great country america. bye. that was cute. joining me now the kick off the summer season jessica tarlov as well as tyrus , with all that lingered on yahoo want to. i want to get your reaction to this poll out of the wall street drug, adrenal said that 38% of the people that responded to this post that patriotism was very important. and only 39% said that religion was very important. um just cause does that surprise you that not only patriotism is under attack, but it seems like religion as well in the sense of people just aren't that patriotic anymore, and they're not that religions. well the decline in organized religion has been going on for a long time. it's been replaced for a lot of people. if you look at the breakdown in the polls, especially on the democratic side with spirituality that people actually have an an increase in the amount of spirituality in their lives, and i think that that's a wonderful thing like i myself am a reformed jew, but i believe more in that there's
12:04 am
something else going on. i don't know exactly what it is whether it manifested sometimes sometimes in fate, making sure that the right things happen. things like that so that makes a lot of sense to me. in terms of patriotism. i think that we have a really difficult time defining what that means for people, and obviously there is not the same faith in our institutions. we talked about that constantly on our political, uh, catch shows and things like that, but that we don't have a unanimous view of what patriotism means. and so i think that that turns into responding that people aren't necessarily patriotic when there are definitely things about the country that they're proud of, but also some things that they're not and that they're questioning tires. i think to sum it up. we've become too successful because when you talk about religion, religion is kind of been declined because people of religion is being fallen to other things. it's like everyone's kind of built their tents if they're in the politics to where they're they're who they vote for is
12:05 am
their new religion or in function like sports teams or participation, so there is no religion takes dedication. it takes accountability and sacrifice, hard work and we've become we've become spoiled, and it's the same thing with patriotism. they don't feel there's really you can say i don't like this country. you can say this country is systemic rate. you can say all these things, and there's no consequences for it, and there's very little threats of what they're claiming. so i think it's more of accountability and responsibility are in decline. and they just you see it in different things now, but we need to get back to those things because here's the i'm not a religious man at all. i'm more of a science guy, but i respect the moral codes that come from religion and i have no problem even though i might not want to go sit in the church, but the message is that's going on and the generally being kind to each other and following those rules, i can respect those, and i think it's important to have especially in our schools. you're seeing a huge difference, just respect and getting back to where we need. so uh, is it patriotism and stuff declined as we knew it. growing up. things were
12:06 am
different. we're growing up. now. we're just very spoiled and there's no reason if you pledge allegiance to the flag, there's something wrong with you used to be that way. everyone did it, regardless of who you were, because you were we had to be ready for what was next circumstance or whoever was the leader. you still love the country. it's so true. um so there's a big debate about beer, and we all like to drink. i think, uh, so i asked the folks what are they drinking from? memorial day watch. but lighter miller like ah! miller lite. another light. yeah, i know. but like, no, no, no more bud light. low light. go, miller light the light. but really my only two options. miller lite. no, i must go. my shadow bordello. you heard her light rum. you know, i hate to be cliche. i hate to say this but water for me choice bud light and miller leighton miller lite by the light is
12:07 am
just bud light. didn't they do not respect their customers anymore? what are you drinking? i'm not a beer person. i'm sure that will shock the audience know oldie, huh? ah also despite being of considerable height on this panel and the smallest person which has never happened to me, i'm like a one drink wonder it's like the only part about oh my god. it's lightweight, totally the only like cheap date part about me is my alcohol intake, so i drink tito's grapefruit and soda is my drink and i can have one. mm. two if we're you know, going for another kid or something, but just one. yeah what are you drinking, become sophisticated in my wisdom and okay, and i have children and stuff. i like to sit on my porch in louisiana and sip on a whiskey sour. that's what i like to sip on with. just this was just a scotch grenadine. just a little bit of grenadine
12:08 am
, you know, not just sip on that. and as far as my beer goes, man, i've been hooked on these loggers for awhile, but what i think is awesome. is that what bud light is finally listening to the people and it's not, and none of those people said anything about a group that was about it was how they were being treated by bud light. and i think that i think that's phenomenal to market to the people that actually drink the beer. it's just crazy to me. what do you think i'm gonna do fancy no people. casa amiga , reposado soda, lime juice. same thing every day. no hangover. that's why i drink it. it's good to have a little vanilla in it. um 75% of the people that are gonna are gonna be celebrating even though the price of barbecue and all that , um, is going up, but they still are going to celebrate. does that surprise you as well? do we need a getaway? essentially jessica yeah, i think everyone could use a break and hardworking people. it's nice. it's also just a fun holiday. i realized that we're

supposed to be reverential about those who have fought for the country and i hope that people do take the time to acknowledge that. um but since growing up, everyone is psyched for memorial day on. officials started the summer get out there, and everyone likes to grill. right i love to. i got about 15 seconds. that's the point. that's america. no other country going through what we're going through inflation and cost stuff. there would be no partying, but americans like you know what? we'll get it back the next day. the that's that's why are we are remember the veterans, but also pour one up for the veterans as well. they that's what they required of us. i'm only telling what the veterans tell me. alright up next. what does the leftist media despise more than a conservative black conservative ? said it. congressman byron donald's is here to shadow the left narrative, plus oprah winfrey, the next u. s senator from california political panel weighs in next i'm going to.

