the juneteenth celebration turn deadly overnight shooting breaking out in a shopping lots in willowbrook, illinois 20 miles west of chicago. one person was killed. twenty others were wounded. police as of this hour have yet to announce any arrests and that shooting or even a motive for that reit. arthel: senior correspondent claudia's life. what more can you tell us? what's arthel what an event. bless crime scene tape mercury were the shooting happened around 12:30 a.m. this morning in the parking lot of a strip mall in willowbrook. you count about 9000 people roughly 23 miles south of chicago. what witness said she and her friends were just about to leave the juneteenth celebration when they heard the sound of shots being fired and everyone ducked for cover. a terrifying ordeal for the hundreds of people who were there for a chair's deputies area also heard the gunshots and

raced to that strip mall with a mass shooting triggered a huge emergency response. thirty spoke to reporters this morning and shared what they knew about the victims. >> eliminate witness and victim reports indicate that at least 20 individual shots. at this time when the victim is deceased. >> is unclear if that person died at the scene or later at the hospital but at least 10 people were transported to local emergency rooms. at last report five are still in the hospital two people listed in critical condition. several other victims we understand were able to drive themselves or medical attention. it's unclear what led up to the violence or how many shooters police are not looking. investigators have not released any details as to what they are learning from witnesses or what evidence they found. nor have police disclose the age or gender of any of the victims. we do know they have set up a command center tent outside a liquor store and a waffle house there at this parking lot.

which is now the focus of a massive investigation. police say there also asking for tips and help for the public were there looking for any cell phone video people might have as the search continues for the person or people responsible. looks claudia, thank you. >> as you mentioned 17-year-old is dead like other teenagers after a party went wrong overnight shooting went in downtown st. louis. police they have recovered ar cell rifle and handgun at the scene they have a 17-year-old in custody in the shooting spree. they say it is not clear what led to that deadly shooting. arthel: there are few details about a shooting near a washington state music festival called beyond wonderland festival. this happened last night leaving at least two people dead and three injured including the suspected gunman. >> law enforcement moved into the area to try to track them

down. the shooter continued to shoot randomly. and the suspect was eventually taken into custody. arthel: no word yet on a motive for the shooting of the weapon used for the festival cancel today's final date. eric: yet more gun violence this weekend has left the pennsylvania state trooper dead and another trooper seriously wounded. both were caught in separate gunfights with the same suspect say police. that suspect was killed. charles watson live with more details on this shooting spree, charles. >> hey good afternoon eric. we are learning this was a whole lot more complicated and chaotic than we originally knew. we are learning how this all played out the gun exchange she gets pennsylvania state police and army got suspect played out across three different scenes in pennsylvania in the central portion of the state.

the latest update pennsylvania state police say the arm suspect now identify this 38-year-old brandon stein drove into a parking lot of a state police barracks in pennsylvania were authority said the suspect began firing at marked patrol cars with a long rifle saturday morning. that caught the attention obviously of troopers who then began to pursue the suspect. from there pennsylvania state police tell us the arm suspect engaged the state police lieutenant around 12:45 p.m. saturday afternoon were during that encounter investigators at the armband shot the trooper who was later rushed to a hospital to be treated for lectern injuries. pennsylvania police said they fled the scene and for hours played a game of cat and mouse with negotiators who are in communication with the suspect as they tried to track them down. oxo were attempts to try to negotiate with them. there were phone calls for him providing a location and then he

would not be there. he seemed to be setting our people up for potential ambush. >> importantly police say as they were trying to track stein down he ambush 29-year-old trooper jock and fatally shot him to the windshield of his patrol car. that led to an exchange of gunfire between troopers and stein in the parking lot of a restaurant. investigators say stein was shot and killed. a viewer who was apparently nearby during the deadly exchange between troopers and the suspects shut us this video short time ago you can hear what happened what appears to be multiple rounds being fired. take a listen.
