apache helicopters collided in flight. two soldiers died at the scene. the third on the way to fairbanks hospital where a fourth is being treated right now. the crash happened near healey, alaska, a little more than 100 miles from their return destination of fort wayne wright. the commanding general of the 11th airborne division artic angels stated this. this is incredible loss for these soldier's families, fellow soldiers and for the division. the fort wayne wright community is one of the tightest communities i have seen in my 32 years of supervisors. i have no doubt they will pull together compensational time of need and provide comfort to the families of our fallen. we saw nine soldiers out of fort worth, kentucky they were killed when go blackhawks crashed during nighttime training exercise. the cause of yesterday's investigation is currently under investigation, guys. >> steve: alexandria a thank you very much. as the sun comes up, they will try to figure out more what went haywire. >> brian: no day to take for granted in the military.

we have some growth. we're at 1% now. but where were we? >> well, this is when you add trillions and trillions and trillions of dollars into the economy it's fun. think of this as a party, right? you go to the party, this is 10:00 p.m. 12:00, 1 p.m., 2:00 p.m. maybe too many tequilas, right? we had a recession that wasn't officially called a recession. by the way like 9 people nobody ever heard of whose time stamped officially. we have a little bit of a bounce. look at the trajectory, we are expecting i think almost everyone anticipates recession. the big question is how deep will it be? >> brian: before we change screens we were here coming out of the pandemic and no one was working. so what we did was printed a lot of money, correct? >> right. >> brian: we gave a lot of that money out. a lot of it was abused. a lot went to other nations. that's another story. but when you were here, you were telling us this is going to be a problem here. that's why we have the growth that we have right there. >> that's why we got the inflation spike.

so, it was absolutely amazing. by the way, when that happened, we have got 24 months in a row where real income, real wages are negative 24 nornts a row. >> brian: here 3.7%. that was the estimate. higher than we are used to because we got spoiled last 25 years inflation has not been a factor since george h.w. bush was in office. now 4.2%. how do people feel about that. >> everything you pay for. in the middle of earning season right now. astonishing to me how prices are going up everywhere, particularly food. these restaurants, chipotle, mcdonald's, all of them prices are through the roof. right now they can get away with it. people still have a little bit of cash out from the stimmies, maxing out credit cards have. a job but the job is not paying a lot. this is a path we don't want to be on. what we are barreling toward is what they call stagflation maybe worse. >> brian: every time the fed feels as though the economy is too hot they want to raise rates to tell us to go home and stop

spending. take a look at the interest rates and, charles, you want wanted this chart because you wanted us to see what happened here and predict what is happening there. >> this is where the fed raised rates like they are doing right now. we went to the global financial crisis. everybody remembers that it was ugly. >> it was deference stating. then, all all of a sudden we wet too far. start putting money back into the economy. hurry up. they tried to put it in. >> brian: is that quantitative easing. >> charles: that's quantitative easing. you know your terms. >> brian: printed the money and flooded it with the money worth less but didn't see the inflation yet. >> charles: all that cash came in from the fiscal side joe biden pumped trillions. in chicken in every pot a thousand dollars at home. spike inflation trying to beat it down. see where the chart peeked and came down we may see the same thing later this year. >> brian: here is what the layman is kind of freaked out about. commercial rae. after the pandemic a lot of

book out ethical machines, what do you think about having a machine essentially diagnose and then prescribe things for depression? >> so, one of the -- it's should be said that these things can do some pretty impressive things. the knowledge that these things have is the set of medical knowledge that we have. it's a therapist, endocrinologist. therapy. >> steve: it's everything. >> makes it phenomenally difficult to test. this thing can be used in a variety of context. think about the diversity of all the people that conservative age, gender, sex, political affiliation, socioeconomic background. other kinds of health factors, so there are so many different contexts in which they can get used and that makes it very difficult to test whether it's sufficiently safe. >> steve: sure. i think the average person would prefer to have a human figure out what's going haywire with them. we know now that these machines are actually in some cases more accurate than the human eye. >> yes.

