i would vote for a democrat if they were going to fix some of the star. i would. but i think i would never vote for a republican to fix -- they would ever vote for a republican to fix it. it is homeless everywhere and everything is covered in graffiti. and it is sad. >> jesse: it is sad to see you go but we now have to go. kaylei is up next, "fox news tonight." ♪ ♪ >> hello and welcome to "fox news tonight." i am kayleigh mcenany. it seems like every time you turn on the television, there is another mass shooting. all too often at a school targeting our children. the most innocent among us. as a mother, i'm worried. i know that many of you feel the same. in just a last year, we have lost far too many. and in uvalde, texas, 21 people were killed including 19 children. we are surely coming up on the one-year anniversary.

nashville tennessee, six innocence lost their lives. three of them nine-year-olds. the faces of these beautiful children are imprinted on my heart. like many parents in this country, i wake up in the middle of the night thinking about these families and praying for them. i cannot conceive of the depths of their pain. as americans, we need to have an open and honest discussion about how to protect our children, tomorrow. not decades from now, tomorrow. what is the real practical solution? what would actually save lives? republic in talk of health has merit but how do you fix this legislatively? it is hard to think about. it seems nearly impossible to fix the human heart or the human mind from the halls of congress. and as for the drumbeat for gun control, let's say just in theory, that you abolish the second amendment and ban guns entirely. that would fix precisely nothing. there are currently more than 390 million guns in this country.

and even if you did try to confiscate them, all you would succeed in doing is creating a black market for criminals and rob the innocent of self protection. in november 2015, terrorist attacks in paris for example left 130 dead and injured more than 400. get this. that attack in france was waged with so-called military grade weapons that were illegal under french law. and that is not the only example. so how can we make a difference? not in theory, but in fact. and in the wake of the uvalde massacre, i was walking through a mall. i passed the tiffany store. there was an armed guard. diamonds protected. then i walked past louis vuitton store. purses, they are protected, too. our children are worth more than the diamonds and purses, surely they are. so why not secure their schools the same way we do with our meaningless material of goods. there's no good answer to the question. armed guards, a bullet resistant

just steps away from the press secretary's office. i would know. i sat there. that is the place where karine jean-pierre works. it is impenetrable. what reason would you have for not protecting our children, our true diamonds. we have sandra blackburn. nashville happened within about an hour. i get text from fearful mothers worried for their children, to my knowledge, and did not see any other senator besides you and senator hagerty come out with a plan in the immediate aftermath to protect my child tomorrow. what is your dealings with president biden and why would he reject his. >> it is just unseemly that there would be such a rejection of this by the democrats. everybody should be for the safe school act, kayleigh. they should want to do this tomorrow, as you were saying. to keep our children safe. this is something i have worked

on since 2018. i tried to get it passed then. i try to get it passed last year after the uvalde shootings, but to have this grant pool and to allow local school systems and local law enforcement to work together to bring and veterans and retired law enforcement to serve as a security officer at a school, they know how to use weapons. they know how to de-escalate situations. i have talked to a lot of them. they like this idea. they are grandparents like we are, my husband and i are grandparents. and they want to be there to help protect children. this would also allow schools to have cameras and people to watch the cameras. and bulletproof doors and the film on windows, the locks that are necessary to be certain that children are safe. and that school environment. so that parents can have the confidence that their children

are going to be safe. >> kayleigh: sandra blackburn, josh senator blackburn, there was a case and it was madeleine who brought it. the case that bans school prayer. her son ended up having a minister and here is one thing that he said. he noted this because it was baltimore public schools where prayer was initially banned. he said 1963 was the first year of the children cannot pray in schools before that, there had never been a murder in a baltimore school. how much of this is faith leaving the human heart in this mental illness we are seeing and the cultural place we are at causing the violence and chaos we are seeing in our schools? >> kayleigh, as a mother and a grandmother, i worry about this every single day. and it is just such concern to me when you talk about the mental health issues. people that are homicidal people

that are suicidal, ought not to have any type of equipment whether it is a car or a knife or a gun or anything that can cause harm. as we know right now, there are people that are homicidal and are suicidal and they are getting that car or that bomb or that dynamite or that gun or knife and they are committing harm. and we have to find a way to say, how are we going to keep people safe in the public space? and a great starting part is the safe schools act and for the democrats to be against this is something that i cannot imagine why anybody would oppose the safe school act to keep children safe. trench i can't either. 10 seconds here. senator blackburn, will be end up seeing that manifesto? >> my understanding is that the writings are with the judge and they are rejecting some things.

