death victor boot, responsible for hundreds of u.s. forces either losing their lives or being injured in exchange for an american citizen with essentially a misdemeanor amount of cannabis.

we said at the time this is a short-term feel-good publicity win in exchange for a long-term bad precedent and launch only encourage russian bad behavior in this regard. i think we're seeing that in connection with eve own gershkovitch. folks don't know, bill. one of his primary stories he covered for the "wall street journal" was britteny griner's detention, arrest and prosecution. so now if you look at this, essentially what the russians got was they gave up britteny griner but grabbed this reporter and got a massive arms dealer for nothing. i appreciate what secretary blinken is now trying to do in a phone call but he put himself in a very bad situation. the russians have not been held to account. there have been no consequences for their bad actions. shooting down an mq9 drone

and a new county supervisor's proposal would have courts and law enforcement release any suspect with bail at $50,000 or less. what does that mean? that includes folks who have been accused of burglary, assault, even domestic violence. william la jeunesse is live in los angeles with the latest on what is happening in that city. william. >> aishah, the men's central jail in l.a. is overcrowded. instead of fixing it or building a new one the solution here is to stop police from sending any new offenders to jail. the plan is called steps to depopulate and decarcerate la county jails. prohibits the sheriff and local police from putting behind bars any new offender or convict whose bail is set at $50,000 or below. if you commit any of the following offenseens, instead of getting arrested and booked to jail where you later see a judge, police are told to cite

for lsu both coming back next year. together they have put college women's basketball on a level where it has never been before. let's begin with that. >> look, caitlin clark is the steph curry of women's basketball. changing the game. pulling up and taking shots from everywhere. i've coached a lot of young basketball. i have three boys. it's interesting because there is a lot of talk about lebron james and his history and legacy. everybody wants to be steph curry. you can see it filtering throughout all of basketball if you watch caitlin clark play the way she handles the basketball she looks like steph curry. she is one of the most electric women's basketball players of all time. she set an all-time scoring record in the ncaa tournament and she can come back. at least one year, maybe two years. there is going to be a ton of attention on her as she returns.
