11:00 pm
robert lighthizer, a superstar in the trump administration. michael goodwin from the "new york post." i have just gotten word that lawrence jones is in position. "cross country" is next. lawrence: the world watches a tense situation unfold in russia. the march towards moscow has been ended. they eased control of military facilities at the border with ukraine vowing to out of russia's leadership. but a deal was brokered by
11:01 pm
belarus. tonight uncertainty remains for the people of russia. ukraine and across the globe. alex hogan janes us from london. >> a dr. plattic day cooling off after a deal was brokered. yevgeny prigozhin calling off his troops just as they were to arrive outside moscow. this is prigozhin leaving rostov-on-don. he vowed not to surrender. russian president vladimir putin vowed harsh punishment. it was the bell rushian president will y wil -- the bele

situation. earlier today russia's towns were packed at train stations in rostov-on-don where people were trying to flee as quickly as possible. in moscow roads were blocked as residents were told to stay inside. the governor of the region surrounding moscow has band all public gatherings for the next week. some neighboring countries to russia beefed up their own security today. leaders of france, germany within poland and others said they are closely following the situation. there is a lot of uncertainty what this means as far as prigozhin going to belarus and
11:03 pm
the long-lasting impact this will have on russian president putin. the morale has been me remarkably low. it has been 16 months since the invasion began. >> i can just imagine they are not feeling too good. i am joined by dr. rebecca grant, national security analyst, former state department official and senior advisor to trump and the busch 43 administration. and christian whic whiton. how do we get to this point? i know there have been some disagreements with this militia on the way they were doing the military strategy temperature did it just finally boil over?
11:04 pm
>> it did. it boiled over. prigozhin has been screaming for a month that sergei shoigu and putin are running the war the wrong way, look at all those russian deaths. he wants things done differently. he's a loose cannon. in doing so, putin is much weaker. lawrence: there has been a lot of talk with, you have people talking on social media speculating. can you speak to what is in this deal? >> sure, lawrence. great to be with you. thank you. what the deal looks like is there is probably some kind of financial commitment for prigozhin. the key is that he is allowed to
11:05 pm
have sanctuary in belarus. he won't be shot between the eyes which everybody was predicting. his soldiers who joined the rebellion will also be pardoned. his soldiers who were fighting and stayed in ukraine and chose not to participate will be given army contracts. lukashenko in belarus and putin in russia were feeling the heat that they would have a mini moment like we had in 1989 and the berlin wall, because there was momentum and foment within the streets. and the people supporting this rebellion were wanting to go after putin in moscow and then belarus, lukashenko. so lukashenko and you continue
11:06 pm
stemmed the tide and struck a deal which they can get back to business as they want to do in ukraine. lawrence: kristin, prigozhin was lethal. he was worse than putin. when you see the bodies stacked up in ukraine. the heads on stakes. if he had his way he would have attacked kyiv as well. what does you continue do next now that he doesn't have that mercenary that almost wanted to inflict more pain than he did. >> two things. first i think with prigozhin it's a reminder to be careful what you wish for. in russia, there are actually people who are potentially worse than vladimir putin. the people who would challenge him from power. some of them are nationalists he
11:07 pm
has in prison. but he's weakened politically so people will be looking around for other opponents. the wagner group was effective in repelling ukraine. they are in the midst of a counter attack that's happening in summer it's not going well. they haven't made much progress. i'm sure they will be producing to see whatever area of the front is vacated by the wagner forces, about this deal does get executed the way it's been announced. the information we have is coming from moscow so take it with a grain of salt. lawrence: doctor, i want to ask you something. i know you can't get into the mind of putin. some speculated that this could have been part of putin's master plan. do you buy any of it? >> it could be.
11:08 pm
and we know one thing. we know nato accident set this up. but -- we know nato didn't set this up. but i don't think putin wanted that to happen. but this looks real bad from china's perspective to see a rogue army heading towards the capital. this did not raise putin's standing with xi in china. i don't think it was putin's plan to unfold this way. lawrence: tips we work with freedom fighters who happen to be our enemies as well. can you explain why the united states government would not wok with these mercenaries? >> the wagner group is brutal. they have an atrocious record in syria and africa * and ukraine. this is an army.