curate this 51 intelligence letter, 51 former officials that called the hunter biden laptop russian disinformation. if this turns out to be true, a big deal. mike davis calls it election interference operation. how does that feel? >> we knew that this letter was bogus. we knew it was not russian disinformation. we would not publish russian disinformation. there was an argument that this was an organic sentiment of concern. now we know that was also bogus. it was a political operation from top to bottom, instigated by the biden campaign and mike morrell, the former assistant cia director and now we have learned that the cia agents were actively involved in soliciting signatories to the letter which is confirmation that there was a deep state and it was weaponized against preston trump. >> kayleigh: it must be frustrating and gratifying to see the new york times and npr and all those publications now recognize that you are correct and they have their tails

>> kayleigh: we promise to hold what has press secretary karine jean-pierre accountable for her statements at the briefing this week. today, as she did yesterday, jean-pierre used the briefing to distort the truth about the state of our southern border. nearly 6 million migrants have crossed our borders since biden took office. more than any other time in the united states history. so it would be absolutely ridiculous, totally laughable, for karine jean-pierre to claim with a straight face that joe biden is taking the border seriously. but that is exactly what she did today. her proof, she said is that joe biden had been consulting with his borders are. >> the president is closely consulting with the vice president on this. they have had several conversations on this issue. and so again, when it comes to issues that matter to the american people, they are partners. >> kayleigh: several conversations of kamala. wasn't kamala supposed to stop

that ukraine war? that did not were either. if that was not enough, jean-pierre explained the real reason for the disaster at the border really has nothing to do with joe biden's policies. it is actually the republican party's fault. >> they have not done anything to be helpful in this process. they have taken political stance. what they put forward is not going to help the issue at all. and we have taken this very seriously. on day one of the president put forward a comprehensive immigration reform legislation to really have this conversation about, how do we put more resources to deal with this challenge and instead, they want to take away resources. that is what they have told us. and so, if they want to seriously have a real conversation, we are willing to have that conversation. they have not proven that. they have not proven that they want to have a real conversation. they want to make the situation, the challenges we see at the border, worse. >> kayleigh: so totally failed to mention that the republicans are going to pass wh legislatio.

i would love to know karine jean-pierre's thoughts. she said she would veto it. unless republicans are willing to accept biden's planned to give amnesty to tens of millions of illegal immigrants. the white house says they are not interested in solving the problem. there's a room full of so-called journalists who could have made these points and asked tough questions. that has been true since the first day joe biden took office. they can still decide to hold biden administration accountable. we hope they will. the good news is we don't have to believe the white house spin. we don't need karine jean-pierre lecturing us about the southern border. we can see what is happening with our own eyes. >> several texas border cities have declared states of emergencies over concerns thousands of migrants will "supportive entries within days. fox news has an inclusive look at this surge that has arrived. on the banks of the rio grande, in brownsville, texas, across from matamoros, mexico.

>> every day, it seems like more and more migrants are out here and take a look. this is on the corner. what you're seeing here is hundreds of migrants running up this entire street. this site goes all the way and wraps around the entire perimeter of the guitar church. >> a growing number of migrants continue to make their way to the united states and they come in large numbers overwhelming shelters and nongovernment organizations. >> kayleigh: two americans to have seen the border crisis unfold firsthand are texas ranchers marcus and stephanie canalis. they say the u.s. government has them as migrants currently has two their plans and destroy their property. stephanie and marcus joining us now. you know, marcus, you are 56 miles from the border. thank you for joining us. what are you seeing on your property? >> what we are seeing on our property, we are getting the bailouts. we are getting the getaways. the unknowns, we are also getting all of the for traffic.

admin, just last night, we had about three groups of 10 plus that moved through anywhere from 1:00 in the morning to 4:00. we had some during the day. just, it is just nonstop traffic around here. >> kayleigh: you know, stephanie, when i hear that, here's what i think. i have cameras around my house, ring cameras. a look at them in the morning and if i see a car between 1:00 and 4:00 a.m., i get a little alarmed. does it scare you to look at this video footage and see people you don't know just traversing your property? >> of course it does. and these are -- you know, the groups just continue to get bigger. i mean, we have had groups of 30 that have come to our property. and, you know, when you are out in a pasture by yourself, you may have a gun on you which we do. but if 30 people approach you, you are in trouble. and that is what is scary.

