in new york city by a jury who voted for bragg and voted for get trump, allen dershowitz said. he said it will be reversed on appeal he said that alvin bragg is going to be very popular. he will probably get reelected and win the case unless there is a change of venue. >> brian: or it's dismissed. >> ainsley: even here in new york people are talking about this. they are saying just like newt gingrich did. they might have just guaranteed that he will be the republican nominee. and. >> steve: that's right. >> ainsley: newt gingrich said even when mitt romney and jeb bush and others come out and say this is wrong, you are seeing sort of a consolidation of trump vs. a corrupt establishment. >> brian: i think there is a couple things going on. this case is a joke. there is nothing here. alvin bragg should just resign. he should be embarrassed. iif you even flip to other channels, no one can figure out what he is up to. >> ainsley: where is the second crime? >> brian: nobody can figure out what he is doing. it cost the city $200 million and cost another 200 million to

traded by 90% of the world's markets. the question is when france is in china right now. macron, is he going to ask for a deal there? the those bric countries formed their own country are they going to start trading on the yuan? that's going to be up for them. the best thing we can do is strengthen the dollar get our fiscal house together pursue other countries listen if you go and leave our currency there will be a price to pay for that we can't just sit there and watch. >> steve: well, i was just watching. we just put up a graphic and the top line was terrifying. it's not helpful. japan has begun importing oil from russia. >> brian: which is crazy. >> steve: it is crazy. you know, they are supposed to be -- listen, the way to get russia's attention is for there to be a united front. and we're doing it. we're not buying oil from russia. but suddenly one of our allies is not helping us. >> ainsley: we have all of these sanctions now. put sanctions on money.

>> steve: they don't work if everybody is not on the same page. >> ainsley: when you try to do a foreign transaction in russia. some of these banks that had to close, there are restrictions on them. they are not trading in the dollar anymore. that's why china has stepped. in a lot of that, too. because russia has to pay the price for what they have done to ukraine. >> brian: the japanese leader just visited with zelenskyy. now how they can start trading with russia who is inflicting all of this pain on the world. >> steve: it's cheaper. they are saving money. >> ainsley: it's just wrong. >> brian: it's flat out wrong. you can't have an alliance and throw in the street to save some money on oil. here is stuart varney. >> the chinese are trying to mussel in to the dollar's dominance with their own currency, the yuan. they made a little bit of progress oil trades between russia and china done in dollars. but that's just a minor incursion. at the moment, 90% of all the world's transactions are carried out in dollars. it is truly the dominant currency on the globe.

and its position is not being challenged. the threat from the dollar is that it's value goes down, our prices go up. if biden's economic poehlers move the dollar down, import prices go up and we all feel more pain from inflation. that's the problem with the dollar. not its dominance worldwide. >> steve: right. stuart, just perfectly set up what we want to tell you next. when the dollar value goes down, prices go up. so, fox news did a poll and we asked are you very or extremely concerned about what? the number one issue, 92% of parents say it's inflation. and it's higher prices. think about it, if you are a parent, you have got kids. you are not just buying stuff for yourself. you are buying stuff for your kid. and it's just gone up exponentially. >> brian: where is stormy

tsai. what did she say thee needs from the president of the united states. >> training, training, training. that was top line message. making sure that the partnership between the united states armed forces and the taiwan military is strong. she needs to make sure that not only her active forces are trained but that her reserve forces are ready to go should there ever be any action from china on taiwan. we are willing and ready to assist in that area and make sure that the taiwan military is ready to respond should anything happen in the near future or in out lying years. >> steve: sure. senator, before u.s. lawmakers met with her, china put out an email from the chinese embassy in washington, emailed it out and said don't you dare meet with any -- with the taiwan leader to people like you. they said that china will most likely take necessary and resolute reactions in response to the unwanted situation they said.

and so what are they doing now? they are doing military trials around taiwan to send a message. they have got three aircraft carriers around taiwan and three is all they have got. in fact, one was launched a year ago, as you know, and it's still in the sea trials phase. >> right. we saw this same type of reaction when speaker pelosi had her visit to taiwan as well. we hear these threats coming from the communist party of china all the time. of course, they are angry about it. but president tsai has the ability to move freely and again they are good partners to the united states. and incredibly important as we look at the security of the endo pacific area and our trade routes. we understand her significance coming to the united states as

pronounced dead at the hospital do they have any descriptions of the suspects? do they have any other details? >> no. unfortunately, right now, there is no other details available. so, they are trying to look for more video prior that one showing him seeking help to backtrack his movements. but, those are precious moments that were wasted where that person probably in that vehicle could have helped him. >> steve: yeah. >> and therefore, he didn't. so unfortunately, he succumb to his injuries. >> steve: one of the giants in his tech industry tweeted horrific even if attackers are caught they are released immediately. is the city taking stronger action to incarcerate repeat violent offenders? so, and we have been talking about it. and you know, lieutenant, there is a soft on crime problem across this country right now. how bad is it in san francisco?

♪ >> ainsley: a legal trick victory for students suing the university of delaware over its shutdown of the campus during the covid pandemic. a judge is allowing those students' class action lawsuit to proceed. the students accuse the school of breach of contract since they were paying tuition to attend in person classes while the campus decided to close. the lawyer representing the delaware plaintiffs roy wiley joins us now. good morning to you, roy? >> good morning, ainsley. >> ainsley: victory for what you what are the students saying. >> we are very thankful for the judge recognizing the validity of these students' claims that

have paid thousands of dollars for the university for in person, on campus education and obviously they did not get that for the entirety of the spring 2020 semester and all of these students have ever wanted was just a fair prorated amount of the money that they prepaid back. and judge bebis ruling in our favor allows us to move forward and inch closer to getting the relief they sink. >> ainsley: it makes sense. a lot of these students are paying for school themselves. many are taking out loans. they paid all of that money and then they weren't getting the education. there were 17,000 under graduates at the time. and the school still got their tuition $160 million many of these schools have large endowments they have the money to pay the students back. in this case what's the situation here? will these students see their money? >> we believe that they will and several schools have already done the right thing. we have reached settlements with columbia university. university of pennsylvania and other schools across the country.

and hopefully this ruling from judge bebis will move the university of delaware and other schools closer to doing the right thing and giving these students some of their hard earned money back or, as you noted. the loan money that they took at, you know, high interest rates. so that is our hope and that is all that these students have ever wanted. >> ainsley: how many students are on this class action lawsuit? >> now that the class is certified. we represent all students that paid or through outside scholarships paid for any portion of that spring 2020 tuition. and so the only students that would be excluded from our class and representation are students that received a full ride from the university itself. because, obviously, those students would not have come out of pocket for any of the tuition payments. >> ainsley: maybe there is a compromise. at least give a students a portion of that money back. still have to run the facilities, if they're not
