seattle. and i know what you are thinking, no, are no, no. they are not going to hand out meth pipes or needles to the drug addicts again. they already tried that it may actually have played a big part in the number of ods skyrocketing. imagine that. no, they have better idea this time. and for t that we turn to the seattle mayor. >> we will do what makes sense to get people into treatment. part of the program are low dollar gift cards as an example. but that is part of a philosophy to do the outreach and to develop the relationships so people realize they don't change their way, they will die. >> will: so, the city of seattle is planning on solving its homelessness and drug addiction crisis with gift cards. they're going to walk around these tent cities like oprah saying you get a card, you get a card. you get a card. in other words, of course they are going to throw money at the problem. that's what they always do.

getting about $320 a month in general relief cash and $200 a month in food stamps, and i immediately sold the food stamps for $100 cash. so that gives me $420 in cash and i spent it on drugs within about two days. when you can steal food and no consequences there is no point in using food stamp card to buy food you sell it for drug money. when you incentivize bad behavior which they are doing it's going to create more bad behavior and i'm an excrack head and i can figure that out. i don't understand how they can't figure it out. >> will: seems pretty clear. and wait until you get a load of the latest phenomenon. now people have been turning pallets of water into drug money. >> here's what is happening here. you get an oregon trail card. you go in and you buy a bottle of water. did you go out to the parking lot and you dump it on the ground. then you take your empty bottle, you take them into the store immediately to redeem for 10 cents apiece. then you buy drugs.

>> will: recycling water bottles for cash to turn into drugs. because when you are addicted, you will turn anything into drugs. and if i was a betting man, i would say turning gift cards in seattle will be a lot easier than turning water bottles into drugs. but democrats don't seem to really care about getting to the root of the problem because that takes a lot of real work. they would rather throw wads of cash at the problem just to say they are doing something. and this kind of system actually ends up rewarding addiction, just ask anyone on the streets and they will tell you. >> we don't have any assistance for people that are not drug users or alcoholics, if you come in here and splash some alcohol on you and put some on your bret, if do you that, then come back and tell us you are alcoholics. they will give you a place to

seattle. >> look, will, the video don't lie. that's what i sat few days. look, they are telling me they are deeply addicted and talked about the fentanyl and meth, right now another drug that's hitting the streets it's called thank fentanyl a combination of xylazine horse trannizer in fentanyl. leading to consequences like rotting skin and flesh that narcan can't reverse any of this. yet, the addicts are telling me they are so addicted they are still willing to take their chances with their life. >> will: would love for you to address some of the seattle, suburbs, wow the story they are telling about my city it be portland or seattle or los angeles on fox news is not the city i live in. what is the drew ii? where is this in seattle? is it concentrated? is it everywhere? is it these people who offer you this rebuttal or ensconced in rich suburbs, what is the

reality of where this is happening in seattle? >> well, unfortunately a lot of this is concentrated in the main downtown urban core. that's why this past week the mayor unveiled downtown activation plan and also signed an executive order to address the fentanyl crisis. look, the city is the main gateway for not only tourism but also the drug trade. the criminals, the addicts, and also the people's peddling the stuff know that they are riding the buses and trains back and forth. they are stealing items to sell on the streets for pennies on the dollar so they can buy the drugs again. where does that happen? in the cities. primarily, but, at the same time, it's happening in the outer ring suburbs as well. the homeless crisis, addiction crisis, nobody is immune from this right now. >> will: lastly, jonathan, we hear about the gift card program. what will happen with these gift cards? >> look, will, when i first heard about this i thought about game myification of addiction

every single one of us wants to believe that we're necessary. we not only want to believe that we ever necessary but that we are important it's unlikely you would know up tomorrow and say we think we got this garbage thing under control you don't need me to show up tomorrow. that's very doubtful. in the world of the government necessity and importance are measured in terms of budget. you need more budget to prove yourself justification. that's why last night on a clip on "tucker carlson tonight," when elon musk was asked whether or not he had ever seen evidence. whether or not he believed in the existence of aliens, it caught my attention. his answer caught my attention watcher. >> a lot of people ask me, you know. where are the aliens? i think if anyone would know about aliens on earth, it would probably me. i have seen no evidence of aliens. do you know what would really

the alcohol, tobacco and firearms agency had been given incredible jurisdiction and incredible weaponry that ultimately at some point would have to be justified and would have to be used. and that might have been exactly what we saw in for 51 days in 1d karesh and davidians held fbi and other law enforcement officers at bay. they raided the compound in waco, texas searching for illegal weapons. a gun fight erupts killing four atf agents and wounds 16 others. karesh is also injured. >> on day 51, attorney general janet reno had approved a plan to force the davidians out with tear gas. but the final salt on the compound became very aggressive and a fire erupted. >> that fire spread out of control leaving more than 80 men, women, and many, many

children dead. and their blood was on the hands of the federal government. what started as an arrest warrant for illegally altering guns turned into a full blown tragedy. rather than just knock on the door to serve their search warrant, the feds came in armed to the teeth. they came in hot. they came in flexing their muscle. the entire situation in waco, the seed was a culmination of two months of government failure and overreaction. the atf needed to justify the arsenal of weaponry, so they overreached. they needed to justify their mission, and so they looked for the right case. the fbi then came in hot, you would think we would learn our lesson from something like this. continuing pumping money into departments and into agencies that need to continue to show us then why we have given them all that money. but, no. we haven't. even when they turn that power against us, their own citizens.

the fbi is bigger and more powerful than ever. and it's justifying its existence now by targeting, for example, parents at school board meetings as domestic terrorists. they are labeling catholics as radicals and they even tried to hatch a plot to kidnap, to entrap others to kidnap the governor of michigan so they could then blame it on much wider con conservatives. so here we are 30 years after waco and we still haven't learned anything about giving this power and our money are, our resources, our funds to a government that in turn needs to use that power against its citizens. steve friend is a former fbi special agent and fbi whistleblower, and he joins me now. steve, thank you for being with me. when you see what happened 30 years ago in waco, there's a lot of disputes about who shot first and who started the fire. but, when you see the way this

entire situation was handled some 30 years later, what's your reaction? >> i think everything that happened there is derivative something we learned from scripture no man can serve two masters. in that situation the decisionmakers be they tackle, situational, administrative, they were trying to achieve a mission and make a splash. so, instead of doing something simple, best practices, maybe conducting an interview, doing some baseline investigative practices, instead they elected to use undercover surveillance, air assets and eventually hostage rescue team to bring this situation to an end and results of it show how tragic that can be. >> will: to be clear then what are those two masters you are referencing whether or not it be the agents, those in charge of the department at large, what are those two masters? >> well, the master that should be is achieving the mission and obeying the constitution, obeying the rule of law. but, instead, those individuals sought their own career

a senior irs whistleblower has reportedly told congress that they want to come forward and reveal a cover-up in the tax evasion case. although hunter wasn't specifically named, according to a letter from attorneys, the whistleblower has been overseeing the, quote, ongoing and sensitive investigation of a high profile controversial subject since early 2020. and is looking for guidance on how to lawfully expose preferential treatment and false testimony to congress by a senior political appointee. the "new york post" is saying a congressional source confirmed the complaint pertains to the first son. and the timeline matches up with hunter's tax investigation. we will keep you updated as this story develops. it was a great day in boston today and no, they didn't take down that ridiculous, you know, sculpture for mlk devoted to mlk the embrace. no, instead, a new democrat has officially entered of the race for president.
