dominia and sister junety. not a lot of unity coming out of this for anybody. will: ask what's the payoff for the dodgers? in the 6:00 hour, we talked about the fact that truthfully, as impactful as it is to boycott bud light or target, this type of attitude in corporate america is everywhere. it is in almost every fortune 500 corporations. the real question is why. if we can get to the why, then we can see the impact of a boycott maybe. to me there's a couple thins. not that the corporations are chalked full of true believers. there are true believers in corporations and not that every ceo believes in honoring the sisters of perpetual indull yens and it's esg -- indulgence and wall street effective arm of the policy and you want your stock to go up and big institution investors for your stock and that's esg criteria and every

corporation runs by lawsuits and terrified of being drug into a courtroom. starbucks lost a $25 million lawsuit for firing someone because they're white. it can go both ways but, pete, it's the speaky wheel effect. will: ratted cal minorities have the -- radical minorities have the ability to bend people through their fear and fear is the most powerful human motivation. rachel: i think it was remarkable that as many protesters showed up, that was really an important symbol. these are largely hispanic by the way protesters and so deeply offensive to them. i think it's important that we understand what they're protesting. this is a group who does re-enactments.

and she was in the arm. rachel: she had a knife. is that common on the sub-- your client had a knife as well. your client had a knife and he use it had. ed it.is it common in new york? >> seems like it might be based on what people were expressing over the next two years asking can i carry a small knife on the subway and pepper spray and give them a gray area answer as a attorney saying part of that is illegal and can i use it? what do i do? can i use it against someone that's assaulting me? you can from a safety standpoint but you're going to get arrested and they say why? i say that's what we're dealing with right now. pete: you're make -- will: you're making the case of affirmative defense and the standard of reasonableness. is there reasonable expectation of fear? i'm sure you've talked or will be talking to other people on the train and have video of

evidence and what is it that you have that you can share with support for your client's estimation and had a reasonable fear on the train that day? >> again, there's a few factors and can't jump the gun and jump out and use force when force is not being used against you but they waited. everyone on the subway. not my client trying to be a hero in the moment he saw someone acting up and ran over and assaulted him. this was numerous subway stops and my client at the other end of the car and this individual had his shirt off and harassing people like i said, assaulting people and assaulting my client. what is he supposed to do? pete: when he did act, he pulled the knife out and how did that interaction go? >> uncovering those facts quickly and one thing i can tell you is it was one wound that happened to hit an artery and comes down to self-defense especially in court and seeing numerous stab wounds or gunshots and the argument drops down a little bit and seeing one

defensive action by my client, that's exactly what it was. then the individual staid standing and kept -- stayed standing and tried to get toward my client and obviously was bleeding out. will: is it on video, the incident? >> there's video and might be numerous videos. rachel: this is witnessed from the incident here. >> worried about the injustice of the circumstance like the only thing i can really think about is this jordan kid from my experience and from what i've heard from the other witnesses from our experiences like maybe it wasn't necessary that a man was stabbed. of course you're not supposed to have a knife in the city, but given the circumstances like who with blame him for acting according to his safety and was with his girlfriend, he felt protective and that he had a need to protect.

he didn't intend to kill the guy but intended to protect himself and so i'm really hoping that the court system takes all this into consideration and acts justly. rachel: yeah, he was trying to protect his girlfriend as he should. by the way, the da's charging him, they don't ride the subway probably. they don't have to deal with this. >> we live in a backwards situation and people like jordan williams are bearing the burden for the up tick in crime, the issues with housing, mental health, we all live in new york city and pay millions in taxes. where is it going and why does jordan williams have the be the one that defends himself and don't want to have this situation begin with and it does and my client is arrested. it's a bit backwards right now and being charged and we're going to get the case dismissed and even in this situation, i would hope that gets fixed at some point. pete: seeing on the bottom of
