forbes, like these people get on it? not fair. >> maybe they don't do the homework. >> upright entrepreneurs like chris. >> there you go. >> we hope you all have a great friday. thanks for joining us this week. do not forget to dvr us. here is "america reports." >> sandra: thank you, team. republican lawmakers could get a deeper look in hunter biden finances as they look at allegations of biden family influence peddling, before a child support hearing in arkansas. >> john: we will learn more about hunter's foreign business dealings and could president biden be implicated. mike johnson will join us on that coming right up. >> sandra: begin on this friday with president biden facing questions for the first time since the cheat sheet scandal, and he had a hard time answering
10:01 am
questions from children. it comes as concerns over the president's age and ability to did the job if re-elected. hello, welcome. i'm sandra smith. we have made it to friday. john, hi. >> did you say friday? we call it fri-yay here in washington. the president struggling with fairly simple questions about his grandchildren and even the last country that he visited during a take your child to work event at the white house yesterday. >> where are your grandsons or granddaughters? >> i have one in new york, two in philadelphia, or three -- no, three, i have one granddaughter who is, i don't know -- the last country i traveled, thinking what the last one i was in. um -- i was -- yeah, you are right, ireland. that's where it was. >> i heard you had to get back
10:02 am
to the oval office. >> by the way, the one thing i thought when i got to be president, i get to give orders. but i take more orders than i ever did and you are right. >> sandra: all right. a few interesting moments and exchanges there. the president's response, the latest incident to field questions about his mental fitness at the age of 80. the president is the oldest u.s. president in history and the oldest to make a white house bid. >> john: some republican critics say that leaves the door open to vice president harris having to take up the mantle if biden wins a second term. >> sandra: so, with that big set-up, fox team coverage begins now. joe concha will join us in a moment. >> john: lucas tomlinson is live on the north lawn at 1600 pennsylvania, what about that performance yesterday? >> john, a lot of eyebrows
10:03 am
raised when the president could not answer innocuous questions, he was in ireland over three days a few days ago and asked how many grandchildren he has. >> i have six grandchildren, and i'm crazy about them. i speak to them every single day, not a joke. as a matter of fact, i just got finished going through the calls and only one of them answered the phone. >> the problem, john, the president has seven grandchildren now, potential republican presidential candidate tim scott fears what could come next. >> well, that should be a scary proposition. the only thing worse than a joe biden presidency is a kamala harris presidency. remember, brian, she's the one that told us that the border was secure. it is unsafe, insecure and wide open. >> a new fox news poll shows his approval rating underwater nearly a year, going back to the chaotic withdrawal from afghanistan. some democrats want to see
10:04 am
someone else run in 2024, about one in three according to the next poll. this fox news poll shows 28% of democrats want either robert f. kennedy, jr., or williamson. a popular radio host did not sound excited about him running again after the announcement. >> whacked the dnc won't do no primaries next year, do [bleep] [bleep] put joe biden on the stage with bobby kennedy and whoever steps up to the plate and let's have [bleep] discussion, yo. >> john, no white house press briefing today and 15 u.s. vice presidents have gone on to become president in american history. john. >> john: good to have you on the job. lucas, thank you. sandra. >> sandra: fox news contributor and columnist for "the hill." not remembering what country he
10:05 am
was in, a child reminded him, number of grandchildren he has he struggled to answer, a lot of the questions put to him there. and that is why nikki haley, who is running on the gop side, said this when she joined us on wednesday. >> if you vote for joe biden you really are counting on a president harris because the idea that he would make it until 86 years old is not -- is not something that i think is likely. i continue to say we need mental competency tests starting at 75. there's a reason he campaigned in his basement in the last election. >> sandra: so joe, this was out there for the american public to see. will it affect his re-election bid? >> absolutely. when you look at polls, even among democrat, number one reason why they don't want joe biden to run again for president at 70% of americans, seven intense, they cite his age because of the prospect of an 86-year-old president being in the white house and now we are
10:06 am
hearing reports about the vice president and her poll numbers being even lower than joe biden by five points and top white house officials are trying to repaint her image, trying to recreate humpty dumpty, put humpty dumpty back together, but as we know that can't be done. the impression is set here with kamala harris. it's not good. a major authenticity problem, a like ability problem, a major public speaking handicap, and f minus on the jobs she was assigned, and federalize voting failed as well. most democrat voters did not like harris as a candidate, she had to drop out of the presidential race before 2020, and now sitting below joe biden on approval, it's a bad place to be and i don't think any public relations campaign can change the image and impression that
10:07 am