face in this country and other minorities. he doesn't get it. neither does clarence. right. that's why the republicans i love him white liberals that try to educate us. black people . it's crazy. the host of the view, believe there can only be one point of view. they can't seem to understand how black men could ever run for office as a conservative, conservative values. they do a disservice not only to the senator tim scott, but to the growing number of black americans who feel like the democratic party simply isn't listening to us and don't have our back. my next guest is all too familiar with the left narrative for the congressman byron donald's joins me now, congressman, um you know, i can take a lot of things that i love a fierce debate, but i'm not going to prove myself to a white progressive. i just simply won't do it. look i agree with you, lawrence. people always ask me like who you know, is a black republican. where does most of your your issues come from? where does most of the
12:15 am
heat and the fire come from? and i always tell them the same answer. it's white liberals like white liberals are the ones who cannot possibly fathom . it doesn't compute in their brains. why a black person might also be conservative, while black person would be a registered republican and support republican policies to them, it makes no sense at all. but here's the reality. it doesn't have to make sense to them. i didn't ask any white liberal about what i should do when it comes to politics. when it comes to the party. i choose to run under. when it comes to the votes that i choose to take. what i use is common sense. what i use is economics . what i use is the constitution what i use or the things that actually promote. human liberty and human prosperity and progress. those are the policies i choose to follow and apply myself, too, but when they lash out like this, it's important to push back at them. this is why i'm very clear with joy behar. i don't care about your opinion, and frankly, nobody does. it's so true. uh congressman, i
12:16 am
think there's an opening here. i mean, the black folks that i eat with and talk with and go to the barbershop, with their so frustrated with what's happening to the country right now. they were doing great with their businesses, um, that we were having legitimate conversations about how to grow and be better and financial. um literacy in all of these conversations. now it's been brought to a halt. by joe biden's policies. so should the republicans really pushed the gas and set up in rows in black american communities? i totally agree. and frankly, lawrence is , it's about 40 years overdue. this is this has

issues and talk about what alls people in their own community and in black america you would be surprised how many black americans say that makes sense. that's something i can get behind and support. lawrence: i want to get your take on this episode. i have been talking about the craziness that's been happening on college campuses. now we have the proof of what this crazy professor just did. i want to play this clip of the professor threatening a "new york post" journalist. >> let's get out of here. she went arch the pro-life students first. then they put a machete up to the reporter's neck. why are we funding these colleges? we shouldn't be doing it. >> this is a problem. this particular issue is just horrendous. taking a machete out and taking it to a reporter's neck.
12:19 am
so i just thought that was outrageous. when you mutt that with how she was threatening those students who just have pamphlets, finally that's going to occur. it only took videotape to do it. we have a bigger problem on college campuses. we have professors who are so tied into their ideology that they cannot allow for any other thought to ma industry cue late. they do not want debate. they don't want to have a disagreement and go through the process of discovery and explanation. they they just want you to fall in line. if you don't fall in line, then they lash out by using a machete or suppressing speech on college campuses. both are very destructive of the country. lawrence: so true, congressman.
