iowa the roast and ride event that is sponsored by senator joni ernst. eight hopefuls making their case right there senator tim scott let's listen. some doubt now in the goodness of what america would one day be. he taught me that if you have faith in god, faith in yourself, and faith in america all things are possible. thank god almighty for a man who understood the american story. and as you have heard before likely i was raised by a single mother in poverty. my mom worked 16 hour days to keep food on the table and the lights on. she was a nurse's aide. our job is changing bedpans enrolling patients. she looked at me and gave me another motivational lesson. she said we can be a victim or we can be a victoire.
11:16 am
she chose a victorious and i am so thankful she did. she also taught me that there is dignity and all work. that is why i know if you are able bodied in, you work. every single able-bodied american should go to work. and i will say this as a president of the united states i am running because i believe america can do for anyone what she has done for me. we've got to restore hope for a rethink about restoring hope i think about your governor kim reynolds who passed the most monumental choice and the history of the great state of iowa. every child should celebrate the governor.
11:17 am
i am a person who believes the closest thing to magic in america is a good education. i believe that because as a young kid i went to four different elementary schools by the fourth grade. my mom struggled to find the right school. had we had governor kim reynolds back in the day, my life would have been even better. and the kids today in this state because of her hard work but actually see their highest dreams. their greatest potential being achieved because they will be equipped with quality education. it is one of the ways we restore hope as a nation. the second thing i would do as president of the united states is to create opportunities. opportunities do not happen in washington d.c. they happen or small businesses create jobs. in the american economy rises to the occasion. those are the issues i fight for
11:18 am
the third one. as a president of the united states we must protect the america we love. that starts with our southern border. it is time to build a wall and close our southern border. eric: tim scott with the very powerful personal story of course. he's given to the voters of iowa is running on a campaign of hope and optimism for america. perhaps taking a patient ronald reagan himself in his campaign. we will follow up with asa hutchinson the former governor of arkansas. that center is also speaking will follow him when he comes on stage. house hearing next week will look into the department of homeland security handling of the end of title 42. this as a suspected corporation they are caught in texas with rifles and juveniles but will get reaction next from arizona congresswoman, there she is on

border authorities a five suspected members of a drug cartel are under arrest for this after they illegally crossed into texas.
11:23 am
they had rifles, technical gear and at least two juveniles with them. claudia has more. >> these arrests illustrate the growing turf were happening along the southern border and have kids are being recruited to control highly profitable smuggling routes. the sound we are talk about the northeast cartel. what of mexico's most ruthless criminal organizations for this individual was spotted moving through the brush. you can see from the back he was heavily armed it is if he was captured. these five were caught and arrested yesterday according to the texas department of public safety these men are suspected members of the northeast cartel and along with the weapons they had to minors with them. they were reportedly terrified. these boys 15 and 16 years old. more teenagers and younger kids are being swept up part of the mission to train the next generation of smugglers. whether they like it or not.
11:24 am
>> a lot of these individuals are being taken by force by these cartels. they're going to fight for them or be killed. so that's a lot as young teenagers the lot will be recruited and forced into these training camps. then it cartel the artwork fighting for control of territory and smuggling routes for the making their presence known in the rio grande valley and elsewhere making it even more dangerous for migrants crossing into the u.s. not to mention border patrol agents and people who live along the southern border. arthel: claudia thank you very much. right now we want to dip back into the iowa roast and ride event or former arkansas governor asa hutchinson is speaking right now. so let's listen in. >> so literally i parked my car and hitchhiked over too memphis
11:25 am
to date susan. that gave us a 49 good years of marriage. i am proud of that start. and by the way do not hitchhike. do not hitchhike. now i had the highest compliment i have ever had campaigning anywhere this last week in iowa. i campaign here in iowa at a small event and i'm shaking hands and get into a conversation with someone. and after a little visit they come to me and say you know, you seemed like a normal person. [laughter] is that not just the greatest compliment you could have customer. [applause] and guess what, iowa can spot normal from a long ways away. that is important would look at the authenticity of a candidate. who they are, what they believe in. and yes, iowa plays an important role this next year.
11:26 am
first in the nation test i will be here taking advantage of that and trusting iowans to make the right decision. so thank you for leading. [applause] and i am normal because i love an egg state. small communities that thrive on families and commitment. when you look at my background growing up on a farm and yes i learned how to clean out chicken houses. chickens, cattle, anything you could do to make a living on the farm. my dad was a usda poultry inspector. but because of education i have had opportunities in life. as joni mentioned, i've had the opportunity to serve the united states congress. i've had the opportunity to actually balance the budget in the united states congress. the last time we did as a nation and we are way overdue.
