freedom to go to parade, watch fireworks, tell a hero thank you. get decked out in red white and blue and probably wave the american flag. and most of you watching right now, already have plans to do just that. but the number of us who love america, is shrinking every year. patriotism is on the decline. look at this poll from gallup. 20 years ago, 70 percent of americans said, they were extremely proud to be an american.today, that number is down to 39 percent. if you break it down by party, 60 percent of republicans are extremely proud and only 29 percent of democrats.young americans, are the least proud verbose parties political diploma from the wall street journal.he says, only 30 percent of americans say patriotism is very important to them. in 1998, it was 70 percent. religion following the same trend. the numbers of americans say religion is very important to them. 25 years ago it was 62

percent. nothing says your optimistic about america like having a baby. the amount of americans who think having children is very important also, has been cut in half since 1998. these are scary numbers. and now, for the first time, a fox news poll shows almost half the country thinks america's best days are behind us. how do we get here? for the last decade we have hit by a nonstop barrage of anti-american rhetoric. what they want to cancel america, everything you know and love is wrong. if you are religious, you are a bigot. if you support the police, you are racist. if you love your troops are history, you are an evil colonizer. if you appreciate capitalism, you are an oppressor. having kids is bad for the environment. so is owning a home and a car. the constitution, that is just an old piece of paper written by a bunch of racist white guys. when the supreme court this

there. and like america, they are becoming less and less religious. they have lost touch with their roots and do not respect their history, or their country. riots have been going on for week over police involved shooting. we've seen the same thing here in america. will remember the summer of love when blm rioters torched police precinct and small businesses.

national pride, especially in the next generation of americans. as the first matrilineal ever running for the gop nomination, i think it is my responsibility.one of the things i think we should require, is that every high school senior who graduates from high school, should be required to pass the same civics test required of every immigrant who becomes a naturalized citizen in the country. young people don't value a country they just inherit. the evaluate country they have a stake in knowing something about. those are examples, is not a republican or democrat idea. have to think outside the standard partisan and identity area boxes to ask ourselves, how our kids generation will once again be proud of the greatest country known to mankind, the united states of america. >> no doubt that so much of this lack of patriotism, lack of knowledge about the things you talk about, our

constitution, our history, is happening in the schools. you say you want to chop off the head of the snake. if you're elected, he promised to get rid of the department of education. but are the teachers colleges also a place where we are training teachers to then grind to the schools, and create new activists, social justice warriors, instead of educating our population. >> you right the problem is pervasive and there is no silver bullet. there's a role for ever to play. it's just that i'm ready for us president i will tell you what the us president can do is most effective. shut down department of education that uses that money as a cudgel to get local school districts to adopt toxic and racial agendas. instead, give the money back to school to fund, underfunded school choice programs in those states. but it's going to require a competency response. and i think part of the problem rachel, is especially appointed to the right frontier, our schools. when young people no longer learn the rights that they even have in this country,

most young people couldn't really enumerate what they have in the bill of rights now, then when you take those rights away, they don't know what they've lost. so this is actually part of not just a country that's no longer proud, the path to an authoritarian state because what is an authoritarian state require? requires a publishing that didn't know the race actually enjoyed. that's what history teaches us. the loss of freedom and national pride, they go together. >> and explains why the young people that i thought would rise up the most under all these authoritarian covid rules and they were the most complacent of any part of the population, that explains a lot of why they just don't even know what rights they have. when they are taken away, they think it's normal. great having on the campaign, you bring up a lot of great issues and inspiring a lot of other candidates to follow suit. i think you are a great influence on this entire process. you for joining us today. >> thank you, rachel.
