this is true about the attorney general. >> big name to be dropped in this. and this irs special agent turned whistleblower does not have political agenda according to their lawyer. what they do have is information attorney mark lytle shows preferential treatment into the investigation of hunter biden's tax affairs. >> my client is a career law enforcement officer who is respected in the irs and teaches other agents how to properly do investigations. he knows when it spot when investigative steps aren't done in the traditional way to get at the truth. and he has spotted and observed things that are done differently in this particular matter and he believes they were influenced by politics. >> lytle says his client seeks to provide detiles republicans and democrats that would contradict sworn testimony to congress by a senior political appointee. that's how he put it. naming that employee as attorney general merrick garland who said this back on march 1st.
3:07 am
i promise to leave the matter of hunter biden in the hands of the district attorney of delaware. i have pledged not to interfere with that investigation and i have carried through on my pledge. >> that's what the whistleblower says they can disprove the white house dismissing the allegations stating this, quote: president biden has made clear that this matter would be handled independently by the justice department under the leadership of a u.s. attorney appointed by president trump free any political interference by the white house. as for the hunter biden laptop story of course we have to go there, too. of course a cia official has testified that secretary of state antony blinken who was then a biden campaign senior adviser played a role in the inspection. that was the letter that claims that the story was russian disinformation, steve, ainsley, brian? >> brian: wow, alex. i understand maybe you can get

clarity one of the quirks of the federal laws because he works for the irs, he needs congressional approval to fully come forward and describe in detail the allegations that he has already told his own lawyers. does he need a majority approval? who would deny him approval to speak out? >> yeah, that's a really good question on how many or how much authorization he would need from congress. but it's my understanding right now that this whistleblower hasn't been able to fully disclose the information he has even to their own attorney at this point. make sure get information to the legal tomorrow team to review it and bring it to the justice department and treasury department more fully. >> brian: thank you so much. this is unfolding. didn't take long for hunter biden's let's say unique attorneys. the ones that came out and want to sue the laptop repair person -- sorry for looking at you. sue the laptop repair person for letting go of the information on
3:09 am
hunter biden wants laptop while not fully realizes, perhaps, it was hunter biden's laptop and jonathan turley was one of the people that pointed that out. kind of an interesting thing. i'm sure the white house wasn't happy about that. now hunter's attorneys came out and said you are violating the irs agreement when you become an irs agent. you are not supposed to become somebody that talks about things publicly or even becomes a whistleblower. so it was a threat to the client and that was made clear last night that that was one of the fears that the whistleblower had of getting in personal legal trouble, steve. >> steve: so let's listen to jonathan turley right now talk about how serious this is it. >> it's extremely serious. there is obviously the allegation of perjury, it's also a crime to interfere with irs investigations. so these things do bring you into the criminal code. it's also important, as i keep on saying, that there is the secondary question as well.
3:10 am
whether or not there is evidence of crime. there is ample evidence of corruption. that's what influence peddling is. there is ample evidence of millions of dollars going to the biden family. congress has an equal interest in that. in fact, congress is the primary body to investigate that since the department of justice investigates crimes. so, there's a lot here that we have to unravel. what was ironic about the attack by hunter biden's counsel on whistleblower hunter biden recently called on the irs to investigate his critics. >> steve: yeah, exactly right. so, you know, now that we know, ainsley and brian, that merrick garland the attorney general sounds like he is the unnamed senior political appointee who essentially has talked to people about not going forward with the hunter biden investigation because according to this whistleblower, he has got
3:11 am
evidence that what our attorney general said is not true. we had mike turner on this show yesterday, and he was talking about, you know what? that could be on destruction. think about that. we don't know whether or not the bidens broke any laws in amassing their family fortune. but, think about this, this kind of has echos of waters gate. remember, it wasn't the crime. it was the cover-up. wouldn't that just be crazy, ainsley, if, as it turns out, the bidens didn't break any rules but somebody said something to the attorney general to make him think that hunter biden should not be prosecuted and they didn't go after him so the question is, what did the attorney general know, when did he know it, and if he got bad information, who gave the attorney general of the united states information, that, according to the whistleblower, is not true, ainsley. >> ainsley: the whistleblower is saying merrick garland didn't tell the truth when he talked to
3:12 am
congress in march, when he said the investigation is free from political interference. we heard the soundbite with garland saying he pledged not to interfere. how much did he know? did the information go all the way to the top? did he know this information? we want to hear from the whistleblower because he says he has proof that garland was lying to congress. also breaking, is the acting -- the former acting cia director mike morell. he was in sworn private testimony. he told the house judiciary committee about the hunter biden story. the post, the "new york post" released that hunter biden story. remember then a few days later. everyone is reporting that's russian disinformation. how did they find that out? why were they reporting that? he says in front of the house judiciary committee that antony blinken who is now ourselves at the time he was working for the biden campaign back in 2020. he said blinken gets in touch with him. and he says i need you -- i need to you help biden by organizing 50 colleagues to sign a letter in october of 2020, falsely

claiming that hunter's laptop story was russian disinformation. he said i wasn't planning on doing this but i organized the letter. he said over the next no days i gathered signatures from 51 foreigner intel jerusalem including john brennan and leon panetta we organized this letter. sent it to a specific reporter. politico published the letter on october 19th. the headline is hunter biden story is russian disinformation. >> brian: guess what happened two days later, the debate. that's what was so important to get it out before the debate. geles who looked into the camera and lied the future president of the united states 51 intel agents says it's russian disinformation. when we all know and he knew that was his son's laptop. you know that and he got it out ahead of time and mike morell said i wanted to make joe biden won the election. >> steve: now, after we have laid all that out, you know what? and this brings it all full circle, it sounds like somebody is in a pickle.
