paternity test and it was proven that hunter biden is the father, which makes joe biden the grandfather. the idea that government bureaucrats would say we'll lie to the american people and tell them that joe biden only has six grandkids when he actually has seven and he won't even meet with this young little girl and wants nothing to do with her, that says a lot about the biden family. it speaks for itself. >> julie: one thing for hunter because we don't expect much more but from the president you do expect much more or maybe we shouldn't expect much more. moving on, republican senator ron johnson told the daily mail the link between the prosecutor and hunter's business associate calls into question the integrity of their entire investigation. after hunter received a slap on the wrist do you think it adds to the fear that the president's son was handled with kid gloves by the d.o.j.? >> yes, senator johnson is one

7:10 am
what senator johnson is saying it throws the whole case into question and he is absolutely 110% right. >> julie: how might revelations like this and others in the fall of the charges impact the investigations in congress do you think? >> oh, a lot. i think before it's all over you will hear a lot about louie free, the idea that 100,000 ends up in joe biden's grandkids' account and the email traffic between him and hunter. this is just but one. that's not talking about china. how about jeff cooper? jeff cooper is hunter biden's business partner. when joe biden was the vice president of the united states, he joined him on air force ii to go to mexico. joe biden says i never had a discussion with my son about his business dealings. why were they flying on u.s. taxpayers dollars jeff cooper hunter biden's business partner to mexico to do business? we could go on for hours.

7:20 am
story. i worked for donald trump. one of the things we were able to achieve by the end of his presidency was america was completely energy independent. we weren't dependent on saudis and opec. the idea that opec could raise the price of gasoline in the united states wasn't possible because we were producing so much oil and gas here in texas, oklahoma, north dakota and alaska. because of these crazies policies of biden of shutting down pipelines and american energy we're dependent on opec. so this could cause gas prices to rise again. when trump left office, rich, let's not forget the gas price was $2.50 a gallon. it went up to $5 to $6 a gallon and come down to 3.50 and higher than when trump left office. if the saudis and opec cut back production it could go up at the pump. >> rich: there was a record high a year ago.
7:21 am
we're at 3:50 now. four producers are looking to maximize profit. at what point do they try to get gasoline prices -- what point do they want to get to to maximize profit here? you get to $ten a gallon in the united states, there will be a pullback on driving -- and they don't want to do that. is there a sweet spot? >> they'll put the price wherever they think they can earn the most money. that's what they do. so this is an argument for why we should be turning the spigots on and drill by drill here because that would mean we could lower the price at the pump. will we see increases in gas prices? hard to say. there is a lot of oil out there. they will do everything they can. the countries we're talking about iran, venezuela, russia, saudi arabia. these are countries that are not

person, this online virtual stuff is not good for learning in my opinion. >> rich: well, children in the netherlands could be cell phone free in the classroom as the dutch government looks to ban children from bringing their phones to class. schools will have until october 1st to arrange are restriction on their own. otherwise a national ban could be on the table. all right. well, talk about two extremes here, julie. >> julie: i don't think you should have a phone in the classroom. it is a distraction. we didn't have phones growing up. have the pay phone that i used to call my mom on the highway and i had to pull over to report home. >> rich: need a ride? carry the phone change. i couldn't wear a hat in the classroom in high school. >> julie: we couldn't chew gum in the classroom and you can carry a cell phone. there is too much on the phone

to distract our kids. fda approves a blood test to identify one of the leading causes of death in pregnant women offering early detection of preeclampsia that affects one in 25 pregnancies. let's bring in dr. marc siegel, a professor of medicine and fox news contributor. always great to see you, my friend. here is what the ptest looks like. it can tell you with 96% accuracy who won't develop the. 2/3 of women will -- it has been available in europe for several years. so i guess why now in the united states and how does this blood test work? >> why now is because the university of chicago and cedar sinai finished looking at this and basically petitioning the fda and gotten approved. it has been around a while.
7:53 am
i think it's a useful tool but i have limitations to it. what is preeclampsia. you develop headaches and blurry vision and protein pouring out of your urine and high blood pressure. what the test is designed to do to see those hospitalized with high blood pressure, who to pay most attention to? the head of maternal feet all medicine at nyu. she says if you think the test is negative we'll stop paying attention after we've hospitalized somebody for high blood pressure? that's a good clinical pearl. of course she have is right. the other point that's huge is the black population suffers from preeclampsia the most. who will cover this? insurance doesn't cover these kind of tools and medicaid doesn't cover them. so clinical vigilance is number one. this is a useful tool if we can get it. the last point i want to make is
7:54 am
what about treatment? if you develop preeclampsia how do you treat it? that's the most important. if you develop seizures or coma that can occur if it's untreated that's potentially life threatening. preeclampsia with treat with high blood pressure. we'll deliver the infant early if we can't get you under control. the tool may help us but not taking the place of a doctor's wisdom. >> julie: this condition it affects black women in the united states more. you would think authorities would get on board with that. there is no effective treatment for preeclampsia as you mentioned. it has been on the rise in recent years in the united states. up 25% over the past 20 years.
7:55 am
why the rise do you think? >> i think it's because of the fact that women are having babies older and women are having babies with more pre-existing conditions like diabetes and high blood pressure and other problems. i mentioned the world maternal fetal medicine. that's a specialist for women in higher risk. we have to figure out a way to get this type of service available around the country because we're getting women having babies older and older. that's probably the main issue. >> julie: more and more women are putting careers first and getting pregnant later in life. the medicine and technology have to catch up with modern times. dr. siegel, thank you so much for talking to us. happy fourth, miss you. >> you manage to do both, career and great children.
7:56 am
>> julie: i sure did. my first child wasn't born until i was 36, 37. what do they call us when you are older and pregnant? >> successful. >> julie: there was another word for it. it wasn't promising. that's the trend these days. thank you very much for talking to us. >> rich: gunfire is erupting out of philadelphia claiming the lives of five people and injuring two children. it is the latest violence plaguing cities this july 4th weekend. a live report on that next.
