question was did the fbi properly vet what ended up being politically motivated evidence that was brought to them. durham's answer is no. in the report he writes the doj and fbi failed to uphold their important mission of strict fidelity to the law. senior fbi personnel displayed a serious lack of analytical rigor toward the information they received. especially information received from politically affiliated persons and entities. durham says that the apparent ploy by hillary clinton's 2016 gain to then tie candidate to russia fell short to mounting of provable criminal offense but given that given intelligence the fbi should have questioned whether leads were coming from trump opponents rather than jumping to russia investigate. the fbi did offer this response, quote: the conduct that special counsel durham examined is the reason that current fbi leadership already implemented dozens of corrective actions which is v. now been in place for some sometime. had those reforms been in place

and it's hearsay on hearsay. it was uncorroborated. they didn't even try to substantiate it. and then they went and tried to get fisa warrants on both carter page and george papadopoulos. i mean, this is not how it's supposed to work. me meantime, brian, brennan at the cia and others knew that hillary clinton wants campaign was doing -- was executing a plan. and, for some reason, the fbi had no interest in the broader context of what was happening. i just -- you know, i knew some of this at the time. to see it laid out though, like changes everyone's decisions along the way. and we should have never gone through the pain of the two or three years of the russia hoax. >> brian: think all the people legal fees. thought he was going to jail. did he nothing. you told me in the break this occupied every minute of every day the russia probe.

the fbi works. removing the investigative team from the hunter biden probe. some say it's in retaliation for the whistleblower coming forward. matt, from what we know, what do you think. >> first of all, don't mess with chuck grassley and his whistleblowers. second of all, i think this is the problem with federal law enforcement right now. and that is that they are unwilling to do things by the book and follow regular order. it is all political. and especially this hunter biden investigation. you know, main justice is putting their thumb on the scale and goes all the way to the top including attorney general merrick garland. >> brian: matt, you must be seething today as we go through the 300 plus pages. thank you. >> all right my friend. >> brian: check in with janice dean while everyone else was reading the durham report you are focused on maps. >> yes i always focus on the weather maps during this program. take a look at it. we have cooler temperatures across the northeast. and that's going to kind of continue for the rest of the workweek. 59 right now. it is spectacular
