9:00 pm
tv ten years. [laughter] >> it's going to get weird so get tickets. there's a limited number of signed books available. >> there you go. we are out of time! thanks for molly hemingway our studio audience, i'll see you next week! i love you america! >> good evening, welcome to be fox news at night. i'm trace gallagher. former president donald trump is in new york city on the eve of his arrangement and in hours will turn himself in and become the first former or sitting president to be brought up on charges. nate is live outside trump tower. good evening. >> hey trace. just in the past hour we are learning the former president has pushed his schedule back and he will leave trump tower.
9:01 pm
at 1 p.m. as opposed to 11 a.m. tomorrow. he not come out after arriving here 4 p.m. he waved at supporters who were waiting for him. take a look at that moment as the motorcade pulled up. he walked in. that is where he will walk out as he's going down for processing and arraignment. he will be fingerprinting and mug shots but no handcuffs. how this shakes out for the former president remains to be seen. he quite literally is fighting for his freedom and political future at once but returns now are positive receiving widespread support from the republican party including from people expected to run against him in the 2024 primary governor
9:02 pm
ron desantis one of them and his campaign raised $8 million since his indictment on thursday so the arraignment is set for 2:15 tomorrow expected to last about a half hour so the former president sometime around 3:00 is expected to go to the airport and fly back to florida where he is expected to make a speech at mar-a-lago tomorrow night. >> we will talk about those 30 minutes. nate thank you. nypd commissioner is urging people to take public transportation tomorrow amid heightened security. however you get in and out of manhattan won't be easy. jackie is in the middle of the madness. >> new york city has ramped up
9:03 pm
security before the trump arran arraignment. >> new york city is always ready. we know that this city where our in my p.d. and other law enforcement entities must be prepared any given moment for something to happen. while there may be rabble rousers, the message is control yourself. >> barricades around trump tower blocked roads near manhattan, criminal courthouse in case of protest. nypd commissioner said new yorkers may see increased police presence in parts of the city and expect road closures mainly
9:04 pm
in manhattan urging the use of public transit. marjorie taylor green plans a protest, mayor adams said he went to allow vandalism and if anyone is caught in violence they'll be arrested. the commissioner says there are no credible threats to the city at this time. trace. >> jackie thank you. let's bring in republican congresswoman from new york claudia tenney. thank you for coming on. "newsweek" wrote this. i want to see you what think about quoting trump's indictment saying it's a blunder of historic proportions also saying there's little doubt that news of it will be met with jubilation on the left. the reality left and right united states and suffer the consequences of this blunder of
9:05 pm
historic proportion. it does seem we are on an odd road. >> we know this is malicious prosecution, alvin bragg did this fulfilling a campaign promise. imagine that. president trump made and kept his promises when he was president of the united states including my first term when president trump was president republicans in the house and the republicans controlled the senate as well. so, i don't know. i have mixed feelings about. this i think that comes out of every legal proceeding is going to be scrutinized to a ridiculous proceed portion like when president trump was running before and became president. i think there's a concern especially on the republican side there could be somewhat of
9:06 pm
this fatigue on media coverage and people could be looking away and to other candidates on the republican side and i think democrats are going to continue to be hysterical. >> you talk about the legal proceedings, former attorney general bill barr said this. i'll get your take. >> it appears to be. i think the american people see that it's the very essence of the abuse of the prosecuting function, which is pursuing a person rather than pursuing a crime. >> going back to the old saying, show me the man i'll show you the crime. >> josef stalin this would be ideal in his world. i served in the legislature under nancy pelosi. you say this played out by alvin bragg and others across the country. democrats are trying to attack anyone who brings up soros but
9:07 pm
there's a playbook sent to outside groups to funnel money to make sure they live by that playbook. they have a media source where you learn how to be a soros prosecutor. these people are looking to undermine our institutions and it's going to be interesting to see how much the american people get disgusted with this. >> new york congresswoman claudia tenney thank you. >> it looks like pvsh is in no hurry to announce whether he will run for reelection. kevin is live. >> evening, trace. for months we have been told that a decision from president biden to launch his reelection campaign would come early this year. >> expected shortly after the holidays. but, i expect the decision will be to do it.