11:27 am
i served the bush administration is head of homeland security, border security respons responsibilities. transportation, protecting our country from the next terrorist attack. in times of crisis for our nation, i have been there. i headed up the u.s. drug enforcement administration as tim scott mentioned, we have a challenge with fentanyl and our country. before it started campaigning again i was here in iowa campaigning against methamphetamine. educating is saying we got to supply. the supply reduce the burden in our communities. today the challenges fentanyl but i understand the crisis that is ahead of us. as governor, came back to arkansas got elected governor and for the first time in the history of arkansas we had a republican governor with a republican legislature. [applause]
11:28 am
and we tried to follow i was example. arthel: from farm i took congress the former governor of arkansas is touting his vast experience as part of his plea for the presidency. starting at the beginning sent one of the potential voters there gave him the best compliment saying you know, you seemed like a normal person. keep an eye on this. >> i mean you are dealing with transnational multibillion-dollar organizations and they are pretty sophisticated brit rural parts of the stater started to see things we've never seen before. we have got to be able to respond to it progress arizona sheriff on the need for more resources to fight the mexican tart cartel. arizona governor katie hobbs announced $25 million more in grants to try and help authorities in the busy yuma sector do just that. local officials say that would not be necessary if the federal government is taking more action
11:29 am
meantime house homeland security subcommittee this coming tuesday will look at the department of homeland security preparations for the end of title 42 for the acting deputy commissioner for customs and border protection is among those expected to testify. what we find out arizona republican congressman part of the border security caucus joins us now. congresswoman, welcome. what do you think congress wants to investigate as it relates to the end of title 42? >> i think we want to know exactly what is going on. it does not appear the bite administration wants to secure the border. instead i believe their priority is to process more illegal immigrants into the united states. case in point and yuma, arizona what you just discussed about 15 months ago the president and secretary may orchestra promise to close the gaps in the border wall.
11:30 am
they still have not done it. i talked to the yuma county supervisor just this morning they said the number of murderers going on just across the border in mexico is really getting frightening because the different factions of the cartels are fighting for control. it is spilling over into yuma. so the tourism is down. the amount of winter visitors is down because people are afraid. farmers in arizona have to hire 24/7 security just so illegal immigrants and cartel members don't cross over their fields so they become contaminated. when you think about it this new cbp app is going to process 3000 illegal immigrants per month. that is in addition to the 30,000 that are coming and on
11:31 am
parole from certain countries and then they are increase the number of other refugees coming in. their priorities are mixed up it's really a problem. the need to secure the border. over 1.3 million fentanyl pills were apprehended just in one location in arizona last wee weekend. and they said that accounts for about 10% of the fentanyl pressing our border. we need to secure the border. >> a mi break to think you just said. first, that app. the biggest surgery that was going to come apparently has not materialized. this takes down to 70%. that is been redirected as you said to the app. 40000 a month applied to app. they come through a legal point of entry. what you are saying is they are just funneling these people officially through the app to get them into this country? >> that is what it appears like.
11:32 am
that is when the priority of the biden administration as most of the democrats all along. the more illegal immigrants here they just figure out a different system to dubai. we know with all kinds of fentanyl pills crossing the border with unaccompanied children crossing the border. they're still not letting the adults the unaccompanied children are being sent to virginia foxx is a chair of ed labor committee is going to a hearing on child labor and how they're being into that. before that is so heartbreaking so heartbreaking to go think you pointed out as a violence on the board from the cartels that require the u.s. army? or post the army on the border? should the military be brought into this if the cartels bring firepower and violence and attacks on our side of the border? >> certainly if it comes over to the american side which it
11:33 am
already has a little bit. but to the extent that it is needed, of course our military and national guard has to protect u.s. citizens there has been almost 100 people they've apprehended so far this fiscal year that on the terrorist watch list. and then they apprehended an ied i think it was douglas, arizona couple weeks ago. these are not just nice people coming over for a job. many of them are but there are dangerous people coming across our border. there are offenders. there are people raping the women, raping the girls. kids are being sold into sex slavers but cartels are not nice people they are doing this for money and they are ruthless. and so we really need to secure the border. biden, that is not his priority and that is just sad. it's a sad state of affairs. but you are right that may 6a
11:34 am
pipe bomb wrapped in an eminem box was confiscated. what is it say finally, congressman not just the people in others but a pipe bomb trying to smuggle a pipe bomb allegedly into our country? >> we need to secure the border. under president trump and yuma, arizona deck 25 -- 35 people crossing the border that they apprehended every day now it's 38 -- 500. right before title 421 awareness one -- 2000 a day. that is just in one small town in arizona. this is a huge problem. we need to secure the border for our national security. for the sake of our citizens. but quite frankly also for the sake of the illegal immigrants that are being abused and used. eric: congressman debbie lesko of arizona.

