biden issues, the latest fox poll has up to 44% thinking that hunter biden has done something illegal. ashley, how troubling is that for the president? >> i think it's troubling if the president has known and is involved in any way in some of his legal trouble but i do think most important about this entire story about the little girl is her mental health and i think that her being debated because this family won't take responsibility for her is probably the most detrimental part of the story. but i do have faith in chairman comer that they will get to the bottom of this and we have to remember that leaving her out of the story right now is fine for the democrats to say now but what happened when they were investigating trump for all those years and his family. mike: all right, so president biden has launched reelection campaign, texas senator ted cruz as you can imagine is not impressed. >> joe biden, you look at the little 3-minute video that he

did. it obviously had to be from a teleprompter because they couldn't trust him to stand in the crowd and speak. his message, he couldn't talk about any policy because the policy has been a mess. mike: dan, how does the president address concerns about his age? >> well, first of all, i disagree strongly with senator cruz. the policy is fantastic, economy with 12 million new jobs, lowest unemployment rate in 54 years, capping insulin it's a very strong record. the president will prove to the american people he's up for the job by campaigning and some ways campaigning while president is rigorous than being president. if he does that and does it well and effectively, he will show he's up for the job as he has been for the last four years, two and a half years, sorry. mike: while we are on the democratic side, john f. kennedy jr. has jumped into the race as

well. >> i'm against women who are participating in women's support who are biologically male. i watched it happened and i don't think that's fair. mike: ashley, is rfk, jr. wise to support biological women in this case? >> well, i think he actually is going to talk to many people in this country by supporting it but we were talking before we got on air, what does it mean that he's 19% of the vote and i'm not sure how much it's really going to matter in a democrat party. i think it would matter for if he would run as an independent because biden will probably still run the nomination. mike: we have seen independents in the past mess things up. 98% ross perrot. understood. let's look at the republican race, the latest numbers from the fox poll has president trump

at 53%, ron desantis at 21%, the rest in single digits. i'm reminded it is very early at this stage, in to be 16 it was jeb bush and scott walker being the hot candidates and that obviously didn't material, how w do you see the republican race so far? >> it could be that ron desantis becomes the jeb bush. i worked for barack obama in this time in 2007-2008, he was floundering and he found his voice and frame later on. desantis certainly could still do that. at the end of the day i have a hard time se seeing this republn electorate breaking from trump. it's not going to happen with the kind of performance desantis right now. i wouldn't bet against the rematch. mike: as republican onset, how do you see the republican race at this stage? >> well, do i think as well that we have a long way to go,

however, the most concern that desantis should have is major donors have been leaving him going to pause or going to other people already. but it will be interesting to see what happens if there's another indictment in georgia in june for president trump if that makes him more popular or less popular and when the debates start in august by fox news i think it will show some of the other candidates like nikki haley, tim scott, chris christie, let's continue to name them to see what is really going to happen with the primary. i think there's a long way to go and i think that there's a few candidates that have been just staying on message and doing the hard work in iowa, new jersey and south carolina to hopefully win. mike: we know president trump is a street fighter. strikes me that the former governor of new jersey chris christie could be a fighter as well. we saw him go after marco rubio in 2016 and took him down pretty effectively. does somebody need to go directly at the former to move the needle?

>> they could but they have all tried this before. chrisie has been anti-trump guy and bent the knee for trump. they all have at various points. at the end of the day, the electorate understands that much. i think it's in his hands to secure the nomination. we will see and there's lots of candidates out there. i frankly tim scott is auditionings for vp, the rhetoric he's throwing to be a baptist minister type in iowa i think is designed to show trump that he could be a really strong wing man for him but i just don't know how guys like christie who have been anti-trump and bent the knee again and go back to anti-trump have any credibility with that electorate. >> or people are tire offed the electorate. there are a lot of people, many people say there's 25% are definitely for trump or desantis or that type of electorate but there's a lot of people who haven't made decisions yet and

>> go back who is running the ararmy aviator. he's seeing something that concerns him. mike: earlier in your career you spent a lot of precious time in the united states army, your thoughts on the aviation issues? >> i'm not a distinguished a soldier as keith, friend of mine but i will say both of the last two incidents causing death of 12 americans who we all owe debt of gratitude, these were both in air crashes and that indicates lack of training or sop's, it's in the a mechanical problem as far as we know. we have to wait for the investigation. i think the army is doing exactly the right thing standing down but emergency operations until they can get to the bottom of this. mike: deadly crash in alaska in remote area, it seems to me that when young people sign up to

wear the uniform, they realize that they may be sent to deploy where they could potentially lose their lives but when it happens in training incidents, that has to be particularly difficult for families to deal with. >> it is terrible but the only way you can succeed in combat from a bit of experience is to train extremely hard. there's no way you can train hard without being exposed to danger, this is exactly what the folks are doing. mike: okay, does army brass and pentagon leadership really need to get a handle on this issue to reassure the army family and the broader military family that army aviation is safe? >> they are going to have to do something about this because, again, two collisions is too many. this is something that should be prevented. other things is the nature of kind of weather, kind of terrain and kind of machinery that you are using but this one can be

