analysis especially. i like going back to the law, it's where i'm comfortable. thanks for watching. remember it's always america now and forever. we'll keep posting tonight and tomorrow on instagram and yes on twitter. and, remember, fly your flag fox news alert, former president trump pleading guilty, of falsifying business records over hush money payments before the 2016 election. the new york post today wondering is that it and says bragg's historic case against trump falls flat. ashley, good morning, you are watching fox and friends on a business wednesday morning. >> the former president immediately taking to the podium to trash alvin bragg and his entire investigation, watch. >> i never thought anything like
1:01 am
this could happen in america. never thought it could happen. the only crime that i have committed is to fearlessly defend our nation against those who seek to destroy it. >> we are a nation in decline. and now these radical left luna particulars want to interfere with our elections by using law enforcement. we can't let that happen. >> the latest, good morning, brook. >> the indictment state states from trump orchestrated his catch and kill scheme through a eries of payments that we concealed through months of false business entries. the american media incorporated paid $30,000 to a former trump tower door man. those charges were related to hundreds of thousands of dollars in alleged hush money
1:02 am
payments made in 2016 weeks before the presidential election. nouman hat tan da alvin bragg was pressed on the timing of those allegations. >> your predecessor decided not to charge it. federal prosecutors took a hard look at this case and decided not to charge it. what lead you to decide to charge this, why now? >> as i just mentioned, we have had available to the office additional evidence that was not in the office's possession prior to my time here. we regularly do cases involving false statements, that's the charge of fraud falsifying new york state business records. >> trump who is facing up 136 years behind bars is calling the case a political persecution. >> this is a persecution not an investigation. it's cost hundreds of millions of dollars to defend. but our heads are held very very high. they want
1:03 am
to settle the case. but i went to no part of that. the criminal is the district attorney because he illegal leaked mass amounts of grand jury information. for which he should be prosecuted or at a minimum he should resign. >> this as the trump campaign revealed they've raised $10 million since the indictment was announced. and his attorneys say they are confident at that bragg's case won't hold water. >> even if michael cohen were telling the truth, even broken clock works twice a day. even if he were telling the truth, there is no fec violation and that is so vital in this case. there was no reporting obligation. you know what is really funny, when we talk about selective prosecution, this is very important. most reporting violations of campaign finance law are almost always never prosecuted as felonies, almost always never. normally given fines.
1:04 am
>> meantime congressional republicans say they want answers from bragg. house speaker kevin mccarthy i don't, causing the attorney attempt iting to interfere in our democratic process. >> alvin bragg entering questions in front of congress as soon as we can make it happen. this is unacceptable. >> use of fed i recall funds in this prosecution, we also know this grew out of the special council investigation and of course that statute is a federal statute. and maybe most importantly as everyone understands this is election interference. everything is on the table. >> president trump's next hearing date is scheduled for december 4th. the trial, if there is one, could begin in january right at the start of the 2024 presidential primary season. todd. >> we are going to have a lot more on that coming up. we could spend these entire two hours of this show how wrong this indictment is and how it doesn't hold water legally. there is one
1:05 am
point i want to make i'm not hearing a lot of people talk about. read it, one date, year, 2017, not only does that not pass the statute of limitations, trump was in office at that point, he already was the president. so, any potential election interference, it doesn't matter. he was already in the office, a lot more on that brooke, thank you for the summary. with that, eric trump deend iing his father as the 2024 presidential campaign kicks into gear. >> they are doing this to persecute a guy in winning the republican nation by 35 points, they want to take him out of the race. they started this six years when they subpoena every single document, 11,000,000 documents from the trump organization, they don't find one thing. when they see how well my father idoing in the polls, america is failing on every single metric, they have weaponized the system. this is their plan, they are not even
1:06 am
discrete abo it, this is what the other party does. they weaponize the system, every institution that they can put their claws into. that's what they do. they will win using any methodology that they can. it's not about fair elections anymore, it's not about winning at the ballot box, it's using any method to gain an unfair advantage over your opponent, they put my father and our family threw hell, i am telling you the american look through it, they see it, they understand what the washington swamp is loud and clear. >> number of people are calling this potential end of democracy, at the white house president biden is laughing off the historic indictment, watch. >> the indictment of your predecessor politically div divisive? >> reporters also went head to head with white house press secretary kareem jean pierre on
