the stand. >> i am glad i can put you on television and have you answered tough legal questions. i look forward to having you again. tomorrow night, senator james langford from oklahoma is joining us. they have proposed legislation to address the crisis. have a great evening. sean hannity is next. >> thanks for being with us. welcome to hannity. it is a big week straight ahead. more breaking news from the durham report and chuckie todd is calling on the fbi to be held accountable, kind of laughable. new developments surrounding hunter biden's property claims
6:01 pm
and breaking news about hunter and the irs and with less than two years ago until the 2024 election, democrats are playing the race card. they are trying to vilify the state of florida. all eyes are on the biden white house where joe is still refusing to come to terms on a debt ceiling that is eminent. according to democrats, the sky is falling. it is all kevin mccarthy's fault when it is anything but kevin mccarthy's fault. why do democrats care so deeply about this when mccarthy was begging the white house day after day to sit down and negotiate this? take a look. >> we have to negotiate. our government is designed to have compromise. he is the president.
6:02 pm
he is playing with the financial markets of america by saying he would not negotiate. let's be rational and reasonable and sit down and negotiate. >> he told congress we were going to meet. at the democratic retreat, he told the democrats we were planning meetings. he has never had one. time is ticking. he needs to come to the negotiating table instead of put us in default. >> the white house has been stonewalling kevin mccarthy. they ignored him over and over and they refused to answer the phone and according to democrats, there would be no negotiations, our way or the highway. >> we will not be doing negotiation over the debt ceiling. >> the president's position is simple.
6:03 pm
congress needs to take action without hostagetaking. >> we need to take the threat of default off the table. >> we are not going to negotiate. >> it is going to be difficult to negotiate with someone who has those legislative terrorists on their team. here is the timeline. the facts are on kevin mccarthy's time. these are facts that the biased media mob will never give you. four months ago, the press secretary announced there would be no negotiations. on january 20th, mccarthy reached out to begin talks. they refused over and over again. in april, mccarthy delivered a dire message warning the default was near. on april 20th, house republicans
6:04 pm
did their job and passed a limit save grow act that raise the ceiling and cut spending by returning to the 2020 spending levels. capping future growth to only 1%. that bill was scored at a responsible for $.8 trillion in savings. this came as a shock to democrats. they didn't believe the republicans could come together. they were betting mccarthy would fail. they bet wrong. >> he will not say what he wants to cut because he cannot pass a plan with cuts. his hard right will demand the deepest cuts mainstream republicans will not vote for. meanwhile, he never passed any plan and he was mistaken. the president begrudgingly reached out to mccarthy but
6:05 pm
refused to negotiate. joe biden was missing in action 97 straight days, refusing to negotiate. in public, the white house was vilifying republicans, calling them wackos, maggie republicans, suggesting the budget bill would cause climate change, destroy the planet and melt bones. with nine days to go until the default deadline, biden is conducting last-minute negotiations. we are not going to default. that is a scare tactic of the left. the government is collecting more than enough revenue to cover its debt and social security and medicare and other important programs. there is no invisible line where
6:06 pm
the country defaults and becomes insolvent. democrats continue to play politics. this has been an optics game, a way to grandstand, to fund ra raise, mccarthy tried to hammer out a deal months ago and avoid the drama like at a adult. the federal government has become more dysfunctional than ever under joe biden. another sideshow, the default crisis, which is what this will be, he could have supported the house budget and still can. that will not happen. the bureaucrats calling the shots will never sign a bill that will cut the budget. that is not going to happen, especially one that eliminates the new 87,000 irs agents we do not need.
6:07 pm
the democrats are excited about it. another week, another crisis at the hands of biden. the border crisis, the inflation crisis, the energy crisis, caused by joe biden and his policies. let's be clear, but republicans did their job, they raised the debt ceiling responsibly. joe biden bet they would not get that done. joe biden did not do anything. if there is a default, it will be joe biden's default. jackie heinrich is with us. they played chicken for 97 days. they were betting mccarthy on the republicans would not stand united. they have been and they remain. >> the president was probably going to want the last word.
