in "the faulkner focus." the review is 306 pages. it is a scathing indictment exposing the political rot at the top of some of our nation's most powerful law enforcement agencies. it concludes the f.b.i.'s launch of crossfire hurricane. that was an operation driven largely by hillary clinton's presidential campaign. it shows just how dirty and partisan their persecution of donald trump actually was. an excerpt. the d.o.j. and the f.b.i. failed to uphold their important mission of strict fidelity to the law and there is continuing need for the f.b.i. and the department to recognize apparent confirmation bias and an over willingness to rely on information from individuals connected to political opponents. jim jordan inviting special counsel john durham to testify

before his committee next week. reaction to the report, buckle up. >> the f.b.i. knew it was a lie. they had no evidence. no evidence whatsoever to commence this operation. >> the f.b.i. has a lot of work to do to restructure itself and repair its reputation. it is a very partisan organization. >> we need to end the f.b.i. as we know it. it needs to be broken up. clearly it has become corrupt. the leadership is corrupt. >> we should not have important institutions like the department of justice and the f.b.i. willing to do the political bidding of democrats. >> harris: matt whitaker former acting attorney general during the trump administration said this. >> the first two years of the trump administration we were ham strung by this invest gays. the media, every night it was bombshell, bombshell. people won pulitzer prizes and folks got million dollar book deals and people on cable tv making money and were all part

of this conspiracy to lie to the american people. >> harris: david spunt is live for us at the justice department with more. david. >> i remember back in 2019 then president donald trump multiple times touted the john durham investigation anxiously awaiting it. here we are four years later. 306-page report dropped yesterday. it is scathing toward the f.b.i. no question about it. but an important note, this is the f.b.i. of 2016 and 2017. the f.b.i. includes in a statement to fox news they have made multiple changes over the past four years. let's read some other parts from the report, durham writes our investigation revealed that senior f.b.i. personnel displayed a serious lack of analytical rigor towards the information that they received especially information received from politically-affiliated persons and entities. he says the f.b.i. rushed that crossfire hurricane investigation. the obama white house also

political motive as pointed out in the 2019 michael horowitz i.g. report. no question, though, a difficult time for the f.b.i. but even durham in his report says he is confident that the changes the f.b.i. has put in place over the past few years will keep history from repeating itself. >> harris: thank you. piercing headlines all over the place. reacting to the durham report. one op-ed the f.b.i.'s integrity has been fatally compromised. durham proves that hill tree and the f.b.i. tried to rig the 2016 election. and this part. also points out an unequal treatment of clinton and trump. top f.b.i. officials also saved hillary clinton by scoring the federal statute book and treating her perpetual violations on federal laws of classified documents as an error and unintentional. jason chaffetz, former

republican congressman from utah and chairman of the oversight committee. when you first saw this and digging through the 306 pages what are we learning? >> it is disgusting. there is no consequence. nobody prosecuted or handcuffs or nobody going the jail. nobody lost their job or pension. people got promoted. they sell million dollar book deals and go on television and start lecturing us about leadership and those types of things. you even had an f.b.i. attorney who forged documents to effect an election. he didn't lose his law license. he had to pay $1 thousand fine, and that's the only consequence of all this? they rigged an election. they affected an election. you know what? adam schiff and eric swalwell, why do they have security clearances?
8:07 am
why aren't they resigning in shame? these people went before the cameras for years and said they had seen the direct evidence that durham now says was never there and i haven't seen any apologies, no correction of the record. where is the "washington post", "new york times." all these other ones correcting the record? they never did. >> harris: i want to lean in just a little bit on those security clearances. when you talk about accountability you could start there. >> yeah. that's the easy one, right? these 51 people that signed the letter on the intelligence i know it's a different topic but they never lost their security clearance. the people that were involved and engaged in the senior levels of the f.b.i. still have security clearances. why? why does eric swalwell and adam schiff still have a security clearance? as a member of congress you get a security clearance. you can lose it. how come congress is not moving on it? kevin mccarthy should put that on the floor and strip those people of their security

clearance. >> harris: we'll see if he does it. you mentioned the media. that was my focus. the liberal media shrugging off the durham findings. we'll look at that. >> the report is now here. it has dropped and it might not have produced everything of what some republicans hoped for. to the degree it does exonerate donald trump. >> the durham probe has loomed large on the part fantasy and hobby horse. >> john durham isn't bringing any new charges. >> durham is a pathetic character. i think federal prosecutors have a 97% conviction rate. he was 0 for two. he got a plea for a parking kick et. that's it. >> harris: jason, i was talking about what could even appear as complicity with some in the liberal media for not moving on what they knew. hunter biden laptop is only one of those things. >> yeah, listen. you have to also couple this
8:09 am
with 1,000 plus pages that michael horowitz, the inspector general at the department of justice put forward. he made 12 recommendations for prosecution. none of those were moved on by the department of justice to prosecute including a manipulation of the media. the whole strategy here was to plant this story, give it to the media, give it legs, then to justify the idea they could ratchet up the investigation. that affects an election. twice they came up with past th consequences. >> harris: what's amazing to me. we don't have to go on too long about this because we want to move forward. it is amazing that donald trump wants to run to lead this country again after all that we're finding out now that he and other republicans around him like yourself, look at the facts.
8:10 am
nobody outside of fox really would even report what was going on and look when you peel back the onion what's underneath it all. the "new york post" reporting the internal federal service removed its entire investigative team from the long running biden tax fraud case. the justice department made that move suddenly yesterday. suspicious timing with recent whistleblower claims alleging the cover-up in the hunter biden case, one bis re whistleblower on that team calls the move clearly retaliatory. that person also claims there is preferential treatment for the first son and garland gave congress false testimony to defend hunter biden. it could be a huge problem. that would be on tape. >> well listen, senator grassley knows who this person is. i believe congressman and chairman jim jordan and james

