survey out showed trump 51% of support among the republican primary voters. governor ron desantis form other vice president mike pence in a distant third. >> incredible poll numbers are one of the main reasons the marxist left is weaponizing the criminal justice system to try and stop us. if i wasn't running or if i was doing badly in the polls, all of this investigation bull [bleep] would stop immediately. and i did nothing wrong. it's under the presidential records act. i did nothing wrong. >> today, governor desantis is expected to talk about one of trump's top issues, immigration. is he in texas, getting a firsthand look at the border. he has even released an ad called no excuses detailing how he would make immigration and border security a top priority. >> southern border. a record 2.7 million migrants cross the border. >> across the border. >> seeing unprecedented.

20% believe we're heading in the wrong direction. this goes back to amy klobuchar saying look at everything the president has done. don't get sidetracked with the hunter biden stuff. obviously something is not getting through. you can say you added all these jobs but a lot of those jobs left because of the pandemic and you could say that you brought the country back but it was already in route to coming back. then can you say brought it out of the pandemic. but operation warp speed brought the vaccine forward. you kind of created more division in this country in my view by mandating it and causing different governors to run for the hills and other ones to comply. that further divided the country which brought us to the midterms and the roe v. wade decision that brings us where we're at today. >> ainsley: you live out on rhode island. it's pretty red out there. steve, you go to florida a lot. it's pretty red down there. i went to south carolina this weekend. every restaurant i went in they would stop us. they love fox news down south, obviously, we are so grateful. i love going home.

every restaurant that we would go to, they would stop us as we are walking through to our table and saying we're so worried about our country. our country is heading in the wrong direction. and when you look at that poll 74% say that. >> steve: what's interesting though. so 20% say we are heading in the right direction. i have no idea who those people are. >> ainsley: live here in new york. >> steve: maybe. the last time there was a number like that was in 1992 and 2008. and in both those times, the party in the white house lost control. so that's good news for the republicans. and while donald trump's lead in the primary polls is increasing according to more than half of republicans they would prefer another person to lead the party even though is he way out in front. half of them want somebody else. >> ainsley: why is he doing so well in the polls? >> steve: it's early. >> brian: even in the individual states as well. as we look who is leading and who is not, you brought this up.

republicans you don't have debate. >> most of the times donald trump has been queried about polls he said i don't trust them ultimately that's his answer now. let's hope he does. you know the number one court case they will be talking about. >> ainsley: the one from new jersey we are about to talk about? >> steve: the one about roe v. wade. in this nbc poll, a red flag for republicans said that 61% of voters disapprove of the supreme court overruling roe v. wade. so that, obviously, because a number of conservative judges appointed by republican presidents were involved in craft flag ruling, that suggest that abortion is going to be a major liability for republicans republicansin. >> brian: unless they get a good message brian. >> ainsley: transitioning, the transgender issue. this next issue that we are about to talk about could end up going to the supreme court. this is happening in new jersey. >> steve: that's right. because it's also about schools. which glenn youngkin in the

commonwealth of virginia. about a year and a half ago, was very effective at it. >> ainsley: the attorney general of new jersey along with the governor are teaming up and suing three different school districts in new jersey because if a child wants to transition or change their gender or be identified as a different gender than they were born with. the parents have to be notified. >> brian: brian that seems totally natural, right? tell the parents your 12-year-old male wants to be a girl. >> ainsley: these leaders do not want that to happen. they want these children to be able to do it at school and parents don't have to find out about it. >> brian: keep the gles in your gym bag? >> ainsley: locker. >> steve: in new jersey all schools shall ensure that students be addressed by their preferred names and pronouns. be allowed to dress in accordance with their gender identity and parental consent is not required for the district to accept the student's asserted general identity. because that's from the state of new jersey, that's why the

attorney general for new jersey matt platkin said this. outing these students against their will poses serious mental health riske, threatens physical harm to students including risking increase suicide. decreases the likelihood students will seek support and shirks the district's obligation to seek a safe and supportive learning environment for all. lgbtq+ students in new jersey and elsewhere have died by suicide after being outed if you say i want to be a girl. it's obvious. it's not outing. >> brian: you are 100 percent right, ainsley. >> brian: got talk to the parents about it got to be on board. >> brian: they don't want you talking to your parents. here's the attorney for the marlboro school board we vehemently disagree with the attorney general's argument that it's somehow discriminatory or improper to notify a parent that their minor child is changing their gender. is our position that keeping parents in the dark about

important issues involving their children is counter intiive well established supreme court cases that some say constitutional trite control and direct the upbringing of their children. governor murphy considering this guy as presidential nominee if biden wasn't there he considers it. this guy is a train wreck. that's how he almost lost new jersey which is as blue as it can be one of the reasons why so many hispanics are leaving the democratic party who support idiocy like this because they're traditional in values and morals and extremely religious. see this, excuse me, white out my name. i'm no longer there. this is the type of thing if you are a democratic operative. you are apoplectic about. >> ainsley: not their responsibility to keep something from the parent. i have open communication in my

thinks we would torture our kids. >> we would never torture our kids. we were trying to get the masks off for two years because he tortures our kids. now that he is losing control of his school boards because we are getting people elected it getting our parents in to meet these kinds of changes. he is going to use the a.g. to make sure that we can't do these things. you know, he has waged war on parents and children for three years. >> got to leave go. some place where there is school choice. public schools want to make ridiculous rules, okay, i'm taking my $7,000 per kid, maybe more in new jersey and take it over to this school. and then people start realizing when you have to lay off teachers and the money and the tax dollars aren't going along to that brick and mortar school down the road instead going to the other place that charter school around the block, then people will realize it's not going to work. >> ainsley: they want to take everything away from us. they want to tell us how to raise our kids. talking about making wood oven pizza ovens now carbon emissions and taking away our straws.
