crashes. in defense of this country, of course when we hear that, we think of bunker hill or normandy or the frozen chosen at a chosen watch for. perhaps even the invasion in afghanistan in 2001. we have seen good men and women leave behind wives and husbands, sons and daughters, long life i had to go die in a war. as we should we order them. i have thousands of blood brothers from the war on terror myself not because we still share the same blood but because we spilled our blood fighting for the same cause. for america. for you. so memorial day is a day we recognize that an honor it. again, as we should. but what about our actions? what do we do to honor them? do we think about their sacrifice before we tweet something hateful or before we slap the political bumper sticker on our car? do we have them in our minds when we show up in november and vote for people? most of whom have never served to pick our leaders.
5:02 pm
to our politicians, of course fancy themselves fighting patriots have ever fallen in mind when they argue legislation or vote on bills or allow the executive branch full authority to send the next wave americans to die. kevin mccarthy, the house speaker, struck a deal this week that will slow or reduce some of the spitting on capitol hill that has the country and $30 trillion of debt and many fiscal conservatives in an uproar. as the talking points and messaging came flowing downstream from congress with glowing reviews and explanations of how they will limit frivolous government spending, one set of exceptions seem to come up with pride. they did not cut or stymie defense spending, or the va budget. no, most conservatives believe in a strong defense and in rhetoric at least, saying we should take care of our veterans. some even took exception to the lack of more money following into -- flowing into the unaudited department of defense.

hello, i'm franklin graham. you know the most valuable thing that you own? it's your soul. you have a soul. you have a spirit. and the bible tells us that we'll live as long as god lives. one day your body will die and they'll bury you. but your soul will continue to live in the presence of god in heaven. or be separated from god for eternity in hell. the choice you make today can determine where your soul will spend eternity. you know that god loves you. and he sent his son jesus christ to save us. and if we're willing to put our faith and trust in him, because he took our sins to the cross, he died in our place for our sins, and god raised him to life. if you've never invited christ into your heart, into your life, you can do that right now by just praying this prayer, just saying, “god, i'm a sinner. i'm sorry. forgive me. i want to turn from my sins. i want to trust your son as my savior and follow him as lord from this day forward, forever”"
