>> martha: it's interesting, because when you look at these other potential candidates and some are ready in the race and nikki haley had a couple of other candidates and ron desantis who is not declared -- ron desantis try to make a mention of the underlying behavior and character issues that he thought should be part of the conversation. and it doesn't seem to have gone him anywhere. he seems to have slipped in the polls. >> well, i think it's the same slipping in the pool is that we're a tribal moment in american politics. and if you attack the leader of our child we are going to rally around him. and so, president trump the leader of the republican party until -- if he's under attack and delete my republicans were rally under around him. but i would be a little bit nervous as i was him. if you have 1 out of 6 republicans saying if they had in the abc polls that he sit up in charge. and you have another 20 semi percent they said they don't know if whether or not he should

be charged or not i would suspect that there's a lot of people are among the 20% they say they don't know who really do know i think that he should have been charged. but do not want to say so. doing an anonymous poll, but it's not good if you're facing a 2024 election in which he faced the possibility of one out of every six republicans saying yes, they should've charged them on hush money payments. and just over a majority saying that they shouldn't have. >> bill: it's ironic that they say that without having seen the charges. >> martha: but that's where we are. >> one more thing here carl, this date indictment strength and democracy this is interesting because 31% say yes, and 31 says his weekends. i think the answer is to be determined. because you think about bill clinton in the late 90s, and he eventually beat the rap in the senate and went out to have a successful political career. but we've been given more news for the last need for a lot of politicos that suggest the downed alliance that das across the country will go after

in this one state of wisconsin. voters was deciding between two candidates on the open state supreme court. right now, the court is 4-3. but one is retiring a republican, which will make it 3-3. the outcome will have a major impact on big issues. the former governor eyes with announcer good new made to you. and we got a program today. tell us what you believe is on the line pending the outcome of this vote today. >> i'm being every reform we fought for, whether was the big uniforms, or changes in collective bargaining's, changes requiring a photo i.d., congressional district which could affect not just wisconsin but potentially could this be curious after the 22 to four election. a particular public safety in the state. and that george funded -- the candidate, she like so many of them out there and she's been weak on crime and the essence of a public safety conveyor line.

and it's gonna be a race for the conservative's had to be overwhelmingly outspent. >> bill: so here's what i'm seeing right now right republicans have majority of the state legislator, but the government is a graphic cat however -- you hold six of the eight congressional seats. and if a democrat wins, the state supreme court seat today, all these maps could be redrawn at some point. you right now in the state of wisconsin, abortion providers are not providing abortions. so how does that issue play? and what the outcome could of determining your view? >> were a couple different things on the district's thing, the reason why there are two democrats is because it is all over the nation. democrat votes are packed into big cities. but, is jennifer gets on the court she's getting it clear that she doesn't like the court. she sided with the extremely partisan view. in maps and those maps could be classic in the way we saw in the

civics as kids in the gerrymandering where it starts a little sliver in one part of a big city and goes all the way up to the suburbs. out to rural areas completely disconnected with communities of interest. they had that's how democrats historically would when it is radically redrawn maps. and that could potentially put one or two or three seats in play. and had a close race in 2024, effectively determine who the speaker is. >> bill: here at the democratic chair from wisconsin he's name is ben winkler believing here he is on sunday watch this. >> this is going to define the future of democracy and abortion access and politics in wisconsin which as you know is the tipping point space based in the high country. this could not be more significant of a fight. >> bill: "new york times" just a few days ago, the election could be the beginning of the end of scott walker's wisconsin legacy. so they give you a lot of props of breaking up the republican party in that state. we will drop boxes as of 2,022

are not allowed wisconsin. now, maybe it of us they went may be to change but what is your feeling that the statewide or nationwide on drop boxes? when you know based on 2020 election, then america votes differently now. should a republican party change its view on that? >> well, i'm going to go vote today as so many americans have historically voted on election day in person. i signed a law that required photo i.d. and i think -- i think it's part of integrity in a community interest as a cultural ritual that we go through. but we've pushed to the status conservative's or early voting. because it's legal because it's not, until the go back to a one day seem request and make sure that we use every legal -- and that is what's gonna happen in this race. but i think there's a lot of people like myself who prefer to vote on election day in person. so i can see my neighbors, they can see me. >> bill: okay.

but they may be others who find it inconvenient, and maybe this is just the trend that republicans need to get on board. i think it's an interesting topic into juvenile say something? >> i was just gonna say that we have unlike the last couple of years in this race for the court, after not tax the very first date, the early voting was made available and that's not happening something that happened in the past and wisconsin. so david has raised the fact that we have to compete with the radicals and the liberals and joe charles and then mark zuckerberg's and all these other people who are trying to use any means possible. we need to do it on the ethical basis and a people places but we are there to compete here and in every state when it comes to the election. it's been what civil watch the vote and see how it turns out and they did was cancel or change a thing of the day we shall see scott walker thank you for coming out. >> thank you bill. >> martha: so we have cameras and all of the relevant spots here this morning as we wait for the former president of the united states donald trump to leave his residence at