11:09 pm
this was the threat that lukashenko and putin saw. they are led by a very bad guy and very bad people. they have self special forces, commanders who joined their team, and their absolutely ruthless but effective if what you want is three yards and a cloud of dust in trench warfare in ukraine. they are bad people and we would want nothing to do with them. and we had minor skirmishes with them in the middle east. the real question is, ukraine, did they exploit this operational advantage on the ground? now the corrosion is not there anymore, and the troops are thinned out, and they are on their spring offensive. is there an opportunity for ukraine to pursue and break out? lawrence: i guess we'll have to
11:10 pm
see. thank you for joining me for this breaking news. i want to bring in lucas tomlinson from the white house. what is the reaction from the president. >> president biden was here at the white house working the phones calling nato allies in germany, france and great britain. he goes to a major nato summit in lithuania on russia's border. also just to show you how serious things were here in washington, the president's top military advisor general mark milley canceled a trip to the middle east. jake sullivan canceled a trip to denmark. then president biden left for camp david with his son hunter. that's where he spent most of the day. a lot of the nato allies concerned about russia's nuclear
11:11 pm
stockpile. these aren't just missiles being fired from submarines. they used to come in all shapes and sizes. here was the former cia station chief with the news. >> you have got rush's hold on nuclear weapons. if someone were to gain access to the nuclear weapons, there is a lot at stake. whenever there is instability in russia, the world risks paying a price for it. >> there are reports that vladimir putin fled moscow when the army was bearing down on moscow. last year in ukraine president zelenskyy stayed when a russian convoy was heading towards kyiv. >> he probably left moscow which
11:12 pm
is an interesting contrast between president putin and president zelenskyy. when the russians got to the outskirts of kyiv. zelenskyy stayed. zelenskyy stayed. and putin apparently left. reporter: president biden and his administration keeping a low profile today most likely because they don't want president putin to make the accusation that the white house was behind this which may be coming. lawrence: what was the move like at the white house? are they quietly celebrating this or are they too worried about putin's reaction to this. reporter: there is no question officials at the white house and the pentagon and langley are likely relieved right now. whether this was a coup or a mutiny.
11:13 pm
certainly thatth was little bloodshed, there are some reports of some casualties. but you saw this mercenary group. you see them walking around rostov-on-don. that's a city of a million people. but they didn't take fire. you had photos of some of these mercenaries going in and ordering coffee and waiting in line even though they had rifles. people coming over and talking. certainly some relief on the part of the administration. there is no question. lawrence: joining me back on set is brian kilmeade. the big question is what does this mean for america and why should americans care about what's happening right now? brian: we have been at this 15 months. this is the biggest disaster for russia. our biggest nemesis wants to up end us.
11:14 pm
they looked at this invasion and said it's going to be knocked off in two weeks. now we are 15 months in and russia is being pushed back, not at the rate we want. they lost 44 square miles. they have gotten back 8 to 10 more cities. if you have low morale already and you are fighting against ukraine, our ally. now all of a sudden you say there is a coups, and the wagner group is no longer existing? they won't want to be part of the russian army. get them the f-16s they need. let them be successful. don't go halfway. let them finish the job. this is a dream scenario. for very little investment. we watched an invading neighbor who is on a win streak. they go to georgia and hold up to two provinces for the win.
