specific and damning allegation made by the irs whistleblower, that two different biden appointed u.s. attorney when in california and why washington d.c. prevented him from moving forward on charges that investigators thought were warranted. if that investigation is ongoing and if weiss is leaving open the possibility he could request special counsel status to move those charges forward, then i think republicans and congress might have to wait to talk with him because an ongoing criminal investigation might prevent him from speaking with members of congress. but certainly, this story is far from over. molly: went to get your thoughts on the side of hunter biden, hunter biden's attorney has accused the house republicans of attempting to interfere essentially in this biden plea deal of trying to improperly undermine the judicial proceedings of making false allegations via ssl for south irs whistleblowers. your thoughts on the view from

hunter biden's lawyers? >> hunter biden's lawyers have an interest in portraying the issue is settled. they have tried to portray the plea deal as the last word of hunter biden's legal woes and that he has now taken responsibility so to speak for all of his misdeeds. the public should move on. that is not what weiss is said but that is not the justice department has said. that this is the last word and the consequences hunter bided my face. and from the republicans perspective they had never really been interested in the elected tax evasion. something hunter biden pleaded guilty t2 or a watered down charge related to that rate they've never really been interested in the gun form he may have felt that improperly. they have already said their interest has to do with potential illegal foreign lobbying and alleged influence peddling. all the millions of dollars he biden family earn while joe bided was vice president. and what efforts the justice

department took to look into those pretty solid allegations. so there's not been a lot of meddling in the exact case hunter biden has pleaded guilty too. because republicans have never really been interested in that. they've always had bigger fish to fry it so to speak. molly: jon rack with the former director of national intelligence spoke with jason this morning on "sunday morning futures", take a listen. >> we end up with the circumstance where the president's son has ended up with a deal that perhaps nobody else in the history of the department of justice has received when it comes a type of conduct associated with tax crimes and gun crimes. and so these are questions the american people want answers stupid and importuning our department of justice and fbi aren't giving clear answers on that. it is at the house republicans unfortunately to now prosecute the cases that the fbi and the d.o.j. clearly are not. molly: the big question is how effective are the house republicans at b and getting to

these types of questions? >> so far i think they've actually been surprising effective. think about how long we have been talking about hunter biden's alleged misconduct with regard to trading on his family name overseas and rake in millions of dollars. this is been part of the conversation for at least three years now. and even a little bit before the laptop emerged from the 2020 election. just in the past few months, the closest thing to concrete evidence of these allegations we have had whistleblowers come forward. there is been fbi documents the 1023 form from the fbi containing pretty fleshed out allegation of an alleged bribery scheme. so house republicans have been able to uncover more evidence just in the past few months that we have had the entire time this is in part of the public sphere. the problem is, is anyone going to care? at the justice department is not going to do its job and investigate this, all there will really be will be a case in the

inflation is still high. what is the reality of how you see the economy right now? >> depressant biden has been in office for 10 quarters. and ate at those inflation has been bigger than wage increases. americans really earning power is down. in term of a job to recover it is well underway when donald trump left office he was creating jobs at an incredible pace. to the reality is the economy has sputtered, and has not performed. the republicans -- company truck people were in they were gro growing. poor folks were moving up now the reverse is happening. the bottom line is the bottom line. americans are worse off. they know it, that is why his approval rating is below 40%. students before let's get to the polling. the first post about how americans have of the general state of the economy. that is what you just said. overall 76% say the economy is it only fair or poor shape. 24% say the economy is excellent or good.

president was in office, they expanded the money supply by 40%. the economy went down and came back. the economy expanded 6%. so they expanded the money supply five times as much as the economy. i was surprised we had them it's inflation? we are lucky to not have had more. it is a terrible record. the fed has basically been the handmaiden to the investigation by enabling by printing so much money. now, all the pandemic spending is over, right? the budget deficit is gone from 90 billion to 1.5 trillion. that is a huge expansion in demand. it is impossible and a flight full employment economy not to have inflation in that context. bernstein read the same books i did. he's about my age. any book that will get it expanding government spending that amount will not lead to inflation when you are on full employment. bryan: many people believe this
