was seriously hurt. kevin davis is chief and joins me now. thank you for getsing up with us. first and foremost, any idea how the officer is doing. looks like when he jumped that guardrail, he may have hit his leg. >> thank you for having me. he is actually fine. it is miraculous and we don't use that word lightly. the motorist involved, the 17-year-old was traveling at 129 miles per hour, if you can believe that. that vehicle was a rocket that literally turned into a missile. >> ashley: 129 miles per hour, i don't think i've ever gone over 85 and it makes me nervous. this kid was 17 years old. did they say what they were doing? were they distracted?

were they trying to impress friends? what happened? did they say anything? >> that is a great question, we focus on traffic safety in fairfax, virginia. we are the largest police division outside the nation's capital and we've had three horrific crashes involving teens. they are around a car that is too much car for them. high-performance cars, going too fast, aggressive driving tactics and we've increase the traffic enforcement by issuing 62% more tickets this year than last year. we have more work to do. we partnered with schools to get the message out to kids and we need to reach parents. as parent of four young people, i give a lot of thought to the type of vehicle that my kids get behind the wheel and the car he was driving was too much car for him and that is a conversation

parents need to have. >> ashley: it was a bmw, 0-60 in a matter of seconds. when that kid punched it, when you watch on loop, it is more frightening, i cannot believe he walked off unscathed from this. what is your message to parents? if -- you are talking to them right now, what is your message to inner parents of 16 and 17-year-olds? >> first message, don't put your kid behind the wheel of a car that is too much to handle and talk about their responsibility as good citizen. driving that rate of speed, that collision was horrific, an explosion. if the police officer hadn't been on the passenger side of the car and hadn't of moved as quickly as he did. he was in a small pace, only space he could have been in to survive that horrific collision. by the grace of god he survived

and you see how quickly he jumped over the railing, i call it a two-step. he gets on the radio and ask federal for help for the motorist in the car he stopped. i am glad he is okay and lives to fight another day. parents need to partner with public safety and have serious conversations with kids. >> ashley: this video makes me speechless. everyday when i drive home, i see a state trooper, deputy, a lot on the side of the passing cars. i'm afraid if he would have been on the side of the passing car like i see everyday, this would have been a different situation. you guys are up, it makes me nervous seeing anyone on the shoulder when they are pulled on the side of the road. police in particular, are up against more than just the safety aspect from cars.

tell us how dangerous it is for a police officer to pullover a car. you would think it is a simple traffic stop. >> there is no such thing as a routine traffic stop today, yesterday or tomorrow. last year in america, 224 police officers died in the line of duty, every year the vast majority of police officers who lose their lives, lose their lives in traffic related tragedy like this one. i'm glad this officer is okay. he's a 13-year veteran, stellar reputation and we'll use this moment to dedicate ourselves more to ensuring our radio roads are safer than they are right now. we are seeing speed bee teens and adults higher than they have been on the roads. slow down, take a minute and slow down. you will get there, have a little grace behind the wheel of a car.

but you're on the house armed services committee and homeland security committee, so how does this implicate the president? we too know some of the details we know the president's son made millions of dollars in countries he did not speak. drugs and prostitutes. the oversight committee is trite ignore that aspect of it and focus on the money coming from those countries. if the president knew, if the president benefit those dollars going to his son in those countries where he had no experiences in languages he did not speak and sectors he had no experience. we need to know what the president's involvement in that was. now, the white house had said there's nothing wrong there. the president did nothing wrong. so the president should answer this subpoena, should reveal any facts related to it. so we can get to the bottom of it right away. >> alleged document describes and this is the key phrase, the
