way crime is being covered. really? we begin with the biden administration proposed new emission standards mandating that two-thirds of new cars sold within 10 years would be electric. the white house correspondent kevin corke is live with new information on that story. good evening. >> kevin: trace, good evening. it has been called the most aggressive emissions plan ever crafted by the biden administration and they say it is all part of this administration's sweeping climate agenda and obviously an overall effort to push more americans to buy electric vehicles. now, the vehicle pollution standards proposed by the epa will impact car models from 2027 through 2032. it is designed to protect public health. reduce carbon emissions of nearly 10 billion tons by 2055. it is also expected to according to them save consumers an average of 12 grand over the lifetime of the vehicle. but critics argue this is definitely short siding.

the first state in the nation can add a flat fee to electricity bills. so low income families will pay about $24 extra a month on top of their current electric bills and those who make more than $180,000 a year will pay $128 a month extra. the utility companies say it will put equity into utility rates. equity, of course, is always code for somebody is going to get the shaft. in this case, the shaft goes not just to the rich but to any family that is doing well. you know, at the top 10% of taxpayers. they already paid 90% of state taxes. and of course, utilities will have to be in cahoots with the state tax department to make sure that nobody is avoiding the tariff. right? it is also worth noting that california has no chance of powering 20 million electric vehicles without a new grid system. commonsense wonders who is going to pay for the new grid system? both. never mind.

former president trump is now suing his former lawyer michael cohen for more than $500 million. mr. trump is alleging a breach of the attorney-client relationship unjust enrichment and a whole bunch more. lauren blanchard is live with all of the allegations. good evening. >> reporter: former president donald trump us as michael cohen got rich off of running mr. trump reputation. he is suing his former lawyer and one-time fixer for more than half a billion dollars. according to this 30-page lawsuit filed today in a southern florida federal court, it accuses cohen of "multiple breaches of judiciary duty and breaches of contract. the spokesperson says the suit is intimidation and harassment. you will remember he is a key figure in the recent indictment by the manhattan district attorney against the former president. now, d.a. alvin bragg is filing a lawsuit against house judiciary committee chairman jim jordan to stop him from a former
