his city and learn to work with police and his constituents even though he was part of calls to defund police. he says his policies go after root causes of crime. chicago police report murder is slightly down from this time last year, but still in the hundreds and motor vehicle thefts up 130%. just yesterday, a gang of four people threatened people with semiautomatic weapons. police are still looking for the suspects and adding to violence, this past weekend alone 25 shot and six kaied, some victims just 16 and 17 years old. the soon to be mayor johnson will follow outgoing mayor lori lightfoots, who lost her campaign by massive numbers for her failure to reign in crime.

lightfoot, who had policies that puzzled people, and you bring in someone to bring change and looks like change is going in the wrong direction. what recourse do citizen have even if they are not willing to support another party. what recourse do citizens have? >> that is a great question and think about the election of brandon johnson, he said in an interview recently, he's still tripping he was able to pull this off and i think a lot of folks in chicago are tripping he pulled this you hava, especially when you look at the fact crime is up over 40% in chicago from the last year. the question would be, why bring in someone who is far worse tan what we had or we can imagine would be.
