on al qaeda-linked militants. we'll bring you updates throughout the morning. and look at the white house, as republicans call for a secret service update on the cocaine found in the west wing. doug luzader joins us. >> doug: a mystery the white house cannot explain. president byted was asked about it in the oval office yesterday with the prime minister of sweden. >> thank you for making the point the house oversight committee has jurisdiction over secret service. we are expected to be briefed over that. we have concerns with all the money and security around the white house, something like this should never happen. >> that was not president biden, it suggests impact this may have.

three officers involved in the investigation. his lawyers argue they need to understand the moth police used to investigate their client. the three officers played a key role on bryan kohberger's arrest. one interviewed witnesses at the scene and the other interviewed witnesses and one reviewed autopsy and tips. bryan kohberger is charged with killing four idaho students. >> carley: and james comer says a major -- is coming. >> we will have an announcement hopefully next week of more findings that we found. we are entering the deposition phase. >> ashley: doug collins says we need to know if there is corruption in the first family.

term i'm using loosely. the air is not much cooler. 70s and 60s and some temperatures in the 50s. storms across the texas panhandle, oklahoma panhandle and across the region, we have seen severe weather and will continue to see severe weather. denver stretching to kansas. fairly high and likely you will see severe thunderstorms. winds up to 60 miles per hour. isolated tornados in this region. not talking about big storms, talking about heat sweeping the region. temperatures will be warm, 1 13 degrees in -- climbing into the upper 90s. 98 and 96 in medford and back to the east coast and leave you there, as we see ectreme heat on

the east coast and jump through a couple days where temperatures linger in the middle 90s or so, getting closer to 100. out east today, 91 in baltimore, 88 new york. 90 in syracuse. summer-like temperatures, just storms in the middle of the country. >> carley: tis the season. >> ashley: house oversight chair james comer says new details will be released soon in the investigation of the biden family. >> up to six banks, jason and we'll have an announcement hopefully next week of more findings that we found. it is hard to cheat on bank records and requesting more bank violation and hope treasury will give access to potential bribery charges alleged in the fbi documents. our investigation is moving

along. >> carley: former ranking member and former georgia congressman doug collins joins us. you heard congressman comer talking about disturbing findings he'll announce about overseas money the biden family received. read between the lines and tell us how big of a deal this announcement might be? >> doug: it could be very big deal for everybody. the issue here that is coming up, why is congress, several years laters, having to find this out? that will be one issue that james comer is talking about. coming to the issue of bank records known, been known, been suspicious activity letters on this account. doj and fbi, nobody has ever commented on that and they are not denying the validity of the records. somebody has to answer why this wasn't a criminal activity or

why taxes weren't evaded. you can't find the money and not find the -- lack of doj work on this as well. >> ashley: we are expecting comer's announcement and today is deadline for u.s. attorney david weiss to judge jim jordan questions about hunter's federal tax case. weiss told jordan he is not at liberty to turn over the material and there is talk of subpoena to bring weiss before congress. we have seen what happened historically with giving them deadlines, what do you think will happen going forward? how do you see this playing out? >> doug: this is a concern i had a couple weeks ago when they made the charges against hunter and saying the doj would make an announcement about the ongoing investigation. here is what we're going to do with hunter right now and we will continue to investigate

this. congress, we will not turn over anything, we are still under investigation. this is classic case of doj trying to use the investigation term to answer questions that congress has. the american people are getting tired of it and i see this playing out in a long drawn out, jim jordan will have to subpoena the documents. they said, here are the charges and they said, it is still under investigation, that is code for saying we will not cooperate. >> carley: interesting there. talk about ice cream and 4th of july. ben and jerry's posted a tweet saying this 4th of july, high time we recognize the u.s. exists on stolen and ij dig nus land and commit to returning it and said we need to start with mount rushmore, the faces of men who worked to destroy indigenous culture to deny indigenous people basic rights.

keeping his challenger, r.f.k. jr. out of the race. this man is popular on social media and speaks to issues people care about. he has a strong position on the policy democrats put forward across the country when they were in control having to do with lockdown and coronavirus policy. r.f.k. will have opportunity to speak to constituencies and democrats are ignoring them to their own peril. he is an interesting person and has a lot of great things to say people want to talk about. >> carley: you mentioned hispanic voters and they are essential in the election. polls find hispanic voters prefer republican to democrats on inflation and handling of the economy and seems plausible trump or another republican could trigger a second hispanic surge to the gop in 2024. biden won the hispanic vote by

28% in 2020, but polls indicate hispanic voters are leaning toward the gop. how big of a vulnerability is this for democrats? >> hispanic voters, in polls over last few months, show propensity about caring about jobs and coronavirus policy. they are susceptible to individuals who talk about policy. if gop talks about policies that work for this community and everyone, it will work in the election. the hispanic voter is most motivated by information that tells them how they will be able to live and work and control their own destiny, that is something the gop has and democrats don't like talking about policy. interesting to see how they swing, polls show they are leaning right.

economic tension with china, do you foresee that happening any time soon? do you think there will be anything groundbreaking coming out of this meeting? >> administration is trying to downplay expectations as they should. congress has been engaged in malicious conduct, if anybody is trying toment the relationship, it should be china. they say we are trying to reestablish communication links. china see this is coming to the grand celestial court and making them even more dangerous, it is feeding their inflated ego of self-importance, doing things backwards. >> ashley: the treasury secretary, listen to what she had to say a few weeks ago.

>> health economic competition, where both sides benefit is only sustainable if this competition is fair. it would be disastrous for us to attempt to decouple from china, derisk, yes, decouple, absolutely not. >> carley: what do you think about that comment from her? is she right? >> she is wrong, we need to decouple. china declared people's war on the united states. we're americans and believe to be entitled to what the chinese say about us. the chinese mean what they say. we cannot allow ourselves to be dependent. the chinese hear that and say no difference between decoupling and the chinese don't see it that way. >> ashley: you said this could

be a dangerous situation, how dangerous when it comes to americans? >> on june 7, henry kissinger gave an interview to bloomberg and he said war between the united states and china is "probable." what we're talking about is a disaster of historic proportions, unless we change our policies. our policies are encouraging china to be more hostile, we have to change course, as kissinger said. kissinger is always wrong, but this time he is right. we may say it is not imminent, pentagon says war is not imtent, but we've never seen a military build-up and not go to war. >> carley: what is the economic situation like in china? they have been slow to recover from lockdowns, how dire is it over there?

>> we can see all the surge of increase in chinese migrant at the southern border, middle-class chinese able to pay 35 ahead to smugglers. china said it grew first quarter of thisser year, i think 1 or 2%, maybe zero and seeing the chinese economy head one direction down, especially continuing debt default and import decline show domestic decline and problem with exports. this is a dire situation, as you term it. >> ashley: gordon, do you see any chance in the future, near or far, of having healthy relationship between china and america under the biden administration? or will this have to be new set of administration to get to that point? >> what has to change is 100% view in the way the american

administration view china. not just biden, but i don't see the administration changing those views. they want to engage china, we've been trying to do that since the cold war and it produced disastrous results. until administration realize policies are wrong, we will go in the wrong direction, people need to prepare for what henry kissinger talked about, war between the united states and china. >> carley: military communication between the two countries is still frozen, which seems like a pretty big deal. >> certainly it is. that is the number one priority the biden administration to reestablish communication and that is not happening. again, what i'd like to see is the united states saying to china, if you want to talk, you have to come to the united states because you are the one causing the problems. we need administration to say that out loud to tell not only
