down just before midnight and the suspect allegedly opened fire on his family, killing five of the 10 people inside the home. that man who survived the shooting lost his wife and grandson in the attack. he said, i never thought he would shoot, i can't believe what he did. >> griff: a dozen agencies are searching for oropesa, officials have no leads as to his whereabouts and local authorities fear he could be anywhere. >> five people died in my county and that is why my heart is, in my county, protecting my people to the best of my ability. >> we have federal, state and local agencies trying to bring this suspect into custody so we can bring justice to the five victims and to ensure this

community is safe. >> griff: they're offing an $80,000 reward for oropesa's capture. as we sit here talking about the migrant crisis, which is coming behind me in that last hour, we had that exclusive interview with chris oliveras who gave insight on difficulty of bringing oropesa into custody. they recovered this cell phone near where the crime happened and he could be headed to get back into mexico and coming through this area of brownsville because most direct route to the houston area. it is just really a testament how difficult it is and this combined law enforcement effort is and the frustration that chris oliveras said about the fact that this individual could have been deported as many as five times and yet there was nothing in terms of like a

binding consequence that would have kept him from being able to come back. all of that happening as literally you will see this morning, we continue our coverage, bus after bus of migrants passing behind me because we are having to just check with our sources and were 2085 migrant encounters in this area yesterday. we'll get newer numbers later this morning, but it has been going on in 12 days more than 20,000 migrants, which says how much of this surge and crisis worried about title 42 lifting is already here. >> ashley: it is going to lift in under two weeks, but like you said, even this morning, it is dark out in the middle of the night and you're seeing apparent

shot this over the weekend. they were throwing a life line to the migrants as they lifted infants, that one wearing diapers. you are seeing 90% venezuelans coming. in 2021, we had migrants under the bridge, that were largely hatians, in the past 12 days in this sector, they have had 20,000. it took 17 days in 2021 and they have done it in 12 days here. that is indicator border officials look at what concerns them and hope they have resources. border patrol chief chavez has tried to process, screening and

>> ashley: take a look at this video out of california. it shows west hollywood's so-called security ambassadors, the men in blue shirts standing still while road rage assault happens in front of them. the program is the alternative to law enforcement. the city moved to eliminate sheriff deputies, this west hollywood resident joins me now. what did you make of this security ambassador program? they look like glorified crosswalk agents, what do you think? was this the right move? >> at best. this is exactly the result of defund the police moment, taking away trained law enforcement and
