6:03 am
right here in brownsville showing an absolutely massive amount of clothing, trash and rubbish left behind by these migrants after they cross illegally here. one of the major hot spots in brownsville. everything you look at is accumulated over a matter of a few days. mixed with all that clothing and trash are also i.d.s from around the world. paperwork from around the world and mexican humanitarian visas. before they get to our border they have to get to mexico first. mexico mass issues them visas and allows them to travel to mexico. go right to the u.s. border and once they cross over they get rid of their wet clothes, trash, food, i.d.s and that is one single spot along our border. there are dozens of these along the rio grande valley. look at the video we shot yesterday here in brownsville late yesterday afternoon. we went down to the edge of the river where you can see masses of people across the river in mexico gathering waiting to

cross illegally. some of them already in the water. some of them coming across on rafts. you will notice there is no resistance whatsoever on the mexican side. mexican immigration isn't trying to stop them. you see people in the water with kids and supplies and food and rafts. once they do get across to the u.s. side, the only resistance they are running into is coming from the state of texas, not the federal government. you will see texas national guard soldiers with barbed wire and soldiers and troopers trying to block them as they come across. you will see some of the migrants look confused and not used to being repelled. monday and tuesday alone of this week more than 10,000 border patrol apprehensions of migrants. some of the highest daily totals ever recorded in u.s. history. the border patrol union is already sounding the alarm in title 42 hasn't dropped yet. here is what they tweeted. field reports from agents across the southern border verify the en nor tee of this tidal wave of