fixed and i'm pretty confident that that will get to the bottom of it. the goal was 60,000 recruits, the result was 45,000 recruits. 25% below the goal number. this year they raised recruitment goal to 65,000 recruits. what do you make to have challenge of getting young men and women to sign up for the united states army as you did back in the day? >> i was fo in the army during draft to volunteer draft. the problem is we have a hot economy in terms of labor right now and unemployment is historically low and that means the military has to compete. it is as we just saw with the helicopter crashes a dangerous business in very difficult places up in alaska, overseas in, in the middle east and

nobody everybody is cut out for that plus we have medical and physical problems with many of today's youth. the army like the other services have high standards. mike: some people i have spoken with blame woke policies, being a little too left politically. do you think that is part of the problem in terms of getting young men and women from the middle of the country to sign up for the united states army? >> i have a lot of problems with what you determined to be woke politics. i don't think it's a major issue but people will point to it. i think that overall it's the labor market right now and the high requirements to have military. mike: someone who wore the uniform as a young man, people watching, what did you get from service and why should young people consider service? >> first of all, your country needs it. today as then during the cold war we are facing a global challenge from russia, china, regionally from north korea and

iran and the basis of our whole freedom, our whole economy, our trade, our partners, the entire global system that we benefit from fends on us maintaining collective security with our friends and partners, not alone. but everybody and i've heard this many times in with you out with you. they want to see american troops on the ground with everybody else and that's what these guys do and these girls do. mike: ambassador, james jeffrey, grateful for your lifetime of service, thank you very much for your time today. >> thank you. mike: new studies revealing that many are hiding for not losing wings. charles: good afternoon, mike. troubling trend one where researchers say that pilots are ignoring health particularly mental health symptoms because they are terrified of losing ability to fly. we spoke to multiple sources in

the aviation industry that said one factor that may be contributing for politics hesitant is faa regulation. >> the regulation does nothing more than drive pilots under ground, safety is a concern because we have pilots who are self-medicating or not medicating at all. charles: according to multiple studies as many as 78% of pilots avoid help or lie about their mental health altogether because they want to keep their arrow medical certificate in good standing. the certificate is issued by the faa medical aviation and faa medical examiner known as am&e and without their approval pilots cannot fly. once a pilot loses wings for years. we spoke to an am&e says the faa is due credit in the progress it has made over recent years but

venezuelan are arriving and coming down the hill to tent setup, temporary site. but we were able to get exclusive access with texas dps yesterday, mike, ride along the river and it was quite shocking what we saw. take a look here. you're getting a firsthand look at operation lone star literally here to save lives here in brownsville and the other side of the banks matamoros, mexico, you can see women and children on the raft in dangerous river current, the texas troopers along with the national guard all under texas operation lone star throwing flotation devices to help the texas state trooper here working this line to try and bring them across. they are coming anyway. they can't stop them. the least they can do is save their lives. this one is going to make it. the rgv sector becoming ground

minutes, very active here, mike. we will send it back to you. mike: griff, as surge resources toward the border there, what are the next steps, what's the plan? >> well, that's a great question, mike and i can say enough complimentary things about the rgv border patrol chief here gloria chávez because she has learned from surges in the past. we had title 42 going away six months ago and there was huge upticks and learned to handle the upticks better. we know title 42 is really going away, that's why the numbers are surging already two weeks ahead and they are going to see more resources coming but you are also going to see the story develop in terms of where migrants go and they will go into the interior to places like washington, new york and chicago where we had video yesterday of migrants sleeping in the airport and police stations because

there's no where to put them. ultimately how this story ends is anybody's guess but everyone here is bracing for the worst, mike. mike: griff, i'm curious about the morale, also the folks at the border don't create the policy and they have to execute the policy and they are looking for a surge in the next coming days, how are they holding up? >> well, morale is a tough question and the border patrol agents and texas dps state troopers and the texas national guard and air guard are exhausted of two years of this. i remember our coverage began in march of 2021 when the administration had just taken over and i did live shots with you in matamoros and now you have a much larger problem two years later, however, when you talk to men and women in state trooper uniforms about what is happening now, they are tired, exhausted but they are all hands on deck and they are doing

hello, adam. adam: hey, mike, soggy on the eastern half of the country. on the western it's been completely dry and actually record heat. begibeginning with the wet weatr that we have been talking about, yes, continuing in southeast and mid atlantic. a whole lot of lighting with that. downpours and it has been a soggy one for a lot of folks. this is the fox model. this is taking you through sunday, midwest up into new england and monday and tuesday, boy, we are going to continue to see rounds of rain, more rain is on the way. rain still to come. maybe not as heavy as we have seen consistently but some of the darker greens in up state new york and new england is getting up to couple inches in rain and rain widespread 3 to 4-inches in some of the locations. the soggy feel asking going to continue at least in the eastern half of the country.
