the border, illegal immigration. parental empowerment educational reform, top priority of mine this last legislative session. economy, border, safety, then just freedom. just the attack, overreach and chaos we continue to see from the biden administration front and center. what is encouraging to me, bill, we continue to see huge crowds at all of the events. iowans showing up, knowledgeable about the issues, asking good questions and listening. no. 1 priority of iowans this go around pick the candidate they will beat joe biden. they are checking and kicking tires of all the candidates coming through iowa. i love they are showing up. we are just getting started.

6:06 am
single day. you have seen it from this administration. overreach, chaos, the fact, they don't think parents should be in charge of their child's education. on every issue they go to government leading the charge not individuals, americans, parents across the board, they know better than the people that they have been elected to serve. i tell ya, people want somebody that is going to stand their ground and character to say no under intense scrutiny. they want an individual that steps into the oval office after this presidential election decisive and make decisions that will get this country, and america back on track. >> bill: we just heard tim scott talk about party of parents. governor talking about state of emergency. share one thing with our viewers

6:22 am
48%. only 20% believe they are getting help from the administration. that is not good. >> no. i think that is why next year, joe biden will not be the democratic party nominee. >> bill: whoa. you are on record. >> on record. because economy, they can sweep the hunter stuff away. that has a stench. poor economy. president people feel is not up for the job certainly not next four years. i don't know what the scenario is going to be. can't have him running in november 2024. >> bill: this is what jacui does for a living. >> jacqui: who do you think it could be if not joe biden? >> you could see replay, spirit of 2020. fearing bernie would take over. they didn't want bernie to take over so engineered joe biden's nomination.

gov governor newson. governor of michigan. vice president kamala harris. cannot go with this guy in this condition after the debates in the republican party show this is a party developing ideas. a lot of the of new ideas. people want something new. >> bill: that viewpoint is in minority. if so, reply this video. >> replay it any way. >> bill: jacui knee deep in debt ceiling negotiations. you mentioned bernie sanders on cnn. >> i think if republicans are prepared to hold the entire world economy hostage, hey, mr. president you have no alternative to make massive cuts. the president does have an
6:24 am
alternative, 14 amendment is pretty clear. >> jacqui: democrats largely melting down about this bill, have not negotiated don't know what is in it. what do you think about that mixed with the polling we had earlier. 57% of americans oppose raising debt limit without spending cuts. that is the position right now of a lot of democrats trying to protect spending. >> a lot of democrats realize they can't go into election with conditions they have today. they know they are going to have to come up with something. joe biden can say all he wants about republicans. ship heading for the iceberg. can't blame it on the passengers and crew. all of it falls on him. they sit down with republicans, they vowed they would never do. it will pass congress, bipartisan support and opposition. block of republicans say no. block of democrats will say no. they will pass something.
6:25 am
my only real disappointment. they will put it off of 2024. i would like one more bite at the apple for spending restraints. another thing, get rid of irs agents. >> bill: may have some luck. biden verses the voters. that is the point. >> good stuff. fact of the matter is ultimately public opinion prevails. white house can spin it all they want. >> jacqui: do you see us getting downgraded? >> even if they do, the markets make their own decisions. i'll be blunt. more about publicity. no impact on the market. they do these things second by second. >> bill: love it steve forbes, he came to play. june 1 is next thursday the deadline.

desantis in my ear. >> we rank no. 1 in educational freedom. [applause] >> we rank no. 1 in parental involvement in education. [ cheers and applause ] and rank no. 1 in higher education affordability. no tuition increases at our state universitys in a decade. we are going to keep it that way. [applause] part of the reason we are able to do that is because while we embrace home school parents and provide more support than any state, we also understand it is not something every parent can do. when it came time to make decisions during covid, follow t crowd, advocate your office to

dr. fauci or stand up to make sure kids are in school. we made sure using our authority every school district starting summer 2020, every school had to be open for in-person instruction. parents had the ability to send their kid to school in person. we knew it was the right thing to do. media lying about it. the left was lying. even some republicans were very weak on it. we did the right thing. now nobody wants to admit they wanted to lock kids out of school year and a half. you have seen results 2020-2022 people have totally vanished from some of these urban school districts across the country. chicago 25,000 fewer students than 2020. los angeles 43,000 fewer students. new york, 50,000 fewer student
6:38 am
than in 2020. in florida, our school enrollment is up and our home school numbers are up. [ cheers and applause ] but you think of a place like chicago. these kids you are more likely to get shot than you are to get a world shot education in some of these places. what they have been doing is total ly destructive. school unions trying to say it was too dangerous. and yet in may, late may 2020, they started to do george floyd protests, blm riots came out of that. people are saying wait a minute if you can't do school because of covid, people have to stay in their homes because of covid, how is it okay to have thousands
6:39 am
of people crowded together to do these protests and many of them became riots. you had health bureaucrats said you shouldn't have kids in school, shouldn't have economy open, absolutely should be out protesting regardless of covid. that is when you knew this was all a total fraud. they were using political ideology and control your behavior. they wanted to lock the kids out of the school, not because it was too dangerous to have the kids in school. they didn't want to have to have kids in school. we showed and blew up that entire narrative in florida standing against it. when you saw the rioting going on in minneapolis. i called out our national guard. we were not going to let florida cities happen. it will never happen here. [applause]
6:40 am
we have to be honest about the destruction we have seen throughout our country particularly in these urban areas and put interest of school unions ahead of interest of parents and students. education is important issue as a governor, i know how important it is for the state. i also look at it through the lens of being a father, six, five and three year old. my wife and i really believe in our bones in the rights of parents to direct the education and up bringing of their kids. supreme court decision reigns in biden administration overreach narrowing which waterways protected by clean water act. the supreme court's decision in sack it vepa is a victory for ranch owners. ruled in favor of americans he says, specifically the court ruled in favor of an idaho couple epa blocked building a home near wetlands. white house is not pleased with this ruling. >> court's decision aims to take our country backwards and jeopardize sources of clean drinking water for farmers and millions of americans. clean water act is the reason why america's lakes today are swimable.
6:44 am
>> this is the second decision in the pass year that chips away at the agency's authority. conservatives calling into question another epa proposal aimed at getting more to switch over. asking to reverse proposed rule before it is made final. that will almost certainly face legal action just like these other cases. >> bill: more to come, grady thank you so much. earlier this hour talked about to iowa governor kim reynolds education and parent's rights. that is the topic desantis is on. take you back there. >> you have narrative and left trying to jam this in. make no mistake, they don't want

the parents involved in education. they don't want the parents involved in education they view you as an impediment to ideological agenda to indoctrinate kids with their agendas. sorry, i choose our beliefs as parents over beliefs of ideological left. [ cheers and applause ] sdd! >> it is important we are stanting up for the rights of parents to be involve. it is not about me, this is a team effort. we got involved in school board races, 29 conservative school board candidates win election. they are making a big difference. [ cheers and applause ]
6:46 am
we also understand our school system should be about educating kids not indoctrinating kids. that means we have gone on the offense against toxic ideologies like critical race theory. we eliminated that in our k-12 schools. we are not teaching kids to hate our country or each other with your tax dollars. it is important we are clear about that. also important to say okay that is not what you want out of education, what are you for? what do you want to see in education? we put emphasis american civics back in classroom as a focal point of education. now offer a great course. it is a 50-hour course for teachers, they can take if they take it they get a $3,000 bonus. hillsdale college, all these
