carolina coast sharks have been seen and a 15-year-old surfer was even injured in an apparent shark attack. the teenager was dangling from her surfboard with their body in the water when she felt something on her leg. she was not seriously hurt, thank goodness. this fisherman captured a tiger shark attacking his kayak off the coast of hawaii. the fisherman believes the shark mistook it for a seal. only 57 shark attacks and all of last year. humans are not really on the sharks menu, we should say. people overly all overly worried about these shark attacks. >> 57 out of the amount of people that actually enter the water across the entire planet, that is quite rare, as you are pointing out. i think we are misrepresenting what shark attacks are. sharks live in the ocean, we

live on land. if someone were just to come into my house one day come into my territory, i may take a bite out of them, too. >> this is a wonderful segue. what if you are eating at home and an intruder threw themselves on top of your plate, that is what griff jenkins did to the poor sharks. the preponderance of shark sightings may actually be a good thing. this is chris fisher. ocean researcher earlier today on fox and friends. >> an increase of white sharks occurring off of our east coast. there is a lot to be celebrating over there. with that comes the balance keepers which are on the sharks. if we all just pay attention to the ocean and have a look before we go swimming, we will be fine. >> griff, you have swam with sharks before. my first question is, why did you do that with chum floating

husband is blind, he has a master diver before wounded in afghanistan, they are swimming ahead of me. the very first thing that i see is a giant shark going behind them. i do not know what it is. i don't know if it is a bull shark, nurse shark, tiger shark, i am not a shark expert. all i know i is i am so happy he had behind the shark and i'm wishing my husband and mark the best of luck. >> deep space, deep sea, not for me. >> a recent attack of a spear fisherman. ultimately, going into its kitchen, shot its food, made it bloodier and took it and then surprise they got attacked. that's how it works. >> shark eat shark world. >> ingram calls made gomez because i never stay in the sun and go away from beaches. this is part of the reason why.

[bleep] it out. >> video at their car. >> you can hear them screaming for them to get out. they never physically prevented them from stealing items or even leaving the store, but lululemon claims the encounter broke their store policy. i want to show you this quote from one of the women who was a manager, jennifer ferguson, she spoke with the love in a live local news and she said we are

not supposed to get in the way. you kind of clear a path for whatever they will do and after it is over you scan a qr code and that is it. we have been told not to put it in any notes because that may scare other people. we are not supposed to call the police are really talk about it. she was fired. an organized retail theft, that is not someone walking in and stealing something, a single person, you have organizations going in, this i think they said it was a fifth time the same group has had that same lululemon in georgia. they are a state that have enacted penalties on organized retail theft. lululemon is saying you cannot even call the police. it kinda feels like they are an accomplice to the problem. >> talk about no good deed goes unpunished. you can hear them on the tapes and get out, get out. there is a policy that they cannot do that. now they lose their job. this is outrageous. you do not want to put yourself

in harms way. the same principle as if you get mugged on the street and they want your wallet. you can get a new wallet, you can get new credit cards. you do not want to lose your life. simply trying to shield them off and they did not do anything to put themselves in danger, it looked like, they just made some noise and told them to get out and then they told police. what else would you want them to do other than exactly that? >> i want to show you this quote. this comes from the lululemon employee handbook. no amount of merchandise in the story is worth putting yourself at risk for. lululemon has a zero risk policy on chasing her physically engaging with the guest when the theft or suspected theft has occurred.

i understand that into grosse pointe, that does make sense. we are talking about nonviolent crimes. when you have a nonviolent criminal, when they come out of jail, 20% of them move on to violent crimes. these nonviolent crimes absolutely can't turn violent. calling the police seems like the right thing to do. >> the recidivism rate is through the roof. because of these policies. they say they do not want their employees in danger, but employees are in danger when the policies that allow criminals to walk into the store, basically pick up all the merchandise and walk out. i used to see it when i lived in the d.c. area in northern virginia. i would go into a grocery store and i would watch as thieves walked in grabbed is much slicker, usually liquor, grabbed a beer or the wine, and everybody would stand back and let them through. that becomes a problem. then the neighborhood becomes infested with criminals. you know, it does not make any sense to me that the employees,

the employer wants to protect the employees when they allowed the criminal free access to everything in the store. it is backwards. >> i completely agree. harsher penalties do not necessarily have an impact on deterring crime. what they approve it does deter crime is when you have a criminal that knows there is a high likelihood that they will be swiftly prosecuted and then there will be consequences, that is not what is happening in cities all across the nation. >> they should change their name to looter lemon. [laughter] throwing up their doors to anyone that wants to come in and steal. there is something deeper here. not only incentivizing more of this criminality, more of this reckless looting, but you are, as sarah said, endangering your employees and the customers of lululemon and any other store with this kind of policy.

