warm air across the southern plains is a big story, especially texas, temperatures over 100 and with heat index, it will feel warmer than that. they can occur now from the panhandle of texas through central oklahoma through the next couple hours and severe storm threat will ramp up from the rockies and up to the northeast this afternoon. area of low pressure is going to bring much needed moisture for the great lakes and north east over the next couple days. we had wildfire smoke last week. that will get the paric italates out of the air. there is rain for the northeast, especially interior sections of where it has been dry. look at the canadian fires, rain is falling on them, it will not stop things, but could give firefighters a leg up on what is happening there.