1:07 am
the administration's silence. >> is he concerned at all a local da open up the possibility, set a precedent, that local da's that don't like former president biden could indict him? >> i am not going to comment from here. >> that you do not think anything happening in new york today is one of the top issues facing the country at the moment? >> that's your assessment. that's not my assessment. we are going to be mind full, these are on going cases. >> 500 cases involving americans whose freedom was at -- >> i hear you. i hear you, this is something that all of americans watch in real time, in real time. >> you called janua january 6th historic, it was absolutely historic. none of us had seen that before. nobody has seen this before either. >> so, it's not just fox news asking these questions. it's more people now. and the white house seemingly unable to answer
1:08 am
why they were able to comment on january 6th but can't comment on the former president's indictment. adviser to president trump and heritage foundation, victoria, thanks so much for being with us. i went to echo what we heard from eric trump moments ago. do you think that yesterday was an example of weaponizing the system? >> good morning, ashley. yes, i mean absolutely. i think we've seen democrats and bragg is an elected democrat highly politicizing our justice system to go after president trump. it's important to remember, it's not going to end with trump. it's going after everyone they disagree with. it's important for the former president to stand up and fight and point out what is going on here and none of us should stand for it. >> there are much bigger implications than just the here and now when it comes to the united states of america. this has world wide implications. so, victoria, can we ever ever
1:09 am
again lecture other countries about democracy and the rule of law after what we witnessed yesterday? >> well, absolutely, todd. i think we can. i mean i don't know that lecturing folks about democracy get us very far, we are seeing our democracy play out, we are going to have a chance in 2024 to exercise that democracy. but your point is an excellent one which this is being watched all around the world and the biden administration can pretend that they are stovepiping it. but make no mistake about it, chairman xi and president putin and the supreme lead in iran are watching us like hawks. >> you know, what did you make of the press conference, alvin bragg held shortly after this arraignment yesterday. was there anything that stood out to you more than others? >> the whole thing was detach from reality. i mean he not only failed to really make any of a
1:10 am
case against former president trump. he failed 34 times. i mean, there is no there there with this. and i think it really laid bear to the american people how their resources are being wasted, their time is being wasted. their security is being put in danger by this political witch hunt. and so i think he really exposed himself and the entire effort as in many ways an empty suit. >> you mentioned china and shall are i can't. i think that is the key follow-up here. don't spectacles like yesterday, toothlesd russia, their strategies to divide us both over and covert, that's how strategies are working, victoria. >> well, it's such a dangerous time, todd. i mean, we've had the revelations in the last 24, 36 hours that the administration knew when that chinese spy balloon drifted across our country for a week that it was sending sensitive data back to
1:11 am
beijing, they let it happen. then we have putin and the russians scooping up wall street journalist in russia and holding him hostage. they are emboldened, they are on the move, and our president is just laughing about it and running around telling us we are not spending more for easter when everybody knows that we are. hopefully at least the congress can start demanding some answers on this. and really alerting people to the dangers that we're facing. >> but what he is spending more on, we are going to be giving another $2.6 billion in military security aide to ukraine. switching gears a little more on that line. finland is the first country to join nato. dealing a major blow to vladimir putin's quest for power in the region. what does it mean for that area? >> well, in the abstract, finland and then sweden joining nato is a good thing for the reason you raised here, ashley,
1:12 am
we are asked for another $2.6 billion taking us well over $100 billion in aid to ukraine, which is not an area where the united states should be the top donor. this is essentially a european war. so, in large economies with significant militaries like sweden and finland formally joined nato, formally joined that effort that should be a good thing. i'm very concerned that this administration which seems to want to pivot away from these issues is not paying attention to the fact that finland has an extended border with russia. this is a potentially vulnerability. it can be a great strategic advantage to have them join us innate toe, we have to be paying attention to that and thinking about that increased threat. >> 800 miles. that is quite a border. i didn't realize it was that extensive, that is a lot of land to -- >> yeah it really is. thank you,