6:08 pm
biden did not give any remarks following that 90 minute meeting. he issued a paper statement and kept his update brief. the less we hear, the better things are going. there is agreement on recouping unused covid money but there is disagreement on work requirements on welfare pro programs. the democrats offered to freeze future spending and accept caps for two years. republicans want a 2022 baseline and limiting increases 1% annually with exceptions like veterans benefits. mccarthy indicated some would not like the final product but the same goes for the other s side. >> you are going to lose votes from the far left and right?
6:09 pm
>> did you ever think of the end of the day when you get into a negotiation that only one side is going to carry everything? >> no. no one thinks that. i hope when you look that the democrats said they would never negotiate, those in america would say, good job. >> mccarthy expects to speak to the president every day until this is done but he will not be waving the 72 hour rule which gives his members time to digest the bill. it also has to clear the senate. the real deadline is a lot sooner than june 1st. >> here with more, someone who knows a lot about budget deals, newt gingrich is with us. you are the last person, you and bill clinton, after the
6:10 pm
shellacking's democrats got in 1994, you sat down and you put together a balanced budget. clinton said the era of big government is over. joe biden has a radical base and they are demanding no negotiations with kevin mccarthy. i am not sure what is left for him to do at this point. >> in my new book, i outline how we did it. kevin is following the same game plan, pass the bill, stand firm, be reasonable. but don't back up. if you look at today's meeting, what has been happening, the biden team has come to recognize if there is a default, it will come down as the biden default
6:11 pm
and end his presidential campaign for 2024, so he is going to have to get somewhere. kevin mccarthy has done a great job of setting goals that the conservatives really want and are refusing to back off the core of those goals. is it going to be 100% of what they passed out of the house? no. is it going to be 80%? probably. the june 1 deadline is not a crisis. i have watched the treasury over 30 years. they can find a way to keep things going. it is important that speech or mccarthy is such a dramatic contrast with speaker pelosi. she once said you have to vote for it to find out what is in it. he is saying no matter what the pressures are, the house will
6:12 pm
have 72 hours, we will have an argument, it is going to work out and that is a huge step in the right direction. i feel good after today's meeting that they are moving in the right direction, speaker mccarthy is holding his ground, being pleasant, but being firm is the right direction. >> only 24% of americans say the national economic conditions are in good shape. two-thirds of the country are saying most democrats and congress -- it is a winning political issue on top of everything. the question is, do the people at the white house, is there anybody looking at the poll numbers, what the people are
6:13 pm
saying and how they are suffering? 90% of the american people are financially in dire straits. struggling to make ends meet. that is a lot of people. >> from the new majority pro project, 58% of the country believes a spending cut is more than reasonable. only 19% disagree. by about 3-1, the american people believe the government is so big and bloated and wasteful that attaching significant spending controls to any debt ceiling is more than reasonable and that is why the pressure on biden, if he has hope of running for reelection, he cannot be for a default or for a proposal that by 3-1 the american people oppose.
6:14 pm
speaker mccarthy and the conservatives are going to win a victory in the next few days. >> i have a radio show and if i use my radio audience as a focus group, the overwhelming majority of people calling me, talking to me, speaking out, all want kevin mccarthy to hold form. they look at the republican bill. all it does is return spending levels to 2022. they reduce baseline budget into 1%. cannot have massive increases in spending. kevin has a political problem. he has a 4-seat majority. if he were to try to make a deal with biden, he has to go back to his caucus. if a significant number of house republicans rejected, with that
6:15 pm
open up a possibility that some republicans would pass a motion to vacate and push him out if he doesn't fight hard enough? >> i don't think he is fighting hard enough. nobody on the left thought he could pull this off. i have been working with jody and i can tell you, think of the debt ceiling as step one, first spending cuts ever. we have never had real spending cuts on a debt ceiling like this. we have slowing down the ride but never real cuts. second, the second step is going to be the republican budget committee is going to propose a 10-year balance budget and they're going to show you how they are going to get there. it is going to be very real.
