some 2.2 million people move to the southeast and over two years roughly the population of houston. according to a new report in bloomberg, six fast-growing states in the south have now added more to the national gdp than the northeast. those six states, florida, texas, georgia, the carolinas, tennessee are in a middle of a $100 million wealth migration. the u.s. economic center moves south. according to the irs, the south adds $100 billion in wealth, the northeast has lost $60 billion. president joe biden spent time in south carolina celebrating his green energy and money printing economic approach to politics and he said this is why there is growth in the south. >> we made a commitment. i'll be president for all americans, whether the elected officials voted for them or not. whoever you voted for. i've kept my promise.

tackle homelessness. local officials released figures on thursday showing the number of homeless people in los angeles county grew to an estimated 75,000 individuals. as of january 2023. close to 40,000 of the homeless live in the city of los angeles. >> i am frustrated, overwhelmed, and encouraged all at the same time. my own wish is that we would treat it like it's a hurricane. that there would be a state of emergency that would be acknowledged on a national level that allows us to bring in female. that is how i view it. >> it's funny because the city that has hurricanes and knows how to deal with them apparently knows how to deal with homelessness. miami, another large american city, warm weather, an estimated 1,000 homeless people. as compared to the 40,000 homeless in los angeles. i don't know, it could be

bidenonmics why people are moving south, or all that, job, freedom, safety, values. take a look at this map and look at the numbers. how much america has moved. in california, new york losing over 300,000 people while florida gaining over 300,000. texas gaining over 200,000 people. look at georgia, the carolinas, tennessee. at the states that are benefit with the growth and felt foul wealth, benefiting from people seeking policies to make their lives better. now, the associated press rode about this and they said this about the separation of america fear that they said america's are segregating by their politics at a rapid web fueling the greatest divide in modern history. one party controls the entire legislature and all but two states. at 28 states, the party has

controlled a super majority. at least one legislative chamber which means that they can override a governor's veto. not that it's necessary because in most of the states emma the governor is the same -- of the same party as the legislature. you see, there is a negative tone to the ap's description of the political divide in the separation of america, but this is not bad. the separation of america. this is in fact as intended. one of our founders, james madison believed federalism produces more efficient government by allowing each level to concentrate on the functions of government which they can carry out most effectively. the states should have jurisdiction he said over local matters while the federal government should have control over national matters. that's why they rode the tenth amendment to read the powers not delegated to the united states by the constitution not prohibited to the states are reserved to the states or to the people. there is a reason for that.

because people closer to the state is power closer to the people. to make choices. about how they want to live, how they want to be governed. america has clearly voted, they voted not for bidenomics, but they voted to be governed like texas, south carolina, florida. ron desantis is the governor of florida and a 2024 g.o.p. presidential candidate and joins us now. great to see you this evening. no one needs -- i think you yell from the rooftop because everybody knows the success that's florida under your leadership. the question for anybody watching tonight how can you take the success story of florida and make it a success story for america? >> well, bidenomics in a nutshell is you pay more for the necessities of life, your standard of living goes down. the government gets bigger and more powerful and ultimately

china will benefit from a lot of stuff. the reason why florida has done good leading net immigration and new business formations are employment rates way lower than the national average is because we have rejected the bidenomics. we govern conservatively. we do not spend our state into oblivion. we run big budget surpluses, we've actually paid down billions of dollars in state debt and a reasonable regulatory climate but all the other issues you have talked about are important in driving migration and i think the economy. we do not let criminals from the street and we should not allow that in any country. if we respect every parent's rights throughout the country should be respected. it doesn't matter if you live in a red or blue state. we've gotten indoctrination out of our curriculum so all of those things i think are important for a good quality of life. you can theoretically have good economic policy, but if you've got san francisco style

socialist policy, everything will end up decaying. >> there is no greater endorsement for ron desantis then not just the policies come up with the execution of the policies in florida. i've got to ask you, governor of. why do you think despite the successes so far, it has not been reflected in your polling for year 2024 run for president of the united states? i've got several different poles and i know you're familiar with them. the latest with them being from a group entitled the beacon center, but we've got real clear politics averages as well. while donald trump is about 50% and some of the polls 60%, your numbers are between 20%-10% and they've stayed there for about two months. why is it in your estimation the numbers have not reflected your success in florida? >> i think if you look at the people like the corporate media, who are they going after? who did they not want to be the nominee? they are going after me.