>> kayleigh: wow, you know, marcus and i understand you have had to repair damaged property? >> yes, ma'am. it is a constant battle with repairing fences. you know, mending fences to keep our cattle in, that is our biggest thing. one of our partials here or pieces of property, it is on one of the major highways. so a lot of 18 wheelers. we have to keep our cattle safe and off the highway. and so when we do get a bailout and we are called by border patrol or dps, it is 1:00 in the morning. it is during the day. whatever you are doing, you pretty much stop what you're doing to make sure the offense is committed to keep our cattle in. the other piece of property that we have is across one of the major highways, which is ih 35. and just really there was a cath out that almost got into the highway. and you can only guess where it comes from. it is usually a hole in the sense that apparently what i

found out, there was a bailout. it was on the neighbor, not too far from as and that could have had wanted out. and people are doing 75, 80 miles an hour. >> kayleigh: stephanie, i hear you both speak. i can't help but wonder, what is your reaction when you hear the white house press secretary say a statement like illegal immigration is down 90%? we know that is not to. how does that feel? >> it is a slap in the face to those of us that live down here because we know that is not true because we live it every single day. this is -- has taken a huge financial toll on not just us but all of our neighbors. all of us along the border. and i think a lot of people don't realize that and we are sympathetic to some of those that are coming over here because they say they are being oppressed or they can feed their families, or whatever country they are from and -- but there's a lot of american citizens that

and of course, most of that fentanyl is flowing across our southern border. the biden administration does not care to do anything about it. but thankfully, virginia governor glenn youngkin does. he signed eight bills to combat fentanyl crisis. governor youngkin joins is now to share. welcome, governor. >> thank you for having me and a thank-you for covering this tonight. we have a true epidemic on our hands across the nation. every state is a border state. we are dealing with the death of our citizens, poisoned by fentanyl and as you said, fentanyl that comes from china through mexico and it is killing our kids, parents, our sisters and her brothers. and if president biden is not going to do it does anything about it, we as governors will and that is what we're doing for. >> kayleigh: i was pleased to see you there is made as a weapon of terrorism because that is what it is. and you noted today, that 42 pounds of fentanyl have been seized. that is enough to kill every

resident of the state of virginia. you think these measures you are taking will help to stymie that? >> we have got to do something because we have seen fentanyl overdoses increase 20 times in the last 10 years. five virginia dies every post virginians die every single day. it is truly an epidemic. and so yes, we went to work today. we passed legislation through our general assembly. i did not get everything i want to. what i really wanted was to be able to charge dealers who deal fentanyl and there's a ghost when there's a death. i want to be able to charged them with a felony homicide. i want to go back and get that next year. we were able to categorize dealing and distributing fentanyl as a terrorist act. and that opens up an enormous number of law-enforcement avenues for us in order to prosecute, in order to bring the full weight of the law down on

this horrific industry. i am so tired of having mothers and fathers, grandparents, aunts and uncles for the death of their children just recently, we had five kids in a school in alexandria overdose in a bathroom during school, four of them were revived with narcan. one of them passed away. this is happening all too frequently, not just in virginia but across the country and we are going to go to work to try to end there's no. joe biden and the white house must go to work. the need to secure this border and they need to stop the flow of people and elicit illegal drugs and keep americans safe. >> kayleigh: they do. i'm glad you are doing this. i spoke with when i was down in texas a young girl who cried to me and told me that she lost several of her classmates to fentanyl. you think about that at the southern border. every state is a border state. governor youngkin, i wanted to have you on because you have shown really, up model of how to win a. state or a blue state maybe even. with education. i was stunned at the washington