the american people have of her, unfortunately. >> sandra: you referenced as a public speaking problem, others might call it a word salad problem. some examples of that. >> every moment in time and certainly this one to see the moment in time in which we exist. >> during women's history month we celebrate and we honor the women who made history. >> significance of the pa -- passage of time, great significance to the passage of time. >> it is time for us to do what we have been doing and that time is every day. >> we didn't just cherry pick those moments, those moments almost every time she publicly speaks, every interview, every time she speaks to a bigger audience. and by the way, all those moments were when she was talking about major issues that president biden has tapped her
10:08 am
to lead. put them on the screen. she's been deployed to take care of the border crisis, we know that's not only not getting fixed, it's getting worse. she's also been tapped by the president to lead on voting rights, abortion access, and climate change. but you take the border crisis and she cannot and she's welcome to stand up and tell the american people, she cannot point to any one policy enacted that has improved the situation at the southern border. this is not something we see her publicly aggressively out there addressing at the urgent issue that it is. joe. >> sandra, i can't remember the last time she even spoke about the border. she went once for a very short period of time, not even at one of the hot spot towns that is absorbing this crisis and not just people coming over and exhausting our healthcare resources, for example. but all that fentanyl coming over and killing record numbers of young americans and obviously
10:09 am
then 182 people on the fbi terror watch list apprehended. how about the ones we don't know about. this is a national security crisis, she was put in charge of and has failed on that. and the main question, it's relevant, could you see kamala harris as commander in chief? could you see her taking on xi jinping and china, especially if they move against taiwan and how about on trade, and steering this economy correctly. what did gdp growth come in, 1.1%. could you see her answering a question how to turn it around, and as a parent, turn around a.c.t. test scores currently at a 30 year low. dozens of more questions about her capabilities, only have finite time here. >> sandra: growth has improved. it's the fact that real wages and the real reality for the american people on the ground when it comes to the economy is not something they are feeling. that's what we see reflected in those poll numbers.
10:10 am
people are not feeling good, taking on more credit card debt, living paycheck to paycheck, certainly an economic peril. and 37% where the president's approval rating sits today. joe, thank you for joining us on that. >> thank you, sandra. have a good weekend, stay dry. >> sandra: you as well. he's referencing rain is coming to new york, and fingers are crossed for a good weekend, we'll see. you know as well as i do, heard from nikki haley on the program wednesday, a vote for joe biden you are really counting on a president harris because the idea he would be 86 years old, and that is on the minds of a lot of voters. >> john: and some scenarios, he wins, and hands the reins off to harris, the first president,
10:11 am
first african american asian president as well, and whether or not that is something that he's thinking about. >> sandra: the press secretary was asked that question, does the president if elected intend to remain in office for all eight years and she did not answer the question and later put out a statement to clarify. >> john: as we consider the passage of time and the way time passes and the things that happen during the passage of time, we shall see if it works out. >> sandra: well done. >> we have been preparing for this transition for more than a year and a half. let me be clear, our border is not open, and will not be open after may 11. >> john: homeland security secretary offering a new asylum plan as officials expect upwards of 10,000 migrants to cross the southern border daily when title 42 ends less than two weeks from now. nate, what are officials there
10:12 am
saying about the potential for a migrant surge the 11th of may? >> well, john, brownsville city commissioner tells me she has never seen anything like this. resources are stretched thin, laredo sector agents have been happening the rgv sector. the drone as it's happening, every day this week over 2,000 have been processed and that is expected to go up when title 42 ends in under two weeks. that's something dhs secretary mayorkas admits even after laying out the biden administration now border plan. listen to this. >> we do expect that encounters at our southern border will increase. as smugglers are seeking to take advantage of this challenge, and spreading disinformation the border will be open after that. >> john, the border is already open for thousands of migrants crossing every single day,
10:13 am
including this one, take a look, he squeezes through a hole in a border fence in el paso. this group that he was part of crossed illegally, 35,000 migrants are camped out waiting for the end of title 42. they lifted the man up, he squeezes through a small hole and runs across the highway. take a look at the next video from texas dps, the driver pulls up to the rio grand, in hidalgo county, he swims back to mexico with one of the illegal migrants, the other stays behind and caught by troopers. apprehended 51,000 migrants in the past week, the numbers expected to go up and also confiscated 54 pounds of fentanyl in the past seven days. back to you. >> we are expecting as many as 15 to 18,000 people a day when title 42 comes off.
