allow a men to compete and capture the championships and medals and potentially even college scripts and take those away from women. >> yeah, this issue is also affecting younger grade levels as well. just last week, the new york state department of education recommended that teachers not tell parents if their children are transgender. they even said that if there's a student who is a little boy and wants to go by a girl's name, call him that girl's name in class but when you talk to their parents, refer to him as little boy as not to tip them off. can you imagine how infuriating that must be for parents who find out teacher hads this information and were actively hiding it from them? >> yeah, absolutely undermines the rite of parents. these are loving, caring parents that want what's best for their child and want to be involved. if a child bumps their knee on the playground and school wants to give them an aspirin and you

jot passengers on board the missing titanic submersible now have about 90 minutes of oxygen as the search intensifies and crews try to find any conclusive signs of life. >> ashley stromeyer has the very latest on the search. ashley. >> hey, guys, good morning. the coast guard is absolutely scrambling to find the five passengers on board expected to run out of oxygen at 7:08 a.m. eastern time this morning, not long from now. there's only inconclusive signs the passengers are still alive at 12,500 feet underwater or over 2.5 miles. here's what we know of the time line so far of the titanic submersible events. on sunday, the sub heads out at 8:00 a.m. with a 96 hour oxygen supply but then several hours later at 5:40 p.m., the coast

guard got a report of overdue submersible. monday and tuesday search efforts continued as multiple aircrafts flew over the atlantic ocean and wednesday is when searchers confirmed hear hag they call under water noises near where the titan went missing. only with 24 hours of oxygen left. now, unfortunately those searches were inconclusive, listen. >> with respect to the noises specifically, we don't know what they are. to be frank with you. i can tell you it's inconclusive. but again, the important piece is we're searching in the area where the news was detected. >> now we're learning there's been several technical issues in the past with the sub. the former director of marine operations for the titan was apparently fired for wanting more rigorous safety checks. one former oceangate passenger compared the voyage to a suicide mission saying he was lucky to have survived it. he said imagine a metal tube, a

few meters long with a sheet of metal for a floor. you can't stand, you can't kneel, everyone is sitting close to or on top of each other. you can't be claustrophobic. it was a c kamikaze operation. another one said when he was on the sub they lost contact for two hours and one of the batteries drained forcing the trip to end early. and wendy rush the wife of missing pilot of stockton rush has ties to the titanic. according to the nu times, she's the great, great granddaughter of two first class passengers that died on the titanic back in 1912. right now the coast guard is foe cushion on locating the sub before it deploys anything that far undersea and if they do inspire hope up rescuing the five passengers on board, it would be the deepest water rescue in history. back to you guys. >> ashley, thank you a. lot of details now coming out about the back story of this craft. let's bring in dr. justin

durenzo. a former navy psychologist and we have you here for your knowledge of the mind. what does the mind do when faced with a stark reality that the end could being near. you're about to run out of oxygen, you're beyond freezing cold, you're in total darkness. you're hungry. what does the mind do under these circumstances? >> sure, at this point, i mean, it's certainly a dire situation and it's been several days so a lot of panic is probably passed by now and if they're still surviving typically in a trunk and bonded and. co-ing together. it's very quiet and they know they're running out of time. but they're really building those deep relationships through trauma bonding and the histories of these people, they're all 10x type people used to high stake situations, and they're used to hanging in there and having

many, many close calls. i believe if they're still surviving, they're still thinking that there's still hope and they're waiting for somebody to psychological and rescue them. >> do you think they're still alive? >> well, it's hard to say. i understand the depth of where this vehicle is and the darkness and it's likely very cold. so it's really hard to say. certainly we need to not give up hope. >> yeah. >> at the risk of speculating, what conversations do you think are happening on this vessel, specifically coming from the captain because the captain ultimately is in charge of the vessel and has to guide the ship. >> yeah, well, i think at this point, they're probably talking about their families and what they're going to do once they escape. you know, these are high stakes people that are used to taking really high stake risks so they know how to survive.

certainly they're not navy trained submariners, but they probably share a lot of different personality traits like being willing to push the envelope and do very dangerous things. >> yeah, psychological conditions are one thing. the physical conditions are another. there was an expert on fox news yesterday. take a listen to what he had to say. jaire system of articulation>> e conserving power and it gets darker and darker it gets colder and colder and one of the concerns for the guys in there now and they'd have tremendous life support on board the vessel but when you're in 32 degree temperature, hypothermia, all kinds of other potential problems. i just hope to god they're okay down there. >> is your take away on that comment and again, what these people might be going through at this very moment?

>> yeah, again, i'm certain they're very squared but often people in these situations h they do end up surviving and are rescued, they will express that they knew they were going to be found. so most people never give up hope and again, it's important that they are focusing on their families and their loved ones, and it's good to know too that they're all together and know they're probably very bonded and being very supportive of each other. even though it's very -- a terrible situation. >> yeah, it certainly is. >> captain of the coast guard said this is a very different cult time for the family and the coast guard is in touch with them. there's still time and we can only hope and pray at this point. dr. justin d'arienzo, thank you for joining us.