who's the president of mexico attacking? because he knows we'll be strong on the border and the cartels. he's going after me. i think if you look at all these people that are responsible for a lot of the ills on our society, they are targeting me as the person they do not want to see as the candidate. this campaign just started but i think it's pretty clear that i am the guy that not only can beat biden, i am the guy that can beat the left on all the different issues because people's freedoms are under assault. if we had to fight all these people in florida, and i think any republican in the country, i've got the best record of defeating the left on issue after issue and i will be making the case over the next six or seven months. i'm running to win in january and february. i'm not running to just poll now. >> will: i believe there some truth in this and you shall be defined by your enemies. i appreciate you bringing up those who are attacking you in your run for president. what about those that support

you? a steve cortes is one of the major leaders of the super pac that supports ron desantis and he acknowledges the numbers right now are not where they need to be the art of governor, i would be clear with you, we have met on one occasion and i think you have done a wonderful job. what i'm trying to suss out tonight is when the job, if ever, begins to resonate in the numbers for you for president. as i mentioned, we have meds and i like you a lot. but there are those that say there something about you that is not connecting for whatever reason. not connecting with the voter, whether a personality, donald trump says it's about loyalty, francis suarez says it's about your relationships. it's not about the individuals, i'm curious about the analysis of ron desantis, of why not yet is connecting. >> well, as you see the news today about the record fund fund-raising, nobody has been able to match that in presidential politics.

we have a huge amount of support to take the case to the people. we are in the process of building out a great organization and i think we will be on the ground in all the early states. 3 yards and a cloud of dust type situation where we will be doing. at the end of the day, nobody has stood up for hardworking americans more than i have over the last five years. and delivered the level of results that i have. that will be a great story to tell because if we did it in florida, we absolutely could do it as president. that will mean the border, the invasion stops, the economy is restored. it will mean that woke ideology ends up in a dustbin of history. >> will: one more path to the presidency, you said it's about beating joe biden and that's the real question. in order to get to the fights, you have to beat donald trump and i don't wish to be negative and not all negative news. the favorability poll shows you with republican voters and among

donald trump voters have a very high favorability. i can ask you about connecting with individuals but at the same time people at least to show to some extent they like ron desantis. but the question is, how do you take that and make the case that they should like you more than donald trump to give to joe biden you have to beat donald trump. >> a lot of those things show i have the highest but we have a lot more to do. i've been attacked more than anybody and donald trump spent over 20 million attacking me. more than supporting republican candidates in last year's midterm elections. we are in a situation where we will tell our story but we appreciate those marks and i think we will be able to improve on them significantly. at the end of the day, people want to win. you cannot win with just republican voters. i think we showed in florida if you want a big victory, you've got to win with independent voters and people who have not voted for our party in the last several cycles. i've shown i can do that and we

of your child's education. >> will: exactly, very well put. thank you so much. >> will: new york city mayor eric adams embroiled in a new controversy after he was caught lying about a fallen cop. fox's matt finn has the story. it match to speak to "the new york times" is calling into question new york mayor adam's story that for years he had a photo in his wallet of his friend robert a fallen nypd officer shot and killed in 1987. during the first month in office last year, the mayor told a story that he still thinks about and keeps his picture in his wallet. but days after the mayor first told the story, the mayor's staffers were instructed to recreate an old looking photo of the officer according to two unidentified former city hall aides. employee imprinted a black and white photo of the officer and

spilled coffee onto it to make it look old. "new york times" reporter later asked the mayor to see the picture he claimed to be walking around with and the mayor agreed to pose for the up close photo holding the alleged manufactured picture of the fallen officer. today, spokesperson for mayor adam slamming the story saying the mayor's office provided statement saying they were good friends beard and the mayor's office writing after the allegation was disproven the times refocused its piece on when the photo was printed be ardent to be clear, mayor adams made the photocopy of a photograph of auch sir venable that was printed in the nypd transit news bulletin from 19877 which mayor adams has up to this day and the time stopped. they told fox digital that the mayor's office did not deny the crux of the story that aides printed the photo and made it looked age.