victoria coates. other fox alert, chicago has a new mayor, progressive brandon johnson over moderate democrat vallo, s. >> it's tough to be shocked by anything, this one came as a surprise to me. >> this was a surprise because you thought maybe voters would choose the more moderate candidate in this case, chicago's just elected a progressive democrat, cook county commissioner, replacing lori lightfoot after beating public schools chief paul vallos with 51% of the vote and vallos with 59. up 50% the past year. advocating for in creased taxes and social programs to combat it. here is what he had to say in his victory speech tuesday night. >> tonight is just the beginning. with our voices and our votes we have ushered in a
1:14 am
new chapter in the history of our city. >> to the chicagoans who did not vote for me. >> i care about you. i value you. and i want to hear from you. >> moderate democrat vallas cracking done on crime, gaining the enforcement of the city's police union. >> i ran for mayor to bring the city together. and it's cleared based on the results tonight the city is deeply divided. so, tonight, even though of course we believe every vote should be counted i called brandon johnson and told him i absolutely expect him to be the next mayor of chicago. >> former mayor, lori lightfoot applauding johnson's win, i congrat johnson on his victory this evening, i will continue to root for the city i call home and work toward equity and fairness in every neighborhood. johnson intends to focus on
1:15 am
issues like defunding the police and public schools. >> the former teacher battled lightfoot during the 2019 strike and plans to raise taxes on businesses all while crime goes up 117 murders so far this year. more than 2000 robberies, the city reporting more than motor vehicles up a staggering 133% from this time last year. and with a annually elited progressive mayor, it could be more of the same for the windy city, todd, ashley. >> that sound you hear is the calls at the u haul office, phones ringing off the hook. democrat backed circuit judge janet protasiewicz defeated dan kelly for a seat on the state's high court flipping the court from its conservative. this vote comes just as the court is expected to decide on a landmark case challenging the

state's abortion ban. and over in north carolina, democratic is set to switch political parties officially joining the gop, the state representative would give republicans a super majority in the state's legislature. representative is expected to make a formal announcement at 9:00 a.m. >> there is never a day we can take a day off from politic the. >> it will never happen. >> it used to be november tuesday on an even year. it's 365. president of stanford university promising to protect free speech, he has a blistering wakeup call for the woke law students who protested a conservative judge they invited to campus. we are going to tell you what he is saying this morning got milk? some forced to go with soy and nondairy all all fern testify, we called a mom in the international dairy association to explain what in the world is going on. don't go

1:24 am
giving as to why they want to cut this program, parts of it? >> it's stunning to us that they would do this, we've not had a good clear reason why they would cut a wic mom and children up to 3 gallons per month of milk. it just takes your breath away they would do this at this time before we are this abrupt change, we don't have a clear explanation. >> in that intro, they were talking about the science, what science are they talking about that is going to benefit fit he a the latest nutrition science healthy eating and bright futures, that milk had tons of nutrients and minerals especially for growing children. >> milk has 13 essential nutrients in it, ashley. this directly conflicts with the u.s. dietary guidelines which is encourages three servings a day of dairy. and 90% of americans
1:25 am
are not getting three servings a day. it's -- this is bad for nutrition, it's bad for ciw wic, there are 6,000,000 wic moms and children, this type of abrupt change will mean 20% will drop out of the program. a third say they are going to have to find additional income to buy dairy products. it is bad for the program. the program has lost about a million participants in the last five years, wic moms are on wic to purchase their dairy products. >> brittany, you are a wic participant, you have an l year old and 2 year old, how concerned are you about this? >> it's very concerning, my 2
1:26 am
year old still gets milk. mothers depend on. have to get it cut back that much is beyond me. i don't understand it. >> so what are you going to do. if there is cut backs that much, milk is so expensive, let's be real, but milk is so expensive, with are you going to do? are you going to pay out-of-pocket, cut it out? >> i mean, have you to pay out-of-pocket if you needed it. i mean, we all need it. so, drop the proposal. >> what do you think about that comment, michael, do you think there is any chance they would drop this proposal? is. >> well we are certainly urging them, i have respect for the people at usda they are wrong headed on this approach, ashley. we are urging them to drop this proposal. and we would say for anyone out there that is concerned about this, please call your representative and your one of your two u.s.

