pete buttigieg. alexandria hoff has the latest. good morning. >> alexandria: good morning. before we entered the busy weekend, there had been 7500 flight cancellations and tens of thousands of flights delayed, that is impacting return flights now and we have seen the numbers jump up. over 340 flights delayed and 75 cancelled at this point and a range of issues led passengers to suffer through the holiday weekend. severe weather took most of the blame, but staffing shortages and tech glitches strained this system which accommodated record number of passengers on friday. >> you could tell there was chaos, they announced several flights had been cancelled. the airport seemed more crowded

than normal. we got another flight assigned and i watched it from florida and it was delayed and cancelled and no flight coming in for us, i was like, it is only a matter of time. >> alexandria: transportation secretary pete buttigieg down played his role in this. people are desperate to get answers and pete buttigieg denied his role in this, despite jet blue and ceo of united pointed to problems in air traffic control infrastructure as a factor. we had a hard few days with severe weather at the beginning of the week, that definitely put enormous pressure on the system. on friday, according to tsa, most every passengers in america and cancellation rates stayed low, below 2%. they shot up at first part of

>> carley: 31 people shot and three killed during a violent holiday weekend in chicago. the youngest victim just five years old. two teen boys were hurt in drive-by shooting. over in baltimore, community is mourning loss of two people shot and killed during a block party. gunfire erupted injuring victims from 18 to 32 years old. the city mayor speaking out against the violence. this act of violence has taken two lives and altered many more. we will find those responsible and we will not stop until we do so. >> carley: no suspects are in

custody, police believe multiple shooters everywhere involved. >> ashley: congresswoman alexandria ocasio-cortez calling for a check after ruling striking down affirmative action and biden's student loan forgiveness plan. >> we have justices saying the supreme court is going themselves much too far. they are expanding their role into acting as congress itself. we really must focus on the danger of this court and the abuse of power. there must be impeachment on the table. the supreme court has not been receiving adequate oversight necessary. >> carley: brewer group ceo jack brewer joins us now. quite a comment, accusing supreme court of overreach and

abuse of power. they are decentralize ing. the supreme court is saying that congress needs to make that decision, in which congresswoman alexandria ocasio-cortez is a member of. >> that is exactly right, what the supreme court is doing is sticking to the constitution, which seems extreme to many because we have seen things move so far to the left. talk about the supreme court ruling on sexuality and marriage and abortion and things in the past when they did not go by the constitution, now they are doing that. they are doing an amazing job and bringing balance back to america when we are seeing craziness around us. it is refreshing to see the supreme court stand for the

document that founded this nation. >> ashley: the 52% approve and 32% disapprove and 16% do not know. going deeper into the poll, jack, 58% of independent voters approved. what does that tell you about the state of our country? >> it tells you people are sick and tired of talking about skin color. i come on the show and i have to be looked at as a black man before you hear the word out of my mouth, that is culture we created. it was sad we needed affirmative action plan for college, when they wouldn't even let people in college years ago. forcing university to look at race and color of our skin, that is why we have the generation

that we have now. everything that happens, it is not about issues, it is about your identity and that is sad. what the supreme court did was to give truly give the decision-making back to the parents and teachers and universities. you can still let kids in, based upon poverty level, give opportunity to those that are least of these, just like the bible tells us to do. the bible doesn't tell us to pick based on race. that matters. let's uplift people out of poverty, instead of teaching the generation to look at race. next step supreme court needs to do is remove race box from our identity. we are only country in the world that forces people to talk about

their skin color. my kids are persian and black and european and mixed with everything, they are confused, they do not have a box that says where their parents are from. this is destroying the nation and i hope presidential candidates address this mess to end racial division. >> carley: speaking of presidential candidates, five gop presidential hopefuls gave speeches at moms for liberty event this weekend. this is an organization that champions school choice and parent rights and education. here is what the candidates had to say. >> they will never forget, don't mess with america's moms. >> don't subcontract leadership to woke corporation, we stand for inner pas and kids. >> our kids need to know to love america, saying the pledge. >>ic maing decisions for your

children that make sense for them. we will shut it down, starting with agencies like the u.s. department of education. >> carley: how important is education in 2024 and what changes would you, somebody that works with children on day-to-day basis, like to see? >> this is the most critical issue we are facing right now. the candidates should be applauded, they are addressing the nation at its core. when you look deeply at the education system, it has to go to public school level. one issue you have when you focus on parents, some kids don't have parents. over 24.5 million fatherless kids temperature is time to look out for kids that do not have parents to stand up for them. those are kids you see, the 28

dismissing whistleblower testimony about u.s. attorney david weiss's role in the hunter biden probe. >> what the whistleblower's saying is that weiss appointed by trump is that he was not the deciding official on this case. if that turns out to be true, doesn't that directly contradict what the attorney general has said? >> but weiss is not saying that. isn't the source weiss? i mean, if weiss was saying that, i would have a certain. if weiss was out there saying i didn't have total authority, there was interference, but weiss, weiss is the key person and he's not saying that. >> fox news contributor joe concha joins us now. joe, good morning to you, so david weiss responded to congress's request for all the documents in the hunter biden case and he said you can't have them because the case is still ongoing. now the wall street journal editorial board says in an op-ed about david weiss his refusal to contradict the whistleblower enhances their credibility. what do you think about that david weiss telling congress the

wife blower is wrong and you're just going to have to trust me? >> well, that's not going to fly, right? david weiss saying he never had the authority here, of course he has said that. and, look, what we're seeing here overall, in regards to this hunter biden story, is that we're starting to see more coverage of it, but then you see the row con a's of the world dismissing it like they dismissed the laptop as russian disinformation just weeks before a presidential election in 2020 and then throughout this entire process nothing to see here, no big deal. and, again, the story here carley, ashley, isn't so much about hunter biden, of course it is and the influence peddling that happened in places like china and ukraine, the question is, did his father profit and benefit from those particular dealings around energy companies in those places where his son had no experience in the energy business whatsoever and is the sitting president of the united states now compromised as a

result of those dealings with those particular places, particularly china. so this is a story that's not going to go away. you can't just dismiss sit. it has legs because now we have a gop congress under james comer, in this particular case an oversight that will not let this go because the evidence keeps mounting and mounting that there is a there there ashley >> ashley: you would think anyone with half a brain sell would know this isn't just about hunter biden it's about the sitting president of the united states. but when you talk about the media cover this, we're starting to slowly see them start to cover this more and more but do you think the public is really going to get the full story of what's happening here and all of these whistleblower testimonies all of the complaints the entire story has been going on for year. so by 2024 do you think the voters will get the full story because the media has refused to cover it and now they're just piece by piece putting it together. >> and by years ashley we're talking nearly five years now at this point and there's good chance these investigations

could be going on up until the 2024 election. the media has covered here, however, because all they have to do is say look over there, the donald trump trials are going on, whether it be the mar-a-lago documents, whether it be the ridiculous indictments regarding alvin bragg and hush money payments to an adult film star. there's probably going to be trials around georgia as far as voting there and the president's call to find 10,000 votes during one phone call at that point. so as long as donald trump has his problems, as far as his issues in the courtroom, the media will focus almost exclusively on that and look the other way, for the most part, with once in a while a question here and there, regarding hunter biden, joe biden, james biden, haley biden, the biden family in general making all that money from those places in china and icu where we have no idea the services rendered to make that kind of money in this situation ashley >> ashley: so many questions on this hunter biden situation too,