comer know who it is. they need to get the whistleblower up before congress. this is of deep concern. you could document more than $30 million that is flowing into the biden family and look, you have hunter biden himself admitting having paid more than a million dollars to the i.r.s. that he was under investigation. the conclusion is more than justifiable for congress to dive deeper into. >> harris: it sounds like a viciously large number. we were working with 10 million on one side now looking at up to 30. the numbers of bidens involved up to nine. look, the public just needs to know the truth. and like what we just found out with john durham's report. maybe you need to have somebody else taking a look at this. i don't know. your last quick word. >> i don't know why there isn't a special prosecutor. there is a direct conflict of interest for this attorney general. there should be a special prosecutor and it should have

bigger issue than everything your commentators alluded to, which are inflation, high interest rates, and the downturn or recession. economics tends to drive elections and the economic news has not been good. finally, the durham report, if anything, is a huge benefit to the republicans. generally and to donald trump personally. it is a vindication of his position and his argument that he has been unfairly targeted in all these investigations. >> harris: an op-ed with this today. the hill actually. just like in 2016, false confidence against trump could be our downfall in 2024. that's margaret white writing that. what do you say to that? i will go in reverse order now. doug. >> i think if joe biden's

ratings are in the mid 30s. >> harris: they are. >> right. if they stay there, the election is no longer a choice between the two. it is a referendum on the president. i'm old enough, kellyanne and you, harris not, to remember the 1980 election, a referendum on jimmy carter that led to a sweep for the republicans and ronald reagan. i worry that there will be a similar potential reaction to biden unless his ratings go up on economic issues, on the southern border, on climate, and on a whole range of issues that american people feel are most important. >> harris: i want to piggyback off what he said. does getting a deal to raise the debt ceiling and address some of
8:24 am
the excessive spending, does that get those polls for biden to pop? >> no, nobody believes he wanted the deal. nobody believes he is fiscally responsible. this is a man who spent trillions of dollars of money we don't have on things we didn't ask for or need. meanwhile, americans will tell you they are living paycheck to paycheck. everyday life is increasingly unaffordable. to this point about overconfidence by the democrats. that did hurt them. also hurt them to have a weak candidate in hillary clinton. if they stuck with biden, that toxic stew is coming back and you know donald trump and whoever the republican nominee but particularly trump will put in the energy and investment and crisscross the country 8 or 9 stops a day. biden won't do that and kamala harris can't do that. something else. the durham report has an effect. at a person who had to tell

president trump what a golden shower was, joe biden will apologized. it hampered the presidency. we would talk about things, russia, russia, russia. the first true election where people will go to the polls knowing they were lied to about that and hunter and part of the consideration for these voters. >> harris: that election piece is really critical. democrats have to be looking down. they were willing to play with the primary and move south carolina up to get those black votes. and then we just found out that 90%, the following among black voters biden had and now he has 58% and questions have to loom why is that? and should you have moved where you thought you could get the black vote up before iowa? it is a lot going on. doug, i come to you next on this one. bud light not the only company getting a frosty reception to a woke campaign.

before they were sacrificeing children's education and safety. they were pushing our homeless veterans out to make room for these illegals shipped in and bused in. you heard me say it before and i'll say it again. you play stupid games you win stupid prizes. as a sanctuary city new york made their bed and have to contend with the fact they have 1500 illegals coming to their city every day. not only that but 65% of the illegals that they are housing and taking care of are on the public dole. that means their food, housing, healthcare and beyond. it is all at the expense of our kids and our veterans. so this is really starting to hit close to home for so many people and if there is not a consequence for these illegals coming in, it will just continue. >> harris: i just remember when he was running mayor adams in new york city had wanted there to be some voting allowances for people who were not citizens.

i'm glad you mentioned what's happening. in new york, they are actually using one of the former training academies for the nypd to house these folks. they still have an active range where they do target practice that is in use that is also housing illegals. does anyone see a problem with this? this is absurd. i feel like i'm taking crazy pills when i read these stories and hearing from border patrol agents who are exhausted. i got a text from one today saying there has to be consequences if we stem the flow. we can't maintain this. we're exhausted and terrified for our families and can't do our jobs, help us please. >> harris: i want to fact check now. are they still at the border working the seven day rotation, no time off? >> yes, yes. i'm telling you right now in california and in arizona, those sectors are getting hit the hardest. i think texas the state of texas has stepped up as much as they
