we are working, it is maximizing the resources that we have available to us to deliver the most effective results. >> bill: i don't know what that means. he called it a completely broken immigration system. whatever he has or has not done simply has not worked, congressman. >> that is exactly right. this is where they are failing. the administration is starting to do different things but they are only adding capacity. you need to have adjudication and judges at the border that get cases heard in days, not years. if somebody doesn't qualify for asylum don't fly them to chicago or new york or l.a. or anywhere else. fly them back to their country of origin. get the state department involved and having a relationship there. the administration is doubled down on illegal immigration instead of focusing on legal routes where people can come over. an opportunity for republicans to solve this issue. we have to do it in a manner that protects our border as well

he thinks the banking system is solid but expects to see more consolidation. a number of analysts are wondering if it will impact the rate hike decision by the fed this week. washington mute rail was bought by j.p. morgan and stearns was bought in 2008. the big banks are getting bigger is the takeaway. >> bill: nice to see you back in california. >> dana: the biden administration's very controversial mortgage rule takes effect today. it forces home buyers with a high credit score to pay more in order to subsidize riskier borrowers. some say it's nothing more than a middle class tax hike. co-host of the ramsey show jade is here. let's put up the board for everybody to see. if you have a fair credit score, not the great credit score, you used to have to pay $5 thousand over the course of the loan. after that rule change goes into
6:23 am
effect today it's only $3 thousand. if you have a very good credit score you used to pay $1 thousand and after today you will have to pay $2 thousand. jade, you are somebody who worked very hard over many years to get a high credit score. how does it make you feel and what should people do? >> what you said is true. they're trying to shrink the gap between those with a low credit score and those with a good credit score so more folks with lower credit scores can get in and start buying homes. the thing is the shift taking place is only about $ten per 100,000. we're talking about 30 and $40 a month over the lifetime of this loan and at 30 to 40 is changing your world in a bad way or in a good way, you probably don't need to be buying a house right now. if you are somebody coming in with low income, low credit and needing this 10, 20, $30 it is probably not a good time to buy
6:24 am
a house. conversely if you have good credit and $40. 30 is upsetting your world not a good time for you to buy a house. margin matters here, guys. >> bill: you sound like dave ramsey. you are making too much sense right now. however, when we subsidize high-risk home buyers, what does that remind you of? circa 2005, 6 and 7? >> for me it's mortgage socialism. we're taking from one group of folks and putting it over to another group of folks. it is not fair and makes no sense. when you think about the whole point of loan level price adjustment it is because they know there is a certain amount of risk on lower income, lower credit buyers and they want to compensate for that risk. and so it doesn't make sense to move the risk to someone they know is a less riskier buyer, it makes no sense.
6:25 am
i'm not sure what they think they will accomplish. it is pulling the wool over everybody's eyes. everybody is freaking out. they are taxing the middle class but at the end of the day, guys, it is $30. this will equate to somewhere around a quarter or eighth of a percent when it comes to your actual mortgage rate. >> dana: that's true. when you look over the course of your life of the loan will it break the bank? no. the principle really bothers people. not only is it the principle but also that it seemed to come in the dark of night. nobody was reporting on this, nobody knew about it. all of a signed it happened. what's next? will it keep going. people work hard to get a high credit score will be undermined by their government? >> that's right. when it comes to credit scores, it's a game. the rules are constantly changing and you never know what's coming next and at ramsey solutions we teach a certain way
6:26 am
to buy a home to insure your home is a blessing and not a burden. we teach folks you should go in with a 15-year fixed rate mortgage which is completely unaffected by all of these changes. a 15-year fixed mortgage where the payment is no more than 25% of your take-home pay. everything included. and to be honest with you, we even suggest for especially first-time home buyers, if you can pay off all your consumer debt, your credit score drops to 0. a 0 credit score is just as good as a good credit score and you can still by a house called manual underwriting. when you do that you fly under the radar on all of this. >> bill: thank you. tell ramsey we said hello. >> dana: good to see you as always. >> i'll tell him. thanks for having me. >> bill: thank you, jade. >> majority of americans don't want a rematch between joe biden