illegal immigrants. huge groups are overwhelming stations and completely out of control. massive releases beginning and it will get much worse. thanks, biden. back out here live i have spoken with numerous border patrol and cbp officials and what they're telling me is the administration's number one priority now is avoiding overcrowding and the potentially damaging images of overcrowding that can come out of it. they want to process, process, process as quickly as possible and that we are likely about to see the largest wave of mass releases this country has ever seen. street releases have already been authorized across all nine southern border patrol sectors. buckle up, guys. send it back to you. >> bill: thank you, bill melugin beginning our coverage in brownsville. thank you. >> dana: all of this could be the new norm. president biden predicting the border will be chaotic for a while. peter doocy is live at the white house with more.
6:06 am
peter, yesterday mayokas said everything is fine. the president does predict chaos. >> chaotic is not a word you hear a commander-in-chief use to describe one of their own policies. president biden is basically saying that's just the way it is. >> president biden: well, we have had problems with the border for a numbers of years. >> you will see 15,000 or 150,000 at the border. are you sending more than 1500? >> president biden: what we want to do at the border is have it work and function the way it is designed to work. that requires us sending more immigration officers, more asylum judges. >> there is already such a backlog that some border crossers will be released with no way for the feds to track them. dhs is explaining it like this to us. u.s. border patrol sectors may release certain migrants who
6:07 am
undergone public safety vetting to continue their immigration processes. this may include a processing -- processing migrants for parole to reduce the amount of time they spend in custody. the house leaders on the republican side pushing a border bill today are warning against that kind of catching and releasing. >> it's insane. we are catching people from yemen. you have to understand these aren't people just coming from mexico, they are coming from 160 countries, yemen, china, others. why are they coming to america? we know what has happened in this country. we have to protect our country. >> they will have secretary mayokas join karine jean-pierre at the briefing today. president biden's on-camera activity, his one appearance will be to tout historic conservation actions, dana. >> dana: peter doocy at the
6:08 am
white house. >> bill: brandon judd, lieutenant alvarez and gentleman, welcome to both of you. i want to -- if we can in a simple way to help our viewers understand what's happening as of tonight. under title 42, an agent can process and send 40 migrants back to mexico in five minutes. that's what we understand. when title 42 goes away, it will take one agent 30 minutes to an hour to process one migrant and determine where he or she will go next. now we're told this title eight goes into effect next meaning if you don't apply first in mexico, you can be expelled immediately. i don't know if that's going to be enforced. we'll find out from you in a moment here. what the president just said when he was up in white plains, new york yesterday he believes based on that sound bite the problem is resources, brandon judd. there is not enough on the border to handle everybody and
6:09 am
that's quite evident. what is going to happen now? >> it is more lies from this administration. more deflections. it's a problem of policy. if we had the proper policy we could control the border tomorrow. we don't need to throw more money at this or have taxpayers shoulder the burden. we have to have proper enforcement stances. if we have that we can stop this tomorrow. he just won't give that to us because he knows it goes against his base. what we have to go back to is we have to go back to the rule of law and what makes us safe. what makes the american people safe and it's so disgusting to every one of us trying to protect the american people. it is policy not more resources. >> dana: lieutenant, could you explain to people what could be different? we've been covering this story every day and i want you to be able to tell people if you've been following us on fox news as we've covered the story, what
6:10 am
will be different for the people of the texas department of public safety tomorrow morning? >> well, dana, we are more involved than we've ever been in terms of border security. the past two years and why we're talking about this topic the administration has dismantled every policy put in place. they canceled the construction of the border wall and took away every viable tool from u.s. border patrol to do their job on the front lines and enforce criminal work and seeing the mass migration between the ports of entry. yesterday we started taking a pro-active approach. governor abbott made it clear in march of 2021 operation lone star we weren't going the wait for the administration to take responsibility for their actions we would step in and do the job and what we've been doing for two years. yesterday we cleared out brush along the river and we put razor wire along with national guard to stem the flow of people coming across between ports of entry.
6:11 am
they talk about humanity and compassion, more orderly process. there is nothing humane or compassionate about people crossing between ports of entry with their children on a dangerous river. when they make it to the united states they have nowhere to go. the shelters are at capacity and now they're sleeping in the streets. clearly they have not done anything to protect these migrants coming across the border and we will continue to take more action and address any threats we see along the border and we have to keep in mind we have to focus on the criminal activity that's also going to be taking place because of title 42. an increase in human and drug smuggling and gotaways. every single resource, federal resource will be pulled from the front lines and have to process. now we'll have to fill that void. >> bill: the razor wire is just one location along the border that extends hundred treitz of miles. brandon judd, you asked the question what should the policy be? >> we've got to do 1 of 2 things.
6:12 am
we either have to hold them in custody pending a deportation proceeding or send them back to mexico and wait there until their day in court. all of these individuals that cross the border illegally have the right to petition for their day in court but they don't have the right to be released to the united states. that's the magnet drawing all these people. it is a reward. they get released into the united states we reward them for their unlawful acts and we have to take that away. that's what the consequence has to be. it has to be to either wait in custody until you have your day in court or wait in another country until your day in court. by the way, that's what all developed countries around the world do. they don't allow people to enter their country illegally and be released. they make them wait in another country pending their asylum claim in that country and we need to do that as well. >> dana: thank you so much for kicking us off this morning as we get ready. >> bill: you have your work cut out for you, men, thank you for your time.
6:13 am
appreciate that. >> dana: speaking about the word chaos, so remember the afghan withdrawal and we described that as chaos. even the administration described it as chaos. a month ago the national security council at the white house said they didn't see any chaos in afghanistan. now even the president is admitting chaos but they don't want to own it. >> bill: when we were listening to secretary mayokas why isn't the president of the united states giving that same message. now the white house will have mayokas own this thing. we haven't seen kamala harris all week. it was root causes a year ago. that's gone to the wayside now and they've given up on that. el paso, they think they could get 17,000 to 18,000 a day. you've seen it already. we have been showing the video for a month. that's just one town.

disappearance of natalee holloway is being extra dated to the united states. he faces charges of wire fraud and extortion for scamming hollway's family. for those who have forgotten it was a huge story back then and he is back in the news. >> it is a huge case. it has remained an unsolved case but now the family is perhaps getting some closure. the peru government issued an executive order allowing joran vandersloot to be extradited to the u.s. he is the prime suspect in the disappearance of natalee holloway during a graduation trip to aruba after she was seen socializing with him at a popular tourist bar. it will allow van der sloot to face prosecution in the u.s. on

charges of extortion and wire fraud. an alabama grand jury indicted him on the charges in 2010 after he offered to tell holloway's mother where her daughter was buried in exchange for $25,000. a body was never found and although van der sloot is the prime suspect in the young woman's disappearance he hasn't been charged in connection with her death. he is serving a 28 year prison sentence for the murder of a 21-year-old woman he met as a casino in lima and pled guilty in that place in 2012. holloway's mother issued this statement. a long and painful journey but persistence will pay off and we're finally getting justice for natalee. >> dana: thank you. >> bill: what a twist that could be. hold on. new york city mayor eric adams is being shown the political door. no longer an official surrogate for president biden after the president scrapped adams from
