in new york. an emotional scene as family members gather to remember the victims, including that third grade boy. he asked the man to quiet down just before midnight and the suspect allegedly opened fire on this family killing five of the 10 people inside the home. that is man lost his wife and step-son in the senseless attack. he said, i never thought he would shoot and he went room to room looking for people and couldn't catch me. bullets were hitting everywhere, i cannot believe what he did. >> griff: officials have no leads to his whereabouts and local authorities fear he could be anywhere. >> five people died in my county and that is where my heart is, in my county, protecting my people to the best of our

ability. >> we have over 200 law enforcement from federal, local and state agencies trying to bring this suspect into custody to bring justice and to ensure this community is safe. >> griff: they're offering $80,000 reward for the man's capture, that has people very on edge here, ashley. law enforcement is doing combined join effort trying to deal with the number of migrants coming across, now this know mahunt for this illegal immigrant deported five times coming from mexico and if his path were straight out of houston, it will come through brownsville. >> ashley: that is another thing, griff, deported five times, here we are in a

patrol agents and cbp law enforcement, frustrations about the secretary. not just they don't have his back, but they won't allow them to do their job, border enforcement on the line. they are seeing 200 plus migrants coming everyday and they have a smoother process of encountering, screening, prosing and transporting out. we've had a year to deal with it. when you had border patrol driving and transporting migrants everywhere, changing diapers, that hurt moral and it has not recovered as we stand on the door step of unprecedented migrant crisis after two years of unprecedented numbers. in the streets of el paso, you see migrants all across the street, shelters being overwhelmed. you see them lined up along the

he's from, mexico and the houston area, the direct route from houston, direct route would be from houston to matamortis. >> griff: we've been talking about him coming straight down here to get back into mexico and you were relaying to me that they recovered his cell phone closer to the scene of the crime, they do not have the technology to ping him, that is a big part of that, can you speak to that? >> the latest developments, they found his home in a brushy area and the phone has been recovered and now more challenging to i think ping the individual, and penitentiary to rely on the public and call in information to the sheriff's office and fbi in houston so we can find this individual and bring closure to

the families and victims that were tragically taken from this h horrendous crime. >> griff: we are at brownsville, ground zero, you have your governor deploying a massive show of force, lt, we shot footage of 50 humvees coming along the rio grande, talk about the situation, 10 days from title 52 and it appears the crisis is already here. >> when governor abbott launched plan lonestar, border patrol was overwhelmed. you have been coming here two years, they deployed national guard and dps personnel and with the current surge in brownsville, 2000 plus per day encounters strains the resource

of border patrol. governor abbott took proactive approach and gave more resources, more national guard, the purpose is to interdict illegal crossings. look at comments from the federal government, right now what is happening in brownsville is not humane or controlled effort when you have people crossing a dangerous river between the point of entry. go to the port of entry and prevent illegal crossings taking place. >> griff: we have 30 seconds, we have a situation that is more than what we saw in 2021. 17 days for 27,000 hatians at the port of del rio and now that

to answer. we don't exactly know the massive impact this will have on elections. ai come at us so fast over the last couple months, who is to say what it will look like in a year or year and a half when the elections roll around. it is tough to say we're oge at it is tip of the iceberg. as far as how voters encounter this and see it, outside of deep fakes, big impact is extremely personalized advertising over time. people do not like their data being in the marketplace issue but they will be receiving mess messaging extremely personal to them and probably most relevant. that is one way voters will see

>> ashley: new york city is handing out trackers to curb carjacking. 4500 cars have been stolen in the big apple this year, up 13%. new york city mayor eric adams is giving 500 new yorkers air tags to track have beens in case they are stolen. the tags were donated by a nonprofit and will be distributed by neighborhoods