6:16 pm
you're going to get to the appropriations bill. they show you so many places to cut spending where institutions have lied to the american people. you will see a 1-2-3 process. i cannot think of an issue i can point to where i have been successful, my policies are working. this number, two-thirds disapprove of joe biden's handling of the economy. it is not just policy. many are raising obvious
6:17 pm
concerns about joe biden's mental and physical fitness. including mall, hillary clinton. >> he did not use the railings, jill was not with him. is that a concern? >> it is a concern for anyone. we have had presidents who have fallen. >> joe biden has more energy than any other person. she did not go with the usual he is the most energetic person and i cannot keep up with him lie.
6:18 pm
>> we have reached the point you cannot tell that anymore. hillary clinton recognizes that is a live too far. we have to be cautious. as bad a shape joe biden's end, we have to remember he has the entire government establishment behind him. the lengths to which these people will go, this guy may have lost his mind. he cannot keep a thought of who is making decisions. he is incomprehensible.
6:19 pm
his vice president is incomprehensible. we do not know who it is making decisions in the white house. he will get full support of the government establishment and full support from the media who is deeply engaged. >> for her to say age is a legitimate issue. i think they feel kind of stuck with him but on the other hand, if someone were to emerge to challenge him, it would be legitimate. rfk jr. showing up 20% in every poll. if the question comes down to it, if joe biden is the candidate for the democrats and
6:20 pm
tell me three things joe biden has done that have improved the country or are you better off than you were four years ago, i don't think many americans can answer that question that they are better off because they are not. >> clearly they are not. they have reached this late stage of the democratic party were joe biden embraces things like free health care for illegal aliens, defunding the police at a time we have historic spikes in crime, you have this lunatic war on american independence. they want their policies, they want $10 a gallon gasoline for people and every normal american knows the that will destroy their finances. when you have a party that is
6:21 pm
that unhinged and unglued from normal needs of voters, it becomes very dangerous. i don't know where they turn and you are right about joe biden and looking at someone like rfk who has managed to garner mid double digits instantly, but the establishment of the democratic party is not going to let him get the nomination because he doesn't do what they say. they are not about to let him near the controls. >> he is more reasonable than bernie sanders. appreciated. thank you. the left is doing what they do left, playing the race card. you are not going to believe the latest attack against the sunshine state. a special tuesday audience show tomorrow night. ted cruz and judge jeanine will

6:28 pm
the insistent race had nothing to do with it. horace, i will begin with you. if you look at the democrats, this is classic identity politics, a stunt, every two years, every four years. >> it is getting more poisonous. this mentality where we divide people, whether it is men versus women are whether we are talking about whites versus blacks.
6:29 pm
today's woke people, they can rephrase that. all they have to offer is fear itself. >> everybody with the brain is moving to tennessee, texas, arkansas. they are getting out of these high tax states and saving a lot of money and having a better lifestyle. i don't see anybody being discriminated against systemically in florida. do you? >> someone hasn't gotten the message to the rest of america. florida had 38 million tourists, which is a record for florida.
6:30 pm
where are they going to suggest they go? chicago, baltimore, this idea that everything is about race is worn out. ron desantis is a secret cross-dresser, that would have more energy than to say he is a racist. anybody that knows him knows he is not a racist. this is crazy. it does not loose any effectiveness at all. just laugh in their face and tell them you have to come up with something better. this is not working. >> this is their playbook. >> it is a lie that is told and
6:31 pm
told often. at some point, when do people wake up and realize they are being used? if you look at democratic run cities and states, you look at how minorities have fared, they have not done very well. they don't have the best educational system, simple basic law and order and safety and security so they can pursue happiness and their god-given talents. i asked the question, what is the left done to make the lives of minorities in america better? especially when they have governed for decades? >> the progressives ask us who we are going to believe, them or our lying eyes? more black americans came to florida to create jobs and make
6:32 pm
florida over the last years of the desantis administration a number one place for job growth for black americans. the black population is growing faster than the white population in the state of florida. what do floridians know? it is a number one destination area. people make choices. they will say it about any republican that is a threat and
6:33 pm
it will be more pernicious, far worse for people like larry elder or tim scott. >> there is nothing that disturbs the left more than people who don't fall into the already determined role for every person based on their gender, race, religion. it is absurd. i'm going to go back to this. it is time we respond with ridicule, not anger. you cannot reason with these people. so, ridicule is the best tool we have. we are a bunch of cannibals.