senators. let them know just how wrong headed this is. as you said, in the times of highest inflation we've had in over 40 years would you do this to the most vulnerable among us, 6,000,000 moms and children. it's unimaginable. it's stunning. it's breathtaking that they would do this at this time. >> there is no time to do this to take away from these moms and these kids. but now is especially not the time. brittany if you had one thing to say to this administration and usda, what would it be? >> to drop the proposal. it makes no sense. >> okay. i think i hear your little one in the background. i hope that they do not go through with this a lot of people need this and rely on this program. brittany and michael, thank you so much for your time. >> thank you for having us. >> of course. so now we are taking milk away from toddlers? >> what is going on? this is

a former president trump pleading not guilty. he is set to appear back in court in december, all this as prosecutors are requesting a trial date in january of next year which is right when the 2024 presidential primaries get under way. florida congressman, carlos, congressman, what possible reason could the prosecution have for literally targeting on the record that they want this trial to happen
1:34 am
in january of 2024, other than to interfere in the republican presidential primary? >> i have no other reason why they would put it so far in the future. i mean, they've got a great case, why not try it now? i'm sure -- i'm sure that the president can come up with a defense. find out what he is being charged with, it's nebulous these charges that, he was going to commit something by tying, by falsifying these business records again, that's sounds, look, it's unamerican, very dangerous, they are obviously interfering in the election. and that's not the country that i came here back in 1960. it's unfortunate in some respect, i left cuba. and it's again very very dangerous and very disturbing to me personally. >> and we've heard countless immigrants like yourself from countries where the rule of law not a big deal, let's say. so,
1:35 am
mall i can't we had a guest on. you are comparing to that is concerning. your colleague matt gaetz. >> this must look silly to americaning who are suggest struggling to make ends meet to pay for groceries and gas, the former president hauled forward, not on a felony but a misdemeanor in drag at best. i think that that says a lot more about the people bringing these charges than it does about donald trump, president trump has to pivot off to this to a place of vision and positivity and american drive. >> not to mention congressman, there was this line and i want to read it verbatim from da alvin bragg. he had the audacity to say we can't normalize serious criminal conduct as justification for bringing these charges. has he seen what new york city's become under his
1:36 am
watch? >> no, he is seeing it, this is what the woke left wants. they are destroying great american cities like new york. and now chicago. and so, you know, he knows what he is doing. he usually done grades felonies to misdemeanors. i don't know of any other instances where he has upgraded a misdemeanor to a felony. when you look at that it's obviously politically motivated. this is serious stuff. and it's really changing, you know, what we can -- what we look at as the american justice system which is justice for all and blindly. now it looks like the blindfolds have been taken off and if you're a republican, man, they are going to come after you. if you are a democrat you can do anything you want and get away with it. so, this is not good for the republic, not good at all, i'm disturbed by it, people should be disturb ited by it. and you know, again
1:37 am
i think the president and his team ought to ask for a, you know, to throw out these charges which are, i guess nobody knows what the charges are for god's sakes. and take it to a judge and let's get it over with. waiting it out for 8 months obviously to interfere with the political season, the primary season and again, that's just plain unamerican. >> there are the real big issues facing our country. you are meeting with the president of taiwan this morning. what's your main goal with this meeting, congressman? >> well, want to meet with president cy and strengthen our relations with taiwan. taiwan is a democratic country. they share, you know, our ideals and we need to make sure that she knows that we stand with taiwan. we want to strengthen our economic ties with taiwan, i'm sure we'll talk about security issues, there is no secret the
1:38 am
communist chinese party has eyes on taiwan, want to reunify taiwan to the main land and bring them under control like they've done to hong kong. so, no, we want to make sure that the president understands our relations and at least that there is a good bipartisan support for taiwan in the u.s. house of representatives. >> the threat from china is multifaceted. you are taking on one very important piece today. but we also have to keep this in mind, america's adversaries are taking advantage of trump. we are not paying attention to oh, wait, the value of our dollar being wiped out in front of our eyes. we are already see what china did with regard to russia, those countries collaborate to eliminate the dollar. brazil, russia, india, china, south africa, they are creating a new currency in an attempt to ditch
1:39 am