10:14 am
we'll be watching that closely. nate foy with an eye on the border. >> sandra: concerns looming banking crisis, meetings to rusk first republic bank and trying to reach a deal with another financial company in an attempt to survive. earlier today, the federal reserve released assessments why silicon valley bank and signature bank failed. svb collapse due to the fed weak oversight, and the root cause of signature bank failure due to poor management. more on that developing situation coming up. >> john: fox news friday rolls on, hunter biden heading to court. expecting to face a judge in a child support case three days from now. how it could lead to new revelations in his overseas business dealings. >> sandra: the irs chief

>> john: we may soon get a closer look at hunter biden's finances. the president's son has been ordered to appear before a judge on monday in an ongoing child support case involving an arkansas woman and their 4-year-old daughter together. any information could reveal more details on some of hunter's business deals. let's bring in louisiana republican congressman mike johnson, a member of the house judiciary committee. do you expect that this hearing on monday and subsequent court
10:20 am
hearings, the judge said i'm sick and tired of talking to your attorneys, i want to see you in court, could yield any more information the house investigation could use. >> we have been seeking this information for quite some time with the oversight in the house, weaponization, and oversight, and the information is slow to be gathered and come to us. so, wouldn't it be interesting if a paternity suit in arkansas revealed some critical information we have been seeking. >> the investigation five years now into hunter biden, there's nothing that suggests or -- there's nothing, i don't want to suggests, nothing that is a smoking gun in terms of criminality, so it leads people to wonder is there anything out there that could prove that. >> well, we believe, based upon what we gathered so far, there certainly in our view is some criminality on the laptop. we believe there is information about tax fraud, for example, payment of escorts related to
10:21 am
human sex trafficking, and hunting did not register, and a slow walk. we have been seeking this information for a while, the fbi had it since december 2019 but seems to be some favoritism here and that's what it's going to show. >> john: representatives for hunter biden are disputing whether or not the laptop is his. listen to this exchange in court, between judge meyer and brent langedon. said there is never about information about the hunter biden abandoned laptop, and the judge says is it your client's laptop or not, langedon, it's not as far as i know. meyer, is it your position that you are representing to the court it is not his laptop? langedon backs down and says your honor, i'm not in position
10:22 am
to answer that question. potential related to hunter biden's taxes here. do you have any doubt this is his laptop? >> of course not. i think everybody who looks at the objective facts knows this is true. we feel the judge's frustration, that's our sense as well in the house. bank records don't lie, and we know that the biden family bank records, subpoenaed through the banks, have shown that they were receiving payments, money wires, transfers from chinese-related businesses to the tunes of millions of dollars as we know. what we don't know yet is exactly what the bidens did in exchange for that, and hopefully will get the answers. >> john: and as sandra has pointed out, one of the wire transfers, only the name biden. no first name and how does a bank make a wire transfer without a first name? >> it looks rotten and i think it is. >> john: i want to ask you about the irs commissioner, he has been asked by jim jordan to
10:23 am
provide information why an irs special agent visited the home of journalist matt taibbi the same time taibbi was testifying before the committee. that came up yesterday. this exchange. >> is that document request going to be granted, whether it has been done or not? >> let me lift up and say it is my absolute commitment to comply with all document requests from this committee, from congressman jordan's committee, like i welcome the oversight. >> john: so says it's my intention to comply, he would not say whether or not information, any documents have been turned over. to your knowledge, have they? >> they have not. and if he welcomes oversight he would comply with the request. we asked for the documents turned over by april 10th. he missed the deadline. when matt taibbi testified in early march, the irs agents visited his home at the same time he was there. looks to be an intimidation
10:24 am
tactic. >> john: any legitimate reason why the agent visited his home? >> since then they have apologized, oh, thought there was an identity theft concern, but never mind, don't worry about that, it's over now. because we found out and exposed it. you'll all of it looks like the agentis are weaponized, it's de deeply troubling to all of us. >> john: good luck tomorrow with the event you are attending and safe travels to louisiana. >> sandra: after climbing through the roof of a prison, a manhunt is underway for two fugitives in mississippi, after another was captured and a fourth was killed by police. do authorities have any leads on the two still on the run. >> john: and bulletproof cars. how far would you go to protect your family among rising crime nationwide.

10:46 am
>> john: chinese government hackers would outnumber the u.s. 50-1. sounds like a playing field that could never be leveled. >> we are dealing with a tsunami of chinese hacking because they have completely mobilized their private sector in concert with their state actors where they just have battalions and battalions of these cyber warriors. what do we do about it? one of the things we need to look to do about it, if you are a company that's been hacked, it's illegal to hack back, to go back and get your data or to take action. you have to go mother may i to government institutions and i for one am working with my colleagues on both intelligence and arm services to relook that. we need to basically energize and in some cases where appropriate allow our private sector to counter attack because