11:15 pm
they take crimea in three days, a win. he says i will take the whole country, who is going to stop me. ukraine is fighting for their lives. the west is united against him. his economy is flat on his back and all he can do is grab an american here and there and hope for a hostage exchange. ukraine has to take advantage of the next two weeks, the chaos in moscow and put them on their back foot and start pushing them back toward crimea. there is an opportunity to take out key supply bridges that lead russia into ukraine. they are going to look a blow those bridges and take kree ma back. there is something nobody predicted 15 months ago. >> there is fatigue amongst
11:16 pm
american public, especially when you have americans back at home. make the case to the american public why they should care about this and why we should continue funding ukraine. brian: i appreciate that. even if this building people don't know why. because they don't talk about it. his secretary of state doesn't explain it. you know who does a great job? general jack keane and lindsey graham. let me help you understand that what you think of it as imperfect as it is, ukraine was a country that was fry and wanted nothing to do with the east, was thinking west, poland the same thing, all the baltic states, sail thing. they want no part of that russian sphere. we let ukraine go. down go the baltics infiltrating
11:17 pm
into their elections. next thing you know, they reconstitute all of eastern europe. china has a muscled up enemy. that would be the scenario, nobody in the next generation would forgive us if we allowed ukraine to be taken over. all they want is the weapons to be successful, they know how to fight. lawrence: brian kilmeade making the case. more to come on this developing story out of russia. don't

11:21 pm
lawrence: as internal turmoil in russia sends waves across the globe, i'm joined by matt walsh, former green beret commander. you operated all across the world. can you explain to our audience the chances of ukraine winning this war? >> well, look, i think in terms of u.s. interests:putin is very clear that he wants to reconstitute the old soviet
11:22 pm
union. that would mean he would go into countries that are part of the thank you to alliance, that the u.s. troops would then be drug into to help defend. if he slices through ukraine and is able to hit poland or countries like lithuania, estonia and latvia, the u.s. will be brought unto it. if they are just asking for the beans and the bullets to do so, that's in our interest to keep us out of the war. the europeans, particularly germany and france have got to step up. i introduced a bill that says you know what, for he dollar the u.s. gives the europeans have to match that, otherwise wele pull our assistance back. but in terms of the ukrainians winning, i'm interested to see if they can take advantage of
11:23 pm
and be nimble and agile enough to hit the rugs lines where wagner used to be and where they pulled those thousands of troops off and where they hit the russian troops that had to be peeled off the front line to deal with wagner. lawrence: it leads me to my next question, is prigozhin really done? is he out of play now? could this potentially be a setup? >> look, anything with putin could be a setup. making his minister of defense shoigu and gerasimov the fall guy for all of russia's failings, with rig -- with prigs
11:24 pm
the bad guy messenger could have been a set up by putin. he needs the capability wagner represents. these were mercenaries. whether they were in africa or syria, putin could say they weren't really truly russian. and countries like germany or laces hike libya that wanted to turn a blind eye and not deal with it, that gave:you continue plausible deniability. he needs that capability wagner represents so i don't think they are done at all. lawrence: they go way back. i know you have been on the ground. you know exactly what's at play here. thanks for bringing your insight on the program tonight.

lawrence: fox hughes alert. president biden must choose america's next move wisely. after his most recent foreign policy blunders, can he be trusted on the world stage.
11:29 pm
presidential candidate larry elder joins me on set. what should be the president's next move with all of those revelations going on between russia and ukraine. >> we wouldn't be having these conversations if the president hadn't pulled out the way he did in afghanistan. may i say, though, the reason i'm here is i'm running for president, the reason i'm running for president is because i thought donald trump did an amazing job. if i thought a sufficient number of swing voters in swing states would vote for him, i wouldn't be here. it presents a problem and that problem is called electability. i ask people the following questions. have you lost friends because of donald trump.