post poll that had mccullough beating you by 33 points on the issue of education. you flip that around to beating him by nine points, an issue republicans don't often win on. that is a 42 points when. how did you do that? >> republicans historically have shied away from engaging on education. and that is just wrong. we in fact have policies and common sense approaches to delivering a far better education experience for kids across america but particularly in virginia. first of all, it starts by empowering parents. there's nobody who should be at the head of the table at a children's life other than their mother or their father. and this, of course, is a table that should have teachers interested counselors. but this is all about parents. second of all. we have to run to excellence. we got to run to it and the bottom line is that we in fact aren't seeing the standards of excellence erode across

virginia. we put a stop to it. there's no way that equity should be replacing excellence in our schools and finally, we are providing different avenues for choice. we have law schools in virginia. there are charter schools. we enhanced our tax scholarships for people to choose to go to private schools. it is important for us to continue to provide comprehensive leadership on education. it is a winning platform for republicans. we want one in virginia. we will win in our midterms. are hosting it is and we will win on education as well. >> kayleigh: i only have a moment, i was in chicago at an event. i had a very upset man come up to me and say, governor youngkin is not running for president and i read your statement that you made on this. i have not written a book and i'm not in iowa. i noticed that the nuance of this year, that still leaves some room. any thoughts you want to share with us on the 2024 front?

>> well, i am humbled by this topic. you know. 40 years ago, i was washing dishes and taking out trash at a diner in virginia beach and to have my name tossed around is humbling. the reality is i'm encouraged by the fact that the nation is watching virginia. and they recognize that we can turn a blue state red. we can bring common sense back in the building and make huge progress. virginia has turned around. we are thriving in virginia. i have got big work this year. my house is up. it is our midterms. i am focused. we're going to demonstrate the conservative, commonsense policies can win. that is what we're going to do this year. >> kayleigh: governor youngkin, thank you. the biden administration has weaponized the fbi to target christians. earlier this year, the bureau sent a swat team with nearly two dozen armed agents to write an arrest not a criminal but a pro-life christian man named mark helped. what was his crime?

does he dare to defend his son after he had been harassed by an abortion activist. he charged him with a federal crime. he faced 11 years in prison. he was thankfully acquitted on all charges. he is now speaking at about the ordeal. mark houck and his attorney, peter green, joining us now. i will never forget hearing about that story. 15 fbi agents show up at your home. guns, a battering ram, among other things. you have seven children. according to your previous interviews, that you have done, your children were screaming, you said. what was the reaction of their children to see this interaction? >> thank you for the opportunity to share again and it has been great to be able to do so and the children deserve their voice to be heard and we are a homeschooled family. and i'm the headmaster of the homeschool. so the children watch their

headmaster get taken from their school, arrested in front of them. it was pure trauma for them and so, you know, they really have been processing it and every time we have a chance to talk about it, it brings a little bit more healing but wanting your audience should know on the day that i was arrested in front of my family, i cannot even say goodbye to them. they did not allow me to do that. man -- one of my youngest children, yelled out, please don't take him. he is my best friend. and so that is those that just breaks my heart. but what they are doing fairly well and they are grateful for the opportunity to come and share their story next week as their dad, i will be representing them in congress next week. >> kayleigh: one thing that stuck o out to me, to me, you sd from the moment you were indicted, god's hand was upon us. what did you mean by that? i am a man of faith. i have been in ministry for 20 plus years and i saw the opportunity for what it was and it was persecution and i did not do anything wrong.

