at the horowitz report, it should have never happened. >> steve: we know a lot about it, thanks to the fact bill barr appointed mr. durham to look into it. he sat down with bret baier on special report. it was a long interview. here he is talking about we know what we know, what this really was and this was a smear campaign against that republican, who is running for president. >> what this has shown is that the source and really two sources and drivers of this whole ugly episode and that is hillary clinton's campaign, who launched a smear campaign that was based on getting russian sources to spread false information about donald trump and pedal to the press and to the government, the fbi. and both the press and the fbi

presidency as a result. >> brian: ambassador downer put him up to talk to papadopoulos and they had narrative to run with. disturbing to see speert strzok getting paid and andrew mccabe saying, do not believe durham, it is a political document. it is not a political document, if people talk about the integrity of john durham, look up eric holder, when he was named to investigate this, among people that praised him was eric holder. what about this document was inrack rat? they hoped you wouldn't read it, even the summary and move on from it. >> ainsley: as heated as this election cycle, everyone needs to take a step back and question if the information released is factual. >> steve: that is why it is great we have the durham report. he did investigateing and we have answers.
