our fox contributor joins us. good to see you. look. it has just started. what do you expect on tuesday when the president shows up in federal court and when we see these images, how do you think the case unfolds and more relations are made public? will this affect the presidential race? >> well, we do know that he has already been indicted by a local district in manhattan and we do know that republican support for him seems to grow after that. in two ways. some people on the fence about him decided to support him and those that already supported him supported him even more strongly. we have actually seen that happen after an indictment. my guess is, tuesday will be a repeat of him in courtrooms in new york, but it will likely be a repeat of the scene. the question you are asking, is this one more serious? will this have a negative effect
9:09 am
on him? i do not know. i was in iowa last week, a big republican event out there, and republicans almost universally believe that donald trump was unfairly targeted during his years in the white house. any time some new event happens negative before him they fit it into that context. there are things that he is being unfairly targeted. >> the fact that the judicial system in this case matter? the allegations brought by the justice department. independent prosecutors. the federal judge who was very esteemed and oversees the entire process and the grand jury indictment is a group of citizens to vote for this and joe biden cannot sit in the oval office and sit and push a button and throw someone in jail. >> this is not the president personally doing this.
9:10 am
i think it is reasonable to refer to the biden justice department just as many refer to the trump justice department. well a federal indictment as opposed to a biden justice department be different from a local indictment in new york by an elected democrat prosecutor? you would think that it would, actually. this indictment, actually existing crimes. they did not have to make up crimes as a sort of did in manhattan. also, they have significant evidence. there are real issues in trump's defense. that is the kind of think that gets played out in a trial. my guess is, and we are just guessing right now, the people that support trump will still support him the more they learn about this indictment. >> certainly hearing more from the former president on tuesday when he is out court or leave court, one would assume.
9:11 am
meanwhile, let's take a look at the pole. the race shows him very far ahead. put this up on the screen, if you can. ahead of ron desantis, but just take a look. former vice president at 5%, former u.s. ambassador to the united nations nikki haley for present and look at two is right next to her, 1% below mike pence. obviously, he is catching on or at least he is resonating somewhat no political experience, comes out of nowhere, what is the deal with him and why do you think he is doing so well even though he is just up 4%. look at where he has that. >> he is doing well because he is an interesting guy. back in iowa last week, i spoke with a lot of republicans and a lot of them volunteered that the candidate that they found most interesting, maybe not the one they will openly support, but
9:12 am
they were really interested in what he had to say. he is really doing this at a very retail level. he does not hold rallies for 10,000 people. he goes to people's houses. he goes to small events. he is actually getting some word-of-mouth support here. i do think in a lot of races that there is a little room for an interesting candidate. john yang or andrew yang was that candidate in the 2020 democratic race. newt gingrich kinda played that role in an early republican race. so there is a role for a candidate that is not so bound by talking points as so many of the other ones are. and voters get that. >> speaking of interesting candidates, robert f kennedy junior, he has been going up in the polls in the primary race.
9:13 am
let's take a listen to him. he was talking about this race the other day. >> we are supposed to be the party of the american middle class. right now, most of the american middle class feels that they are being ignored. you know, i am trying to speak to them and represent those interests. >> what do you think of his candidacy and giving joe biden potentially run for his money? >> i think that you have to start looking at this in the context of the many poles we have seen. a majority of americans, democrats, someone else other than joe biden being their nominee. they really do not have a name, but somebody else other than joe biden. here you have robert f kennedy junior, obviously his name is legendary in american politics, not that many people know about him, specifically, but i think
9:14 am
what people are doing what the robert kennedy candidacy is they are using that as a vehicle to say, i really do not want joe biden. if you look at a recent fox news poll, 60% of democrats said they supported rfk junior. 80% said they supported marianne williamson. i do not believe that 8% of democrats believe that marianne williamson should be president of the united states. i think this is a way to say they are unhappy with being spoonfed a joe biden presidency and they wish they had a different choice. >> look on your screen. the dnc has no primary debate scheduled. they should have a primary debate if this is an open free country. >> you know, i think that that is very hard to argue. joe biden is the incumbent president. it is not done in the past where you had debates between a
