following this story closely. dana, it is so good to have you, my friend. i find this troubling. we deserve to know. black supremacist, white supremacist, we always get to a manifesto. it is probably within hours. but for some reason, this is different. why. >> that is a grade point. it is good to see you. remember the killer in this case told friends that she was going to leave enough evidence that there will be no doubt at all what her motive was which i think is incredibly telling and are not the only ones. there are people all across nashville that thought so, too, which is why they were demanding the request for information from the police. now, here what is weird. because those requests were denied, lawrence, there were people who filed suit because these records were not being -- this manifesto was not released by the police but now the police are saying, because we are being sued for not releasing the manifesto, we can't release it because we are being sued.
5:45 pm
they could mood to suit and release the records and it would all go away but for some reason they are not doing it and it just, i mean, just kind of makes you wonder if it is because the evidence is so compelling. and there is compelling interest in this. there is a necessary reason to know what the motive was, what motivated this killer, which of his play this manifesto if they would release it very simple, it would show. >> lawrence: wyatt knust visit from the president of the united states? i don't understand that either. or they go to every -- just came back from ireland, have a great time. all the other events. you have americans, forget whatever belief systems. we are a american family. shouldn't the president, this unifier in jacob alick baxa -- chief, value their lives? >> and he met with the tennessee three because it seemed like all of the discussion and focus on the victims and their families was gone. i think democrats forget something when tragedies like this happen especially when they
5:46 pm
occur in towns like nashville and states like tennessee. there are democrats who go to the church. there are democrats who wear cross necklaces. i think those christian democrats would like to see a little bit of concern for the president and not just all of the attention on the lawmakers giving lip service to gun control groups. they kind of tend to forget that and it looks callous and callous and heartless. >> lawrence: yeah, i mean, especially heartless when you consider the only reason why he was elected was because he was mr. compassion. he sold us that -- >> lawrence: president unity -- >> president unity. >> lawrence: dana loesch, listen to her show if you don't already. thank you, dana. >> thank you, lawrence. >> lawrence: the biden administration has given up control of our southern border to human smugglers and gangs.
5:47 pm
we don't even know where they come from. a recent video report from the center for immigration studies found that large numbers of illegal immigrants are coming from economic regions not because they are fleeing in persecution, expect almost all venezuelans have or will be led into america on just the presumption that they can go back to venezuela's wrecked the economy. massive fraud appears to undergird these tens of thousands of border entries because large numbers coming now have not lived in venezuela in many years. based on the center for immigration studies and reviews with venezuelans over two years, many using the humanitarian claim are not coming directly from venezuela. >> how long was he living in columbia? -- colombia? >> seven years. >> reporter: what were you do doing? >> working. >> reporter: what kind of work?
5:48 pm
>> with metal. >> reporter: metalworker? >> yes. >> reporter: his reasons had nothing to do -- >> lawrence: fox news alert alert. atlanta police have an update on their manhunt. we will listen. 24-year-old deion patterson has been captured. let's listen. >> as you see with me today, are the police chief, cobb county, as well as the fulton county sheriff as well as our apd police chief as well as our fire rescue chief, chief smith. i want to thank also our local college police officers and also our atlanta pu public schools py suffers as well as neighboring jurisdictions, the state of georgia and the federal government that has all chipped in on the support today. we also have a strong correlation with our fire and rescue and emergency medical rescue -- personnel and we must
5:49 pm
thank eric e911 operators who spent the day building calls as we tracked the suspect. i am pleased to share with you that thanks to our strong partnership with cobb county police department, law enforcement have taken the suspect into custody. thanks to the has a highly trained police officers across our region, we are able to bring the suspect into custody without further harm. he will be charged and stand trial for his crimes. not only did law enforcement bring this man into custody. they also kept our community safe during an enormously tense afternoon and evening. i want to thank our citizens for keeping calm, staying in place, and for providing critical information to law enforcement throughout the day. now i'm going to turn it over to
5:50 pm
law enforcement to share an update and i will return to share a few additional remarks later. now i will turn it over to apd police chief darren schumann. >> thank you, mayor parker want to thank the members of the press. you have played an important role today as we kept citizens both in atlanta and cobb county informed and asked for assistance. and thank you for returning to get the updates. the mayor spoke today of a capable competent and brave response by the first responder network who serve not only the city of the region and i want the men and women of the atlanta police department to know, our first responding officers, the teams, investigators and how proud i am a view of the work that you have done today on the behalf of the city and the dire of circumstances you have shown what you do daily from the men and women that call this city home and those here. if you look closely, on the