12:20 am
you are a great messenger for liberty. i appreciate you coming on the program tonight. now back to the growing battle for 2024. another week and another round of candidates have joined the race on the gop side with even more to come. all have supporters so we ask you what you are looking for in this election. watch. >> right now i would say desantis, he's playing a nice game of chess the way he's doing things in florida. do i agree with him? no. i'm not really a trump fan. but i was when he was on the entertainment side of things. i'm not really a joe biden fan. and i'm a registered democrat. i am seeing some things with him i feel is not good for leading this country. whoever leads for both parties or every party, i hope that they
12:21 am
have a focus on the country as a whole. >> they could find somebody in that middle area. >> probably to be younger. >> somebody younger and more relightable. >> to put america first. >> i'm total agree with helping other countries and i'm okay with that. >> somebody who makes an effort to do that. >> we are supposed to be the united states. >> instead of all this craziness, the democrat right wing republican, that has to stop and the next president has to work on that mainly. lawrence: joining us. mark levin and leslie marshall. are the democrats going to allow a debate to take place so you
12:22 am
can get a better option or are you just going to hand pick them? >> a couple of things. first of all, i like my option. i don't believe any poll even when it says what i like. even when it says what i want it to say. i just don't believe in the polls any more. a good example is the polls that came up saying there would be a huge sea of red, a tsunami they said. and that didn't happen. and that's not going to happen in the next election either. there won't be a tsunami of red. real quickly, leslie, i think this is an important conversation to have. do you believe 70% of americans who feel like we are heading down the wrong path with joe biden? >> if i believed that then i have to believe the more than
12:23 am
60% or 60%, depending on which poll you look hat of americans who don't believe donald trump should run again. there are people right now, back rooms hoping it's ron desantis, but fear it will be donald trump. they will back him and vote for him and hold their nose again like they did in 2016. there are democrats who wish joe biden wouldn't run again but they will vote for him when they see what the alternatiave is, especially when it's reproductive rights. when they see what th alternative is, and they are not as happy with the way things are in their america. lawrence: i want to go over to the republican side, ron desantis had a rollout this
12:24 am
week. a little choppy and boring in my opinion. when he did this interview with trey he started to present some of the issues. but i still don't think it's enough to go against that trump base. it seems like the republican party at its core is still on the trump train. >> i would say we are til very, very early. trump is still enjoying a sugar high. i would push back against claims that the twitter rollout will have any impact on governor desantis. the news cycle is so fast nobody is going to remember there was a glitchy rollout. as long as he rights the ship going forward trump has vulnerabilities on the right. he will have to answer why he empowered fauci and locked down
12:25 am
the country. and why he signed the first step act and allowed hordes of criminals out on the streets. he will have to explain why he nominated his children into senior positions in his administration. we'll see if that begins to dent the trump base. >> those are fair points to bring up in debate. but all that stuff is out there. we are talking 50% of republican voters are still going with donald trump. >> we'll see. i think most americans aren't paying attention right now to the granular details. trump has universal name i.d. but americans need to get acquainted with ron desantis. they don't know about his record
12:26 am
as governor in florida. he turned red areas -- blue areas like miami-dade county. and trump lost by 7 million votes and lost states like arizona and georgia which republicans don't normally lose. lastly, i want to get your reaction to oprah being considered for dianne feinstein's seat. leslie, is that the way to go? >> first of all i love you, lawrence. i do live in california, but that's not the way to go because it's not happening. a couple of things here, first are of all, oprah winfrey would go for a much higher seat. second of all, our governor gavin newsom said he would pick a woman of color and
12:27 am
specifically an african-american woman. he did say black woman. he would pick a woman with more experience. there are a number of those in our state to pick from already. miss winfrey is great at what she does but she doesn't have a political background. and i think she would want a bigger slot in the senate. >> i like oprah. i have to agree with leslie. it's probably not going to happen. but there may be some validity in considering it. she came in with 100% approval rating. and she could be a place holder. >> i just love that we are selecting candidates by their skin color. i don't know if anything is more racist than deciding on someone based on the way they look.
12:28 am
i like for them to be selected on merit. coming up as millions plan their summer vacations, could an organized crime ring be watching your home just waiting for you to leave? where the criminals are coming from and the towns they are targeting. an investigative journalist who released this video showing a ufo sighting over california will help me make sense of it all.