11:30 pm
i know i have. are you walking on egg shells at work because of donald trump. do you have strained relations with family and friends because of donald trump? the people need to recognize they need to rally behind a candidate whose name isn't donald trump. lawrence: you talk about electability and part of that is winning the republican primary. you are less than 1%. >> i'm over 1%. how do you get republican voters to vote for you so you can take on joe biden. >> i ran for governor in california, i got 3.5 million votes. california has 58 counties. i carried 57. the only one i lost was
11:31 pm
san francisco by 149 votes. i have got to get 40,000 individual donations. go to my website, elderforpresident.com. the lie that america is systemically racist, the need for school choice. there are 13 public high schools located in the inner city of baltimore where zero percent of the kids can do math at academic level. and fatherlessness. 40% of all-american kids enter into a home without a father. you are 20 times pore likely to end up in jail. we incentivized women to marry
11:32 pm
the government and incentivized men to ignore their financial responsibility. lawrence: what is going to distinguish you between the people leading the field? what is that lightning rod that says go vote for larry elder. right now you are saying the policy positions they all agree with you on. >> no question about it. donald trump did a great job when he ran on borders and inflation and energy independence. the issue is whether you are come for thible enough to swing voters so we can win. there aren't a lot of policy differences. we know we need to get tough with china and make sure kids get a good education. we know regulations are too much. we have the same idea. we are all republicans. it's whether or not enough swing

voters can re-late to you so we can win against harris and biden. lawrence: thank you so much for being here. why hunter biden's light sentence is lighting a fire under the lawyer

11:37 pm
lawrence: here is a trio i didn't expect to be compared this week. kodak black, lil wayne and hunter biden. all guilty of firearms charges. the first son agreed to plead guilty top two misdemeanor tax charges in connection with a felony gun possession charge. the agreement sparking outrage because this deal would likely spare hunter prison time even after effort moany from an irs
11:38 pm
whistleblower. why isn't justice applied equally. thanks so much for joining the program. have you ever witnessed a deal like this? >> no. never. not only have i never witnessed a deal like this. i heard from dozens of currents u.s., ausas and past ausas who never heard of a sentence like this on a gun charge. how many in the country have been offered a diversion program on a 922 gun charge. i have never heard of a diversion program on a gun charge. in fact the actual policy of the doj up until yesterday, i don't
11:39 pm
know of any other policy they have. up until yesterday was they do not offer pretrial diversion on gun charges. lawrence: how do they get away with this? there are thousands of other average day americans locked up because of this. if this is the law, then so be it. but it has to be equally applied. >> that's the big thing here. i'm not standing up saying what kodak black got was so outrageous compared to his past crimes or compared to his record. i am saying the disparity is so obnoxious that somebody would get a diversion on a gun charge. you either don't file the charge or you give them what they deserve which is about 24 months.
11:40 pm
instead of scoring that 24 months, he's offered a diversion program. none of my clients, whether they are famous or not fame use. i have never gotten an offer like that on a gun charge. in broward county if you get caught with 20 pain pills, you get charged with trafficking. this an obnoxious thing that should not be taking place. the you have a is so outrageous, he's facing 12 months on the tax charges and diversion on a gun charge where he's facing 24 months. normal people should stand up and say what's going on. fox is probably the on channel covering it. the other channels are completely ignoring it. lawrence: joe is their guy so i get why they are all in for this. what about the a.p. that says
11:41 pm
these cases are totally different, like the ones represented. there is no comparisons there. what would you say. >> it's all smoke and mirrors. they called me for an interview and said the charges are different. wayne's charge is different but kodak's and biden's charges are virtually the same thing. one person biden said he's not a drug addict and he's smoking crack and carrying a gun, and kodak said he didn't have an open case when he had an open case. kodak has a different criminal history. but the disparity is so huge, that's the main thing. you this individual who scores 24 months gets a free pass. that's what's annoying.
11:42 pm
>> it's so true. they have a different criminal history because he was protected by the secret service. no one was willing to charge hunter biden. but he has been doing illegal stuff for a very long time. thank you for joining the program. up next a cross country update on aaron rodgers. on a

lawrence: an update on a story we brought last week. the davis school district in utah is bringing the bible back to library shelves it was determined it wasn't age appropriate for younger students. they took advantage of a law to keep explicit content out of schools. a win for parents. now let's head to denver, colorado where a massive crowd gathered at a psychedelic
11:47 pm
conference. scientists, medical professionals, even the state's governor. nfl star aaron rodgers also spoke at the conference about his own experience. the attendees discuss potential medical benefits of these drugs. but they didn't shy away from some of the crazier aspects as well. >> if i was the president there would be a national dose day. ebb would have to take a dose of lsd at the same time, including babies. >> psychedelic sweat lodges take you to the same place. >> when a demon shows up you
11:48 pm
have to ask it what it's there for. >> i have never been more in tune with the people around me or the universe. psychedelics are pointing at the moon. they are not the moon and we want the moon. >> it's been part of eurasian culture for as long as we know, tens of thousands of years. and we co-evolved with mushrooms. >> while psych dell is have long been viewed as a recreational drug, there has been an examination of potential medical benefits. to they have been used to treat depression and ptsd. >> up a mental health therapist and had my first psychedelic experience last year.