5:51 pm
earliest of views from the crime scene, you'd not only saw the letter police department responding. you saw a network of officers representing multiple agencies who have trained for the various outcome. over and over again that a day that this tragedy should befall a city that we will be ready and i stand here to tell you that the first responder network was there today for their city. the chair of the fulton county, georgia state patrol, the police department, georgia tech police department and georgia state university, marshals, they were all on scene quickly executing their active shooter protocol to stop the situation. and very shortly we are joined by the gpx, the fbi, the secret service, as well as the united states marshall's services to bring this person into custody. that investigation soon showed up that the perpetrator left the city and remained a threat elsewhere and the sheriff i want you to know that we are a grateful city for your partnership and the efforts of your law enforcement agency to
5:52 pm
take this into custody. and this morning, we celebrated the bravery of atlanta fire rescue. not far from here is then will firefighters day. and to see the paramedics and firefighters when we did not know where the shooter was and could easily have still been in the building or around the corner, cr firefighters dismounted trucks and chief smith go into that situation, it was not the first time i have seen that, chief. we have seen that in training over and over again. when it was necessary to save lives, we are very proud to see a strong partnership as we moved into the dangerous situation. thank you. at this time, i'm going to ask our deputy chief criminal investigation charles hampton to come forward to recap what has transpired and what we have learned from investigation and then outline how his department led to the capture of the perpetrator. chief? >> good evening. what we do know, we know that
5:53 pm
shortly before noon, the subject entered into 11 —-dash and went to a medical center inside the building. it was shortly thereafter that he shot our first victim and then the first number one caulking after that. he spent about maybe two minutes inside the building where he did an instant on foot and what we were able to pick up on the camera network system is that he went to a shell gas station where he commandeered a vehicle. the car was a pickup truck and was left running unattended. and he took that vehicle. we were able to again use video to obtain a tagged and immediately placed in a tag into our lpr system, our license plate reader system. and so at that time, we had to really do some work to figure out where he was at. there was a series of -- both
5:54 pm
here and atlanta and cobb co county. because we were getting information, residents and other locations that he may go to. so that was done as well and then roughly around 12:30, we received an alert from the lpr system that he was in cobb county. and so we were on the phone immediately with the cop to let them know that this individual was somewhere in the jurisdiction and as the chief said, and led to just kind of talk about what happened in the history but i would tell you that although we may not know exactly where he was as soon as we were alerted to that he was out of our area of responsibility, we contacted the local jurisdiction and that coordination took place. chief? >> lawrence: james craig is the former detroit police chief. we are just listening into this
5:55 pm
press conference. chief, we learned that the suspect after he committed this heinous act, went off on the run, stole a pickup truck, and headed to cobb county. great work from law enforcement tonight. >> yes. you know, lawrence, coordination from law enforcement. that is what that is what he deal with these situations. i'm hopeful, though, as, you know, law enforcement recounts what happened as soon as they can, there has been a lot of criticism about manifestoes in recent mass shootings not being released. i'm -- i understand the whole idea of undermining the criminal of his patients. but the community needs to know. and so it allows others to come up and, you know, lawrence, i said it earlier, we talk about can control. this is nonpartisan. this is about our safety. we need to understand who are these violent perpetrators?
5:56 pm
again, we don't know enough. was this individual suffering from mental illness? if so, what are we doing? and so, there's a lot of unanswered questions. so i'm hoping as they have gone through his backward and they probably know a lot more than they are telling right now. but i'm always erring on the side of giving more because i want the community to rest assure that we have it under control and this is what we are doing about it. and vagueness does not work, not in this day and time. >> lawrence: awaiting the chief noted was the training and we have a bunch of anarchists that are trying to get rid of the training facility in atlanta. it is outside of a letter. so i mean, when cops are saying, give me the resources so i can be better, and we know that it was because of the training that this way, why would we be against the training of cops? why will be be against that?
5:57 pm
>> you know why, lawrence? because you cannot negotiate with terrorists. let's call what they are. they are terrorists. then are costs are those anarchists are terrorists. you cannot win with these folks. what we need to understand is there is a certainty of sound -- certainty of sequence. it worked for us and it needs to work in these other jurisdictions because frankly when you saw the riots that happened in atlanta, in response to the training center, why did it have to happen? polverino? -- no consequences. >> lawrence: chief, thanks so much. >> thank you. it is great talking to you, lawrence. >> lawrence: we want to end to night's show on an amazing, uplifting story. 16-year-old pastor jay stewart is embarking on a 3400-mile bike ride across the country. he has -- is hoping to raise
