he understands that i have got a good chance to beat him because he doesn't criticize anybody else now. it's only me. they wouldn't do that if they didn't think that i had a chance because i think they realize i am offering folks a record of achievement that is second to none. >> lawrence: you know, this is what democracy looks like this. is the republican primary right now. there is no one that is appointed to the spot although all the polling suggested donald trump is the frontrunner, has the majority of the support from republicans. this is going to be a blood bath. history has taught us when there is a strong primary, it only makes whoever the nominee stronger, joey. >> joey: desantis said. --establishment republicans looking for someone more palatable or is this his own homegrown grassroots people in florida and around the country

and decide on a platform. not everyone running for president has the ambition of becoming president they do have the ambition of affecting what our party or republican party or conservings put out there as their platform. people like tim scott that we look and say maybe there is too many personalities. anybody can catch fire and all of them have the opportunity to effect what this party's platform is. >> lawrence: interesting point to make is this is elon musk right here. he said all presidential candidates welcome on platform. >> the most popular person is donald trump. he has truth social. allegations some rumors that perhaps at the desantis rollout that trump may come back to twitter. make some type of statement. make some type of video. i reached out to some folks in the trump camp, they say that's not true just yet. we'll have to see.

>> ainsley: bobby kennedy jr. is running for president and polling pretty well comparatively speaking. biden is getting more numbers than he is biden should be worried about this. his polling numbers according to the most recent poll and cnn poll not looking good for joe biden. so he needs to be worried and bobby kennedy said he would gladly, can't wait to go on twitter spaces, elon musk's platform. listen to this. >> now that governor desantis has worked the kinks out in that technology, we already are -- i feel badly for governor desantis because it should have been a great day in his life. i think it was marred a little bit by some of those glitches upfront. we are already in discussions with elon and i plan to go on there some time in the next couple of weeks. >> it's really populist democrat side. that's the space is he

we helped with the cost of energy and they think they find little wins here and there but when you take the full (inter breadth of the economy. traction fraction of the cars available that used to be available. the supply chain is a problem. go into the grocery store and look at price of groceries overall. nothing going on with this economy that makes people thankfully a million more people are back to work because they don't feel that regular americans that were already working but paying astronomical prices for regular things, they don't feel that what they see is that everything seems a lot more specific than it used to be. and there's less of it available. >> lawrence: i'm so sorry, ainsley. >> ainsley: go ahead. >> these numbers are so critical because we are in the middle of election season. we know the past election. people didn't stop voting for donald trump because they didn't agree with the conditions of the economy. 52% of americans said they were better off under the trump administration's economy. record unemployment, black, hispanic, small businesses growth. people were bringing in their

franchises. ordering second homes. and it's changed since then. they disagree with the tone at the time. i think this impacts this election because people aren't doing so well now. will they deal with the tone shift to deal with the economy. aaron's. >> ainsley: inflation number one issue. i'm sure steve will take a poll down there at the diner. look at your own house. if you are in debt, do you spend and spend and spend? no. you pull back. you save. if you are in a bad position, if you lose your job. if the country inflation and groceries are going up. you might not buy that pocketbook. you might not buy that sweater at the department store because you need to buy eggs to feed your family or whatever it is. you just don't spend as much. so it's pretty -- it's common sense. if we're in debt. then don't spend as much. we would love to pay for everybody's college. i would love for you to pay -- pay me back for my college and pay all your student loans. can we afford it? no. you just can't.
