[cheers and applause] >> thank you all so much for showing up to make sure you were not called to the ip go to friends and fox.com for our next concert next week. >> we love turf tech. >> have a good weekend. goodbye everyone. >> thank you guys feels like summer good morning everybody will begin with ron desantis about to speak in the city of beaufort as the race for the white house enters as busy as weekend we had seen today and as we say hello on this friday good morning at home a good, good morning to you. >> dana: i am dana perino and d's are getting underway in a big way and come. >> it's in our lifeblood on the trail of republicans making the rounds in iowa and new hampshire and south carolina poster early voting states they can make a break a campaign.
6:01 am
>> they take in the case directly to voters and they are going that they are the best parties hope for the future and for retaking the white house. >> we have to bring common sense back into the country. from one point thing is i am a person with common sense. and so are the people in this room and our country needs common sense back in leadership. >> i'm running for president because i don't think there's a client of our is inevitable, we have it in our power to choose a better path. a path is going to lead to the revival of this country and a restoration of american greatness. >> dana: at least ace presidential hopefuls will be it therefore the ammo roasted right what is that? >> what is going to get pretty busy here i think barbecue and harleys in fund-raising and all sorts of other fun stuff at the iowa fairgrounds here in des moines, the two republicans in the top of primary polls they've
6:02 am
been coming to iowa over the last few days. in the former president donald trump, he wrapped up his today to her last evening in a town hall was sean hannity not too far away from where we are right now. jump to spend weeks traded criticizing ron desantis the republican closest to him in the polls. though he has a substantial lead. last night trump included some of the republicans. >> i hear chris christie is coming in. [laughter] >> he was at 6% in new jersey which is -- i love new jersey but 6% were approval rating of new jersey was the purpose and he's pulling at zero. in others are i called the eta . >> let us is former arkansas governor asa hutchinson elc is to lead the dea he is scheduled to be in iowa this weekend. so is desantis who is in iowa earlier this week campaign early
6:03 am
in an event hosted events across south carolina today. he spoke last night with paul steinhauser who asked the governor about trump's attacks against. >> some of the stuff is very juvenile and i don't think the voters wanted. i'm not getting into the gutter but when he attacks me saying that someone else did a better better job in covid in new york and florida, to fight back against that because i know that's false. >> desantis trump and hutton's and they feel like they're getting my company next week with form of vice president mike pence and chris christie and not the governor north dakota covenant all to announce the running for president. and you mentioned the roast and ride to mono. desantis of the darryl hudson cnn nikki haley, and former vice president mike pence all commented tomorrow tomorrow harleys and barbecue and unclear funding to get on a motorcycle still working that idea out. >> dana: i'm here for that contact absolutely thank you.
6:04 am
>> bill: give money to you josh, would appoint a clip in ia morning here from the town hall here and fox. desantis says folk for the help give you eight years. it shall come and says he can do job in six months and here's his matches on the economy josh. >> what can organa bring energy donald in interest rates now because interest cannot buy homes or by money and they cannot do anything now. i mean right now our economy is a total mess. and i will rebuild our military, but we have to rebuild it again. you need the power of the oval office. >> bill: seeing some distinctions between policy and the people themselves, but watching that last night i think is pretty much on point josh had a juicy? >> wild bill let the games begin because this is the unofficial kickoff now. the presidential campaign. and desantis is taking his gloves off and ciampa's counter
6:05 am
pointing and you're seeing a very interesting division right there. great desantis is taking a lot of process arguments you know. trump cannot serve for eight years, he can only serve for one more term, and was also about the fact that trump has lost a lot of elections are as candidates have lost a lot of elections in recent years but he's making a different case. he's making the case that he got a lot done as president in four years, and he's one of the few people who can actually go over the government a lot of the bureaucracy and get things done. and ultimately i think that's what a lot of republican voters right now i'm looking for, and i think that argument is resonating as we saw was sean hannity's town hall with them last night, it got a lot of applause and cheers in the room. >> dana: assessed desantis, the first week on the campaign trail efficiently, and bringing his wife who is an early start on this campaign. >> yes dana, the dissent's
6:06 am
biography of a family story is one of the governor's biggest political assets. i think he would also be well served to talk about the florida story. to talk a lot about his record as governor, and the fact that he got things done and he work with the republican legislature, and i know he made a comment this week and i love that he was responding to a lot of the donald trump attacks about that record and he mentioned that trump's own family had moved to florida during his governorship during the pandemic. so those are the type of attack lines or the distinctions that i think you can expect to hear more from governor desantis. he should incorporate that into his speeches because the polls right now show donald trump with the lead over the governor and he's going to have to talk about the florida story in the economy and how he handled covid. and how a lot of people from across the country especially a lot of blue states like california and such, new york, ended up moving the float over the last few years.

everything to tip the scales in their president's favor, below, the poor thing is very worrisome. if your democrat and you are looking at the polling that is showing almost half the democrats having worries about the president's age, you saw him stumble in colorado yesterday, and a lot of concerns not just amongst republicans across the country you put about his health, the second of the issues. or when you're basically saying were not that i have a debate or any kind of contest the conversation about it between biden and williamson and kennedy jr., it feeds into those worries that biden doesn't want to debate because he's worried about how they perform on the big stage. >> dana: also this week they don't want to campaign he gone to rely on others i don't know if that's going to work but i know who works you on a friday. take you so much for joining us as we watch what can happen over the weekend. >> happy friday and have a great weekend guys. >> thank you. >> dana: president biden will

requirement. and they secured that in that failed. and then senator tim king's to strike the provision that would speed up the completion of the mountain valley pap plant in west virginia that also failed to lay all the amendments failed which is something that senate leaders are hoping for to make sure that this bill did not have to go back to the house because again, we are under a deadline. and just let the house, this bill passed the senate with more democrat votes. 31 republicans oppose this last night. now still g.o.p. leader mitch mcconnell celebrated its passage riding thanks to house republicans house efforts they avoid the catastrophic consequences of default and begin to curb washington democrats the addiction to reckless spending that goes our nation's debt. the conservatives who voted against the deal were angry that it didn't include deeper spending cuts. lindsey graham actually opposed it because it caps defense spending and leadership chuck schumer took a moment last night to address.
6:11 am
>> i want to also dispel rumors and reassure her friends across the world about our commitment and ability to respond to emerging threats and needs. this debt ceiling deal does nothing to eliminate that senate's ability to appropriate emergency and supplemental funds. and we want to ensure that our military capabilities are sufficient to deter china, russia, and other adversaries. >> yes emergency supplemental funds is what he's talking about and then at that's actually that house republicans who oppose this bill was saying was going to happen and that congress is gonna have to find a way to get around this bill and spend but anyway i won't mention really quickly that yesterday another big moment for the all -- for the democrat-controlled senate was that they passed a bill yesterday to push back to overturn president biden's student debt relief plan. so that was a huge deal as well. so perhaps there could be some