you need a hard deterrent at some point. like daniel penney in the subway of new york, why are we penalizing good americans, firing them, prosecuting them? >> the people going in and stealing, nothing. >> they don't look like they are going to do yoga. >> no, they don't. >> i will just walk into lululemon for some new clothing. >> remember san francisco, they made it known so criminals could steal up to $900 inside a convenience store. people got together in groups, each one stole about $800. they do a price check and they walk right out that store. now we have store shutting down. the sad thing is, this is in neighborhoods that are desperately needing. >> a great point. i was just complaining to raymond 10 minutes ago. i need allegra because of allergies. i went over to walgreens and i had to wait 10 minutes because they lock it up because it's

actually having these harsher penalties? what is the purpose of legislation if you are not going to enforce it. >> cut all the boy trees down. [laughter] >> we have too many topics in this segment. >> you brought up a really great, great point here. what will happen is these stores will shut down. the communities will be depleted. we are left with this big question. you talk about the law and enforcing the law. these companies don't want to enforce the laws. somehow they have enforce the action with the mirrored woke ideology. believe me, that is where this is going. they don't want to do anything because they are afraid -- >> what i see troublesome, raising children, i'm raising boys, i am teaching them certain things. you have to respect the law. you keep seeing these stores, you can shoplift, no penalties for it.

the columnist writes "it is no secret that this is a an admissions tactic." research programs predominantly display this on client's websites. they have gained admissions into harvard, oxford, princeton and stanford. wow. this was never even in my lexicon. let me explain something. i feel like i am the majority of americans. my mother worked in a factory. i never knew it was even possible to do anything beyond making really good grades and then working extraordinarily hard to try to get into which was my junior college, which i felt really proud of. i went to the junior college first and then i applied to ucla, got into ucla, did not finish and then went to a cal poly pomona. i did the runaround think that many american students do and then i graduated. i was very proud and i worked really hard.

let me ask you this. doctor nicole safire, how do you feel about this? paying the 10,000, i think writing an essay is awesome and writing a book is amazing, but having parents actually paid to publish that, that seems kind of weird. >> i hate to burst people's bubble, but this is not new. you have academics doing this, scientists, doctors, educators. yes, a lot of peer-reviewed where you do not pay, but plenty deal. it is a little bit nefarious. i have a little disclaimer. i just published a book with one of my children. he said he is not applying to college anytime soon. we wrote that is what family is for for many different reasons. not having college admission in mind. it really is upsetting. it is taking us away from this meritocracy that we have tried so hard to instill in our children that hard work pays

off. unfortunately, when they do stuff like this and unravels everything. promoting a lady society. entitled, lazy society. >> i have one who graduated, one in college and one about to apply now. for those that think college is a scam, here is another adjacent graph. [laughter] this is ridiculous. what is really bothersome here is as they throw out act and sat scores, and objective read on where the student is, we are now replacing it with all of this auxiliary motel ariel. your mission trip, your essay, your government that you served on, this becomes really important. paying an agency to get a peer-reviewed article, it becomes a big deal.

♪ welcome back to the big sunday show. we are honoring those fallen service members who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our country. >> there is a lot to think about on memorial day that makes you proud for our country that we have people that will sacrifice for this place that they believe in and makes you proud that they have families that will continue to live the legacy of the person that they lost. the day makes me proud, it makes me sad and proud. sometimes i hear taps and i literally cannot hold back the tears because i've heard it so

he said i will never leave a man on the battlefield. he went back and picked up every one of those soldiers. i used to follow him at the wall. the unit got smaller and smaller every year. i am sure there are few left, but not many. standing on normandie beach a few years back on the 75th anniversary, laura ingram and i went, we did an interview with the president at the time. at night when you stand there in the stillness and see those 9388 headstones, it does take your breath away when you realize beneath every one of those is an 18-year-old american, 19-year-old american whose life was cut short so that our lives could prosper in our country could continue. that is what this day is really about and should be about. beyond barbecues, it is about

freedom you enjoy under the stars & stripes. after all, there is no telling when you will find yourself missing the america you take for granted. >> you know why he had to put out this op-ed, because a couple years before she was imprisoned in russia for bringing illegal substances in, she made the stance at the national anthem should not be played at any of the wnba games and she said she would not stand or be present on the court if it was. and then you have the united states of america getting her out of a russian prison, now she is okay with the flag. i really appreciate it when you don't actually have to need the government to actually appreciate them. my 10-year-old plays the trumpet. he just learned how to play taps this year and a school does a big tribute to the veterans. it was beautiful. one thing that i do find frustrating is, you know, you have awareness month, your pride month, but we have memorial day and maybe we get a weekend and

that weekend is so diluted to the kickoff of summer. missing the point. >> memorial day for gold star families is every day. you know that all too well, sarah. >> yeah, i do. i spent a lot of time in afghanistan on the frontline. my husband lost his eyesight in 2011. almost lost his life. and our friend brian lost his life in 2016. he left behind three children and a wife. you know, when you think about the sacrifices that people are willing to make, it is okay that britney griner learned later what the importance of that was.

our soldiers go there voluntarily. they go there because they know what they are fighting for and they do not expect anybody to give them anything. these are our unsung heroes and the people that care about instituting that in our country, where would we be now 50 years from now if we do not have the people in our military fighting for us right now? >> so important. the respect for these fallen heroes. we really did not deserve memorial what hundred memorial day the way we do in d.c. they remind us -- as far as miss griner is concerned i'm thinking of paul weyland, the marine we left behind in russia. that is what we should have done, the arms dealer swap with, not for britney griner. >> we have to go. i just want to bring attention. this is a dear friend of our family. he graduated high school right after 9/11. he spent several years in baghdad and kuwait. came back home suffered severe ptsd and took his own life. since then his mother has been trying very hard to raise awareness for veteran suicide and ptsd.