about where i was. not even once we. >> wait, wait that's the most important thing. they never asked you where you were when jimmy hoffa disappeared? >> no never did. >> is each on the truth and what did happen to jimmy hoffa scott bernstein joined us now from detroit is on the top profit case experts in the country to his website, take a look at it gangster report. i covers all things in mafia. there it is for you can listen to his podcast original gangsters he has been covering this case. scott, welcome to deceive. we just heard the words of gabe do you think he killed jimmy hoffa? >> no i do not believe he killed jimmy hoffa. >> why is that? >> i believe this was from top to bottom a detroit mafia homicide, conspiracy, disposal. i think the new jersey crime family were the tony pro guys were which was the brothers, i
11:46 am
believe if there was any role played in that conspiracy it was incredibly minor. and if gabe has any knowledge i don't think it will be substantive. >> he denies all of that. what is so interesting about all of this is this house as we have covered it, continue to >> what's called the east coast narrative. this was all anthony provenzano. capitol of the crime family you see that in the movies we saw that in the irishman. why has that stayed in the public's mind for so long for so many decades? and what can be done about it? >> there is nothing that can be done about it. there is east coast bias when you're writing but in the level of crime in america.
11:47 am
the general consensus among reporters as well as probably regular civilians if it is happening in the mob it's happening in new york. city like detroit is treated like it's a city in montana not michigan. [laughter] eric: what does that mean? >> it means it's easy for people like yourself and your network and other reporters and media outlets in new york to dismiss our marginalized detroit. when in fact when it comes to the mafia when it comes to jimmy hoffa there is nobody bigger more influential more powerful and more adept at pulling off gate than the detroit mafia. they were the cadillac of organized crime families in the ivy league. >> a new art sense how did this play out? how did the whole thing break down in terms of detroit?
11:48 am
x half it was kidnapped from the restaurant parking lot on the afternoon of july 30, 1975. probably to 245 and 3:00 p.m. i believe is driven a car that was occupied by billy jack who is a cop on the detroit mob. from tony was a soldier at that time. i believe they drove him to a house that was connected to members of organized crime is probably a two, three, four minute drive from the red fox restaurant when they were supposed to meet. i believe shortly thereafter murdered either before he got to the house or once he came into the house. his body was then disposed of the cyclic central sanitation which was a mobbed up sanitation company about a 25 minute drive. i would say by 4:00 p.m. that afternoon there is no more jimmy hoffa like literally no more
11:49 am
body. we have been running around for 48 years looking for something that does not exist. and mythology feeds on itself. eric: do you think someone will finally talk? you mentioned billy jack and vito jack malone it was a member of the detroit crime family. >> yes do i think, he's been dead for 11 years. his brother tony jack in my opinion the tip of the spirit when it came to this conspiracy quarterback all the details the site back in 2001. jackie, if yes the fbi right now jackie is the boss of what is left of the detroit organized crime group. he was 25 years old when this happened. i don't believe he had any involvement. so you can ask him, he did he said he didn't know anything just like gabe i tend to believe
11:50 am
him. so far you believe basically jackie does not know anything. >> he might have some quality secondhand information but in terms of first-hand info, information that is not you note given to him that he saw firsthand i do not believe he has any valuable information for the investigation. if arms are go-ahead regrets i think everything he had to be circumstantial. there were not many firsthand information. eric: do you think someone will say something to finally put the end to this to provide solace for the hoffa family and for the country? >> i hope the fbi comes out at some point in the next couple of years may be of the 50 year anniversary mark and closes it down and say this is what we believe happened were 99.9% sure this is how it happened. i know they have a blueprint of
11:51 am
what cap and they are 99% sure that's exactly what happened. come out with it publicly. name billy jack and tony as the guys who killed him and let it go. as a jackie said to you guys, you have honestly hit a dead end pretty echoes the sentiments of a lot of members of organized crime there scrutinized over this as well as the public. and frankly as well as reporters like myself. do not know what more we can get out of this. you cannot get blood out of a stone. seaport let's hope the fbi does at the 50th anniversary is july 30, 3025. but the gangster report in the original gangster podcast. good to see. scott is in our special by that of course thank you scott as always. for more on the gym a half a case there is our new show episode number six riddle, the search for james are prophets called the last living suspect about gabe and so much more