the dollar. have we even begin to contemplate here in our country the damage to america that will be done if the dollar is no longer the world's currency? >> i don't think we have and i don't think we've given it much attention and i don't think the biden administration is doing much about it. this whole thing with president trump up fortunately takes our eye away what is happening with the biden administration, southern border, prestige suffered during this administration. everybody now is talking about the trump issue. yeah, it's a very important issue, but we can't take our focus away from the other failure of the biden administration. we need to hammer on that every single day. we have to win in 2024. we must enhance our majority in the house. we have to take back the senate. and we gotta win the white house and it's to save america. look, i don't want to be that dramatic, it is, it is to save america, the america as
1:40 am
we know it. and so, again, you know this whole thing is just to distract us and yes, trying to get the president, the former president, but it's also to distract america from what is going on in america which is a disaster on all fronts. >> i don't know if we know what happened if the dollar became not the world currency. and it's scary. congressman gimenezappreciate you starting your day with us. virginia was murdered in washington friday by a fugitive with two warrants out for his arrest. christie was in her hotel room less than an hour before the suspected killer entered. he was found in the room by authorities with blood on his hands and clothing. after allegedly stabbing the victim more than 20 times. he has been charged with murder and is being held without bond. but residents are on high alert, the mayor

health despite being held at one of moscow's most notorious prisons. condemning his arrest and demanding his immediate release. the 31 year old maintains his innocence. saying he was never spying on the kremlin. farmers are panicking over a green energy boon be their backyards. all corporations are buying up massive amounts of land to install solar panels and over caking the local crop land. >> farmers are protesting these land grabs over fears they could bankrupt their farms. susan burns in calloway county, she joins us now, thank you forgetting up with us, good morning. >> good morning. how are you? >> i'm good. i'm from cole county. we used to own a farm so i know what you are talking about here. from anybody watching, calloway county is the largest county in the state of
1:50 am
missouri, on highway 54 and high -- it's all farmland, you are rarely going to see buildings or houses, if you it it's in the middle of the land, how has calloway county changed in the last ten years? >> well, it's really been in the last five years . solar companies have started coming into the northern part of calloway county, interstate 70. and leasing land in secret. so, they've had this land leased for at least four years before we found out that they were even planning to do anything. even our commissioners did not know about the land that was being leased by the solar companies. >> susan, what's your biggest worry? >> have many many big worries. the solar panels, i life on a century farm. so, i'm 130 years, my family is 130 years on this land. my grandchildren who also live on this place are seventh generation. so, this land is sacred to us. it's not land that i can move away from.
1:51 am
i'm the caretaker of this land and my children after me will be the same. across the road from us, will be 2300 acres of solar. and in the county total we have 8500 acres of solar being leased, another 2000 acres solar that is going on public utility on their land. 10,000 acres in the next two or three years. we also have. >> this is the tip of the iceberg, we see ourselves moving from an agriculture community to industrial community. >> is there any benefit to calloway county or the state of missouri at all with this? is. >> none of these solar companies are selling any of their energy to the state of missouri or to calloway county. it's all going to be piped out transmission
1:52 am
lines going to the east. >> converted to solar, what is this going to do with our nation's food supply. >> well, that's one of our biggest concerns is that the solar companies because of the ease being able to put solar on prime farmland because it's already cleared, that that's what they are taking over, they are not choosing to place the solar in industrial areas or in on land that is non-prime land, in the state of missouri land is ranked 1 to 8. the land they are putting them on in calloway county is ranked 2 to 5. we are in top half of the prime farmland classifications, we can grow twice as much food here as someone in another place that doesn't have prime farmland. and they are just taking this prime farmland away from us. we didn't believe it will ever ever be able to go back to being farmland. because the way that they process the land when they
1:53 am
get ready to do the solar panels and all of the chemicals that possibly leak into the land that will ruin it forever. over 15 different chemicals that the epa has classified as toxic inside these solar panels. >> you know, susan -- i don't mean to interrupt, you said that the reason -- one of the reasons that your son and his children would leave is because of their health and safety, is that what you're talking about with the chemicals? >> absolutely. the chemicals, if the panels are broken because the chemicals are dry chemicals and inside the panels. but if they are broken from wind or hail and we just had two inches of golf-ball sized hail in this area. just this week. and our houses are all full of holes. so, i mean it's going to be a major insurance problem. so, that kind of weather happens in
1:54 am