11:49 pm
it's been part of my own personal growth. and i think there is so much potential for people like my client to tap into that feeling as well. >> it helps renegotiate and look at patterns, traumas and life experiences. and it will help you reprocess in a safe way. >> what veterans can experience from this is feeling like they can live again instead of just being drowned out. psychedelics have a way of helping you see light and want to go have light up stead of just existing. it's a way to save yourself. >> they transformed my life for the better. i went through some personal trauma and it has been the same to heal me from the trauma in a more holistic and wholesome way. >> the corporate world i worked in, i was going to be laid off.
11:50 pm
instead of sitting in a world of depression or anxiety, the psychedelic helped me to live in now and open up these neuropathways so i can do just about anything i want. lawrence: future hall of fair and impartial and super bowl mvp aaron rodgers talked about the results. >> i have been fortunate enough to sit in ceremony with teammates. it's radically life changing and it's wild to be in a locker room and look over and know that -- i'm local with you. it changes the dynamic for sure. in this process there has been hundreds of nfl guys who reached out, texts or whatever young kids do these days, dms. but it's been fun to connect
11:51 pm
with these guys who have done medicine work or is fascinated by it and want to learn more about it. i'm thank you for those opportunities because it changes the dynamics when you are in a huddle with somebody, you are on a team with somebody, and man i have been there with you, that's my brother. it changes the whole dynamics and everything. lawrence: i'm joined by two other prominent attendees. and governor of texas, rick:perry. i didn't expect you to be here. you are from texas. my home state. the bible belt. so make the case for us, governor. why should people be open to this? >> if you had told me my name
11:52 pm
and psych dell is would be in the say sentence i would say you crazy. 17 years ago we started down a path dealing with post true mat i distress. it was lawrence latrel's experience who led me and my wife down rob it trails. we heard about people going down to mexico to be treated and the results were stunningly positive. so i started studying. i started spending time with these individuals who have been down there, and i have become a complete and total convert. i will never be for recreational use of these drugs. but used in a scientific way. we passed in texas trials for post traumatic stress. and i'm excited to put my name
11:53 pm
behind it. i know it works. here is the bottom line, lawrence. if my reputation is worth more than their lives, then i got my priorities mixed up. that's what this is about. i believe in it, i have seen it, i think the state of texas is supporting it now. i hope a lot of citizens will take the time to learn about it and support it because their lives are worth. they put their lives on the line for us and we need to be finding he way to treat them. lawrence: the operators who serve our country have a special place in my heart and we have to do what it takes to get them the help they need. you are an athlete. aaron rodgers is an athlete. the league won't let you even smoke weed. how are you able to do this?
11:54 pm
>> so thank you for having me on, and thank you for everything that you do. i partook in a air moby after i -- ceremony after i saw an image of a brain under mri. i partook of this in 2015 after i retired and was experiencing mild dementia symptoms. with the number one cause of death being suicide after traumatic brain injury. it was something i used to save my life. it brought my brain back on line before i left for the retreat. i also tested my blood. it improved my relationship with myself and others. the evidence there is through some of the clinical trials,
11:55 pm
through the fda. so this is much different than cannabis because we can point to clinical trials through the most rigorous process there is. this conference was an amazing experience. many of the participants are veterans as well as sexual abuse survivors. they saw a 70% success rate. it's getting to the root cause of the trauma that causes the symptoms. lawrence: i never thought i would see the day that my government would be behind this. i will continue to follow this. thank you for joining the pr