9:08 pm
>> my guess is early next year we make that choice. but my plan to do it now. >> uh-huh. that was then, this is now. in fact at this point last cycle liz warren bernie sanders kamala harris had thrown in their hats into the ring but four months into this year there's new reporting that mr. biden is in no rush to launch his 2024 bid. axios reports an announcement could come in july or perhaps this fall. wow. now one of the reasons they say for the delay is you know, building a multi-billion dollar campaign apparatus. this time around they expect the campaign to be larger more expensive which means they need
9:09 pm
to raise more money. in the meantime as the president waits he is hitting the road pushing his economic agenda. if he waits to july that's to whittle the field. >> that's the strategy i believe possibly at work. >> kevin cork thank you. america first policy chief communications officer mark lauder. i'm picking up where kevin left off there. do you think it's possible joe biden could wait until july or maybe not even run at all? >> well i think if he's not going to run at all he has to let the democrat party know he's not running because to kevin's
9:10 pm
point it takes time to build a campaign. what he's basically doing is freezing the field and no other democrat can attempt to get in or tease getting in until he makes his announcement or looks disrespectful in the party so he's basically frozen his opponents and even if his poll numbers continue to crater and the economy gets worse no one is going to have the time or resources to challenge him. >> when you say freeze the field, you think that's a good strategy or questionable? >> i think in his case it's a good strategy because the economic numbers are not going to be getting better. they're going to be getting worse. we are hearing reports of $4 gas coming this spring and summer so his bad poll numbers are going to get worse. there's going to be talk about when he should run or not but this would keep people out of the field. they don't have to organize hire staff or raise funds for the $2
9:11 pm
billion to run. >> when you saw $4 gas where you are, we mean $7 here. jason miller tweeted about the trump indictment. this means that four days after manhattan entered the latest phase of their witch hunt the president has raised $8 million. his numbers are rising and i don't mean poll numbers. his dollar numbers are rising. >> there's nobody better than the trump team capitalizing on the news of the day and monetizing it. they're going to show support with him and small dollar donations the $25-50 people will see he is being targeted again. they're going to see he's the focus of all the liberal anger
9:12 pm
and hatred in this country and they're going to want to step up and show their support. >> this is former ambassador john bolton talking about trump's popularity with this indictment. >> i'm not worried about alvin bragg hurting donald trump. i'm worried about him benefitting trump. if trump is acquitted that will be rocket fuel. >> brings our conversation to the top where it's looking more like this could be trump-biden ii. >> that's what it looks like now. we are 8 months away from the first voting taking place build all signs point to the president getting stronger. since word of this expected indictment and now it's upon us came about three weeks ago his poll numbers his margin has increased over the republican primary field and none of his opponents or expected opponents
9:13 pm
are attacking him on it. the tea leaves say this is weaponization of government and you have to stay in lock step with the party against the radical left. >> thank you. >> thank you trace. >> jury selection underway in idaho for the so-called doomsday mom accused of killing her children a 17 and 16 yoebld prosecutors say laurie conspired with her husband after the couple allegedly claimed the kids became zombies. the one time chief of staff to former maryland governor larry hogan shot and killed by the fbi, roy mcgrath wanted on fraud charges tracked down we know at

9:15 pm
by the shooter who killed three children and adults at a nashville christian school. the chief correspondent jonathan hunt is live. >> there is a lot of detail here. 152 rounds were fired by the shooter, months of planning went into the attack and no motive has been found yet. those were the take-aways from the latest police information on the covenant school shooting released as hundreds of nashville school children protested at the tennessee capitol calling for more on gun control. miss b police continued to be review writings by 2-year-old allry hale saying she planned it in detail and considered the actions of other mass murderers.
