when it gets dangerous. rachel: yeah, no question. will: rachel, you many h a fascinate -- you had a fascinating interview earlier with a whistle blower talking about migrants being put up in hotels in new york city and includes everything from violence to drunk children. you had amazing interview with a man named carlos arriano who worked at this hotel where some of the pictures are coming from. he supplied some of the pictures and there's video. what he had to tell you a bit earlier, rachel. >> we find fake passports, fake social security cards, all kinds of fake documents in this hotel every day. every day we find about 10 kids alone in their hotel rooms either drinking or doing drugs with weapons will be in the room. we're not allowed to go in there. if they are kicked out of the hotel, they get sent to a processing center at port authority where they get given a second hotel.

so say a husband decides to beat his wife up. he will get kicked out and they will just process him into a single men's hotel. so it's -- you break the law, it's not a we're going to report you to proper authorities. it's let's give you a second or third hotel room and you still stay in the city. rachel: they're a protected class, if you will. we've seen that in history before as well. at the beginning he said we see fake documents. he was responding to a question i asked him about the children in the hotel. we see 10 year-olds, he said that -- it wasn't just like one incident with a 10-year-old drunk. they are constantly seeing children with no supervision and i asked hip, you know, there are parents around. do you know those are their pans, the ones that are -- pans the ones taking care of them. he said no, there's fake documents and we can't verify that. this is a really, crazy, dangerous situation we have

here. joey: this highlights the idea that when we talk about abuse of children and some of the more heinous things that border patrol agents see. it's like americans think that just stops at the boarder and doesn't come on into the country and continue to happen. talking about a husband beating up a wife, a 10-year-old drunk. that's abuse of the worse kind and if we can't stop that here what, are we doing? will: absolute chaos. rachel: he talked about the ingratitude he's a young man working in the hotel and he ended up quitting. but just he was disgusted by the fact that the american taxpayer is providing this. this is the way they treat these rooms and just the sense of entitlement that he got from these migrants and again, what could be more entitled than you break the law and they just process you and put you in another hotel. sending the wrong message to these new migrants, illegal

world, you're likely to make really bad choices and make a lot of policies that are incredibly costly and help very little. will: that's a great point and not the inability to make a persuasive argument that i see when i see this craziness. it's the thought, belief, faith-held belief they're dealing with an existential crisis. we're murdering the world and everyone is going to die. >> if this was a meteor hurdling towards earth we should drop everything else and focus on that one thing. it's not. this is a world where climate change is one problem and economist only had one guy getting the noble prize and estimated the total cost about 4% of gdp. something but certainly not 100% and it's a problem among many many others and most of this world is suffering from curable diseases and hunger and poverty and bad education. all the other problems that we also need to fix. if we focus exclusively on climate, it means we're both

throwing away a lot of money badly and means we get -- will: you have a new book an that exact topic? >> i do. in the new book we say instead of focusing on climate, what's some smart ways to spend money and do amazing round of good. called best things first. if you do these 12 amazing things so education, ta tuberculosis and so on, if you do them, it'll save maps and pick the poor part of the world $1.1 trillion richer. how is that not the best thing to co. will: it's so interesting and all the things with climate change and the policies in pursuit of climate perfection hurt the poorest. >> absolutely. they need to get out of poverty just like we got with fossil fuels. eventually we need to fix climate change and honestly if your kid is dying tonight from easily curable infectious disease, that's what you want to

alex holt, darryl boyer and sydney. alex, you're a florida dad with 6-year-old twin, independent, tell me who you're supporting in the republican primary. >> being a floridean, it's pretty easy to make that call. having gotten to live the last five and a half years here in florida with ron desantis as governor, it's not really a hard choice. guest governor they can remember, i'm 39 years old. really just the best elected politician that i've ever got ton witness and i'm just excited that the last five years have been as successful as they have down here. you know, i want that for the country. rachel: keeping that with you, alex, for a quick answer. the state of florida, there's no question that ron desantis did a good job but under donald trump we had the greatest economy this

country has ever seen. what are your thoughts on that? >> i would say that it's easy to have a good economy. i mean i would judge desantis' performance -- economic performance during the covid years when the vast that jordyty of the country was -- majority of the country was struggling. his policy decisions here in florida allowed us to thrive during that time. my kids got to be in school, my company could still do well. i don't think there's -- to me that's the same. rachel: darryl, i saw you shaking when i talked about the trump economy. there's a battle going on between ron desantis and donald trump over the litigation of how covid should have been handled. lot of people happy with how ron desantis handled it in florida but to be fair to the president, he allowed governors to make those decisions. you didn't do a federal mandate saying everyone had to lockdown. he said every state should decide and ron chose wisely.

>> yeah, and i think ron desantis' leadership has been great. here in florida we've been playing defense to protect our state from the inadequate leadership in the white house. now more than ever, i below that servant leadership is essential to our nation. i'm very proud of my former congressman now governor ron desantis. recently he inspired me to step up to the plate and serve to protect my state and i announced my candidacy to run for florida state house. rachel: okay. all right, sydney, let's go to you. you're a gen z voter, recent grad. where do you weigh in on this as a floridean? >> yes, i think governor ron desantis has been a great governor of course and he's governorred very well here and going into 2024 and i am still supporting president trump and i just think that he should get another four years. i think just based on all the work that he did when he was in the white house.