that is us. there you go. that is the platform. the left calling for a review of the fbi after the extremely durham report was released. we will check in with miranda straight-ahead and senator cruz and judge jeanine, a special tuesday audience show. tickets are free if you want to be part of the audience. so i choose neuriva plus. unlike some others, neuriva plus is a multitasker supporting 6 key indicators of brain health. to help keep me sharp. neuriva: think bigger.

politicized and our government is weaponized. >> trust is eroding. we are in the moment that we need a real church committee. this feels like we might be in one of those moments. >> the church committees he was referring to was a 1970 senate panel that found intelligence agencies were violating the constitutional rights of the american people. this parallels what is happening today, the durham report determined john brennan, in july of 2016 briefed barack obama and joe biden on hillary clinton's plan to near the campaign with a russian hoax.
6:40 pm
the fbi has had hunter maintenance laptop since 2019 and have yet to charge him with any crimes. john solomon is reporting the irs with a blower who alleges the agency is interfering with the tax investigation is now reporting he has been removed from the investigation, as has his team, and has been repeatedly passed over for promotion. this could be whistle-blower retaliation and that is a serious allegation. that is not hunter biden's only problem. john levine is reporting hunter took his friends private jet to his child support hearing where he claimed he was too poor to afford the payments for his child.
6:41 pm
what is the breaking news tonight? >> and he has escalated his concerns to the office of special counsel. that protects those who have been retaliated against. in the corresponding documents, he reveals there is a second whistle-blower, a junior agent who wrote last week saying for two years we have been trying to investigate charges and we have been blocked repeatedly. every time we went to our bosses, you did nothing. you left us on an island. it appears there will be more than one whistle-blower.
6:42 pm
>> the fbi whistle-blowers have been retaliated against. now irs whistle-blowers, the same thing. whistle-blower protections are meaningless. chuck todd saying we need a church committee. you give the fbi showing zero remorse when it comes to their behavior. they have interfered in the last two presidential elections. >> chuck todd is reflecting what the majority of americans think. there was a poll out that showed seven in ten americans are worried about the fbi and the politicized nation and they are worried they will interfere in
6:43 pm
the 2024 election. it doesn't seem anyone has any power, certainly not in congress, to reign the fbi. he smirks, he is arrogant, he doesn't answer questions and remember the time where he left early, told chuck grassley he had business to attend to and got on the fbi jet, which he treats as his private plaything and flew off to the adirondacks. >> the court revealed the fbi had been misusing that surveillance tool that i would argue is essential and nece necessary. it is probably time for it to

go. if they are abusing that power. if you remember the first story i did, unraveling russian collusion. the fbi has only augmented the amount of abuses. they say they take corrective action but the problems keep getting worse. there is no reason to be deterred. they never really get punished. the only way they will get punished is if someone takes a big chunk of their budget. >> i enjoyed the story about hunter about the latest child support hearings. took a private jet that could

have cost as much as six months of payments to the child, the grandchild of joann jill biden, the one they refuse to acknowledge as their own grandchild. if i were a judge in arkansas, i might take note of that. >> it came at a bad time for hunter biden. the judge who is supposed to be deciding on competing motions between the attorneys, she would not take kindly to this. this shows hunter biden lives a life of privilege, that he is given gifts from various people, especially kevin morris, his friend, the l.a. entertainment lawyer, who has a lot of money and a private jet and paid