of us standing up for people's rights. babies' rights in the womb. and i would do it again. and so i know when the feds came to my door, that i was a righteous man and that a righteous man is a crucified man. and so for me, i saw god's hand in it. my family has seen it. my wife has seen it and we have been blessed by it and we have been blessed to have thomas more representing us and people like peter breen and so we are a blessed family. >> kayleigh: peter, you can't help but feel like this did not happen as a one off. 34 pro-life officials being targeted. just two people who have gone after pro-life facilities. the radical traditional catholic memo we have seen. merrick garland saying, the pro-life people, they commit crimes. we can catch them. it seems like an effort to go after christians. >> everything about this has been an intimidation effort. that is why it was so important to win mark's case, to get him in front of congress and

with chronic mental illness worsened by marijuana. >> kayleigh: you smell this putrid smell and you wonder and you hear people talk about the marijuana of yester years versus today. is there a difference? is this the tobacco industry? making this more potent? >> this is the most important thing what you just said. it still says marijuana on it. it has got a 30% active ingredients, thc. back when i was 18, it was 1.5%. it is 20 to 30% more powerful. it is not the same drug. it impacts long-term. it impacts development. and it causes psychosis. >> kayleigh: interesting. one more question you were question for you. senator dianne feinstein, back today. chuck schumer was holding that's part of her. what are your thoughts on that? it seems like democrats have a lot of people that are shoving out there for their own political reasons. >> exactly. i'm not sexist. i wanted to know what fett fetterman's cognitive state was. senator feinstein, at last year

they were saying, we got to replace her. she is not up to it. now simply because they are trying to get some judges approved or because they want to go after the supreme court justice, clarence thomas, or because they want to raise the debt ceiling, they are hauling around. that is not with the united states senate is supposed to be for. you are in government. >> kayleigh: it is very sad, dr. thank you very much for being here in the studio. >> great to be with you. >> kayleigh: we are learning new information about how the biden campaign in conspired with intelligence agents to discredit the hunter biden laptop story. according to a new study is shocking report from the new york post, the cia and its former acting director circulated a letter that falsely claimed the laptop was russian disinformation. we knew that part. joe biden famously used the letter to discredit the post-reporting of the final page until debate -- residential debate. francey hakes is a federal prosecutor. here is what is so interesting.

welcome, francie. we knew that 31 intelligence officials, former got together, wrote a letter, calling the hunter biden laptop disinformation. never mind it had all these pictures of hunter biden. the new information is that a current cia official allegedly was going around asking for signatories of the letter. current. that would mean deep state. that is what this is all about. >> well, you know, kayleigh, really is. i think that violates the hatch act. you are not supposed to engage in politics when you are inside the government like that. that might be a violation. maybe merrick garland should take a look at that. this is shocking, but somehow not surprising. you had a really concerted effort by those within and without of government to take down protein trump was bogus russia allegations and so it was all part of the same kind of

continuing plot when the hunter biden laptop came to light. you know, i used to handle computer crimes cases when i was a federal prosecutor and there were so many indicia of reliability on that laptop that those 51 people not to mention every fbi agent who has seen it ought to be ashamed of themselves for having any doubt put into the american people's minds about the true provenance of that laptop that it was obviously hunter biden's and to me, it is a deeper thing really, kayleigh because this is all about keeping the american. look from understanding that there might be public corruption scheme going on. and so if you call the laptop russian disinformation and you just talk about hunter biden and his photographs, then somehow the public won't know that you have got a potentially serious case of corruption. >> kayleigh: francey, to your point about indicia of reliability. there are e-mails with his father. this was a real product. but this all happened, this curating of the officials by the

current cia agent when someone submitted their book for prepublication review by the c cra, i have to go through this process with the national security council. they look over it. they say, no cl classified information. they are supposed to be a political individuals. it seems the cia official was very much political in nature. >> well, unfortunately, kayleigh, there are a lot of political people and government. we are all political people but you're supposed to be able to set that aside when you raise your right hand and swear an oath to the cia or to the department of justice or to the constitution. and it seems to be where trump is concerned, that just goes out the window. >> kayleigh: oh, certainly does, out the window. francey hakes, thank you. were often told joe biden is a healthy 80-year-old. we are now learning even the first lady may have some issues with the president's health specifically with his diet. i like his diet, though. i will tell you more about it.

[laughter] >> i love that. they are a 40 years after. i remember watching him in the senate dining room. he would be chugging away at the ice cream. why are they worried about this now? do they think this will help the campaign prospects? i had to tell them. i looked this up. of all people, the all-timers association's is eating this kind of processed foods particularly cookies and ice cream, causes and hastens. cognitive decline. maybe they are trying to stop it. i think it is a little too little too late.