9:16 pm
three nine-year-old children were killed by evelyn dieckhaus hallie scruggs and others before the police officers killed the shooter. tennessee governor lee unveiled a proposal monday to allocate funding to boost mental health resources in the state to increase school building security and pay for an armed school resource officer in every public school. >> with this funding we are taking the burden off of teachers in schools and districts. there's no excuse to not have a guard at every school. >> and the governor appeared to acknowledge that those measures alone won't solve the problem of school shootings s, saying, quo. >> no word after manifesto. >> no.
9:17 pm
they're analyzing these writings but not giving anything definitive about a motive. it does seem strange when indicated they believe they have that. >> jonathan thank you. with more on the increasing attacks on christianity, sean carney. we have gone through this the past several months the catholic church attacked in the hundreds, you talk about saying thoughts and prayers are offensive to some, and now appears that christians are now being targeted. your thoughts on this. >> yeah, it you'd to be a disgrace when you target a group of any americans for their race or religion but now there are many in the media people at nbc and the government who think it's completely acceptable to be anti-christian to be anti-catholic. we have never seen a shooter get sympathy. we have never seen anyone who stuck a gun barrel in the face
9:18 pm
of a nine-year-old and pulled the trigger somehow come out and they're not talking about that. it's a shame they won't release what's in the manifesto but the shooter was trans, they're protecting that, it doesn't go with the narrative and it's in. >> and just going back i want to touch on that but i think it's interesting hear sean because you talk about a country that was founded on religious freedom all the way through covid religious freedom is under attack. >> we came here for religious freedom. now to be christian to be take it halfway seriously you're being targeted. we see it with the doj the anti-catholic sentiment the fact that some have suggested these children deserved it because of
9:19 pm
their christian faith. there have been 300 attacks on catholic churches since may 2020. there have been 100 attacks on pro-life groups since the supreme court over turned roe v. wade. the difference is it's being encouraged by many in the media. >> nbc released and article highlighting the struggles of the trans community. everybody is asking who exactly are the victims here. about 15 second left. >> yes, they didn't do that for the christian schools. they didn't talk to parents of victims. they didn't go to nashville. the trans movement is forcing themselves to go in different bathrooms with our children and forcing so many things on our
9:20 pm
schools and somehow christians are not the victims even when there's a shooting. it's madness. >> sean thank you for coming on. >> thank you trace. >> the red cross standing by to help residents in southern and midwestern states hit by deadly tornadoes and storms. the number of those in need remains very high. it's growing and fox corporation has partnered with red cross disaster teams and if you would like to donate scan the qr code on your screen or go to red cross.org. you think los angeles has a crime problem now, l.a. county supervisors have a proposal that would depop late jails, freedom for criminals. but you won't believe who is pushing back on that

news of this proposal leaked out on sunday and after intense coverage this morning, the bill sponsors pulled the mesh pressure tomorrow's agenda because of backlash beer told from police and the public. trace. >> william thank you. meantime the fox news common sense department is appalled that be los angeles county supervisors are trying to be pass a measure to allow violent criminals to remain on the streets but more concerning is they were trying to pass it on the down low, the proposal is ten pages a lot of words to say the jails are closed but in those ten pages there is only one public comment n. other words, nobody knew about this plan. the supervisors were trying to sneak this into tomorrow night's agenda where it likely would have passed. now it's a good bet the l.a. times knew about it but the times doesn't have a history of

kind of weird political prosecution means for the long-term. we look at this and say it's easy to politicize and the truth is it's been easy for a while but no one has taken that step forward in this kind of way because i think deep down they knew the implications. but when your goal is to dismantle the system why wouldn't you take advantage in this way? you're going after a political enemy. you're going after the republican nominee at this point the leading contender for the nomination. this is clearly political and they're doing it in a bay that guarantees nearly he's going to be acquitted because this is the weakest case and now you've given him ammunition to play the victim. >> thank you. >> thanks trace. >> breaking news into fox news u.s. military says it's eliminated a leader of isis, saying its forces conducted