it has its merits. in terms of early diagnosis and so forth. the treatment component when they are talking about the treatment component, they are talking about psycho pharmacological medication where they can identify on the data particular medication that will help the patient. the problem i have is that i believe we are completely and overmedicated society and i can see this becoming the beneficiary being the pharmaceutical companies, right? and research shows that, you know, holistic treatments for depression and anxiety are in many cases more effective than psycho pharmaceutical treatment. things like exercising. maintaining a healthy diet. maintaining a healthy weight. getting a good night's sleep and doing talk therapy when an actual therapist. >> steve: reid, the whole idea though that a machine would give you a diagnosis and come up with a treatment plan, you would like to think that a human your regular doctor, i this i we all think of dr. well buy or something like that would be

looking, oh, let me look back at your study and back in '78 something happened. and they would have the sweep of your entire life. >> yeah. >> but that's what ai has. they have all your records and they are not going to forget something. >> yeah. they can't. look, there is two kind of use cases to think about. one you just have the bot as the therapist. >> steve: how would that work? >> just like you would talk to -- at some point get to the point where just hear audio and you have a conversation with the large language model, the chat bot combined with an ai generated face. it's going to feel like it's a human. the other things that it doesn't only have to be that it could be cases in which say thomas uses it as a kind of consultant. so maybe before he goes into his next consultation, he says hey, listen, i'm thinking about this, what do you think about that? and there are other kinds of cases. i have seen cases not in the context of psycho psychology,

kind of consultant for the doctor is a-to-say i'm thinking about this kind of diagnosis. give me few reasons for thinking it's not the right one. >> steve: overs last couple of months and started with elon musk. this ai is developing so fast we need to take a sings month time-out to figure out where it should go. take a pause to figure out how to work it. and so, i think a lot of people think ai is dangerous. it's not necessarily dangerous. if it can do good for people. >> yeah. i mean, if it replaces people, then we have a problem. you can't replace people. you can't replace humans. even a chatbot therapist. people don't realize in therapy the most important component of the success of the therapy is the actual human-to-human relationship. >> steve: so humanity. >> correct. >> steve: you can't teach a machine feelings. >> you can't. >> there is two issues. some people just don't have access to a therapist. don't have the resources for it. so it could be a good maybe i think more testing has to be done.

>> rachel: a new fox news poll getting a taste of voters' views heading into 2024. trump maintains advantage in the 2024 g.o.p. race with 53% while support for desantis falls for the second month in a row. meanwhile, biden, after finally announcing his candidacy, is leading his challengers with 62%. our next guest has her pulse on the people as a radio host and a mom andy frye. i love talking to moms and radio hosts it's true you do get an idea of how a lot of different people are feeling, so why don't you tell me, what is the general mood of your listeners? >> you know, rachel, thanks for having me. i appreciate it. the general mood is not satisfied. i think it's about 70% of the country according to auto fox news poll is dissatisfied with the direction that this country is headed. and they know that what we have had for the last couple of years isn't getting any better. that's the thing that i think is the biggest deal here.

we see that voters, taxpayers, parents, people are going to work and trying to make an honest living it's becoming more and more difficult and when the direction of the country isn't going right direction, i think you look at who is in office right now and that's kind of ground zero for where you might want to make a change. >> rachel: you know, anecdotally what i'm getting from people is scared. not just dissatisfied, but scared. tell me, also, what you think about, you know, we saw the polls for donald trump. do you see from your listeners that that support for donald trump is going to continue to grow? what are they looking for, your conservative listeners from a candidate on the g.o.p. side? >> i think that what they're looking for is somebody who is going to have a plan. someone who is going to actually assess the issues that are facing people in their homes, their checking accounts their kitchen table. ability to pay for diapers. baby formula. i have an almost 2-year-old at

president, they are the de facto nominees right now but they still have a lot of work to do. >> rachel: yeah it, does feel like people want experience. they know what they expect donald trump they know what he did as you said. he did have the strongest economy in our lifetime and there's no question about that. really quick, there is a lot of debate about how abortion is effecting this presidential race. any thoughts on that from what you are hearing from your listeners? >> it's definitely a key issue to have a very conservative base here in st. louis and the bistate region. i'm st. louis illinois on one side of the river and missouri on the other. very blue state vs. a very strong red state. the thing i hear from listeners most and that i really subscribe to myself is abortion is not an issue that you need to wait for some elected official to get into office to save the day. there's a lot of work that can be done by voters by people who believe in life and supporting women along with these unborn babies and stepping up and being part of the solution. we will wait for government to catch up with the american
