let's dig in de a chow down day a take a big bite day, a perfectly delicious day. everythi love my new teeth dayo you're clear. >> choice day is the daynsti.on. everything is back on the menu. a clear choice day changesppy me every damoy. >> schedule a free consultation . >> good evening. this is fox news tonight. and i'm trey gowdy. monday is memorial day, the day we celebrate the sacrifice ofay. those who lost their lives and more for our country. it's goohe ho lost d to honor and celebrate service, too, which is why we have a day set aside in november, veteransin day, to do that. but memorial day is about sacrifice, the ultimate sacrifice, the giving of your life for your country and your fellow citizens. it shoultizens.d be , in part, y of introspection on veterans
10:01 pm
day. we can express our thoughts and feelings and wait for the response. there is no response on memorial day. those we honor are dead, which leaves us to supply both d sides of the conversation. i spent some time studying our the deadliest battles in our history, the battles which required the most sacrifice. i wondered what it was like to be a teenager sent to europe. during world war one probably never crossed an like to ocean and for many they only crossed the ocean oncecr they're buried somewhere in france or belgium or england, we sent them to liberate a continent, to liberate other people, and they did what weoncere in fm to do and it cost themto d their lives. world war two was a deadly war both in europe and the pacific . our young people were sent to defeat an evil axis,ii to liberat was ae a continent, fe defend people being victimized by tyrantnd s. and we sent young people to defend our own country after we were attacked.

so pearl harbor. some of those soldiers aree amot buried on the battlefield whereo they fell, others inre foreign cemeteries. we have a beautiful monument ine our own country for those nevere recoverer d a tomb, forldier the american soldier known only t o god , the tomb of the unknown soldier. memori thatal is who we honor on memorial day, which begets the question of what we are honoring sacrifice, duty, bravery, all true.ty, brav but what precisely did they die for? what was it about america thata made it worth dying?ab for? can you imagine giving your life so others can criticize you , so others can protest you , so others can speak against you , vote against you when you payyo. a steep price, you do haveen hea the right to question what you paid for. when y when you're footing the bill,ha you have earned the right to evaluate what you spent. these men and women who gave
10:03 pm
their lives for our country. i am sure marvel at what current americans think this country owes them. those who simply ask thatthose their remains be returned home or there be a marker where a mother or a child or a spouse could visit in some foreign land. toey have earned the right to wonder to question what this country has become, or maybe those who never made to age twenty one because this country sent them to fight and die would be a little more animated . maybe they would askse, dinthemg really die? so you could embarrass yourselfo on twitter? diurself on d we really not evet to age 20 so you could diopagate misinformation under some nom de plume? did ween make really give it a you can wait on others t to provide everything foo r you ? i wonder if they might ask, togecially those laying together in some mass grave beside a battlefield, do we really lie together here soere you can fight with one another
10:04 pm
back home? ouat's the question we should ask ourselves. have wrshave we become a countrd of the price pai bd so many in the wars waged? is this the america you dreamedm of when you fell?erof w wahes itn worth it? where we worth it? are we worth it? one thing you will see if you study the deadliest battles in our history is how many of them happened right here. americans killing americans in civil war. it's a cautionary reminder that we are capable of being our own worst enemy . whicre capable of doing what no one else can do, which is to feed ourselves. ial day so on this memorial day, to honor those united and sacrifice united in death, perhaps we can make an effort m to bane a little more united in life, have all the differences we want to have, and debate them with the greatest passiono . just remember, your freedom to express yourself was

10:07 pm
and defend its democracy with less and less sacrifice over the decades. to g succeed.i fought in two wa. a lot of what americans don't even understand that i fought in iraq and afghanistan. the collective amount of people that died in those two wars probably doesn't touch the first or second bull run. a un and so that doesn't mean those lives don't matter. that sacrificehe wasn't worth it. it means that we are s wecond e. such a amazing we may be in the greatest time of this country's existence. yes. things feel terrible.test t i mean, weim look at, likehingse you said, twitter, people arguinwe look g with each otherr things that really don't matter. i don't know that they would say, was it worth it? i have faith in them. and i know enough of them to know that. they would say not only is ity worth it, but it worked.rth it b and i hope you don't go to a place where you have to dope u that yourself, that your kid ds don't have to die on ath battlefield. our kids't have toat home or ab. when people say thank you for your service, i've started saying back to them, thank you for being worth serving.tl efieldand i don't just say that
10:08 pm
because i believe every single personst say t is doing things e worth serving, but it'ses a win win for me. if they are, i got to say it to him and it made me feel good. but if they're not, they have ai to go think about thatt .they h what does itav mean in their heart? they feel like maybe they weren't worth serving. well, they make better decisions tomorrow. they treat people better tomorrow. i love this country and i can'tr ensay that if i'm not willing sa let everybody in it, evil notwithstandiny g, have to agree with someone to want to go fishing with them or enjoyto goi a ballgame. i knowg or to agree with them sn on things that i'm very passionate about, like secondd amendment rights or fiscal responsibility. but i have to agree with them that this country is good, good in its heart, goodness, soul and goodness. people and i travel this country and speak to groups of people all over it from different industries and non-profits. and no matter what their politics, there are so many good people in this country. i refuse to believe that the squeakiest wheel gettingo a the grease represents the majority of people. i think most peopl good in e i don'terent hands are devil's playground. i think most people arints. e busyther living their lives doinge ase

situation. from the very beginning. and now a whistleblower hasrwar comean forward and said that the opposite of what the fbi told us is the truth and that actually those pipe bombs were inoperable. inhey otherwere words, they wee bombs, hoax bombs, and yet the then head of the washington field office told us that there were viable bombs and that they had posed tu a threat to bystanders and people around this y rds terrifying everybody in tn area. and then the second thing we've discovered is that, in fact,th they did identify an individualt who left that the scene gotto te onto the metro and then go mt into a car and they identified that car . and so it just beggars belief. and the republicans later talk has a quote from an assistantast director of the fbi who said thi that with that amount ofrmation information, it is incredible

that i haven't picked someone up. and also considering how ,of the you know, all the resources of the fbi went into geo locatingio mobile phones, cell phones thatr were there ae t the capitol on january six . 6and rounding up people, not innocent or not innocent, allwha around the country who happen to be in washington, d.cppshing6 on january six . 2020 one to see the president speak. they've been really diligent and very good at rounding up those suspects for nonviolent offenses. and yet this pipe bomb, which is supposedly was a weapon of mass destruction and has eluded them so there is something fishy about it. and whether it was a false flag operation or whatever it was, i think the republicans are, i owed even a background briefing. it doesn't have to bpublicane ee led out to the public. but we need to know whether this is some sort of fishyto bel

going to speak and before, you know, the riot happened, what would be the motive?happ well, itened would be to divertb police resources froe m the capital to this area several blocks away. and who would have the motive to do that? well, i guess the people who attackedthat the capital wo, but also maybe somebody else would who wanted to create a situation where the capital riot happened and where the capitol police were overrun. >> i'm with you .quest itfo is not an unreasonable request for the house judiciary committee. to get an update on an investigation. this old and i'm a little surprised that they had to write a letter wo get it, but i knolittle you're going to stay on the story and i will to thank you for joining us tonight. on the thanks, trey. >> if you already don't like to to fly, you might want to go get something to eat or drink right now foght wantr those who the worst thing that couldon happen on a plane would be a middle seat or a talkative neighbor, there is somethingethg
