latest on the fight and the fallout. good evening. >> reporter: just a few days ago, twitter owner elon musk made headlines when he challenged meta ceo mark zuckerberg to a cage match. that cage match is still tbd but a legal battle between the two might actually be heating up. twitter is reportedly threatening to sue meta the parent company of facebook and instagram that is owned by zuckerberg alleging that a copy twitter with its remarkably similar new social media platform threads. that officially launched last night and is even being there for the twitter killer. in a letter published by the media reporter max bottani, musk's lawyers sent a cease and desist to zuckerberg claiming that mehta has engaged in systematic his appropriation of twitter's trade secrets and even hired a former twitter employees. musk responded to the lawsuit making headlines by tweeting, quote, competition is fine, cheating is not." fox news reached out to meta for

comment. director andy stone responded to the lawsuit on the new threads platform writing, "no one on the thread's engineer team is a former twitter employee. that is just not a thing." the lawsuit comes after wednesday night's debut of the threads which saw 30 million new users signed up within a few hours and we discussed it on a nightcap right here. >> trace: that cage match is getting more and more interesting. i mean, that is pay per view, right? >> absolutely. i will between an. will have more on the story and later in the show with fox news headlines. meantime, we have no information on the investigation into the cocaine found in the west wing of the white house. international courts correspondent kevin corke his life in the nation's capitol with the latest on this. kevin good evening. >> kevin: as you can well imagine, it really does not take a whole lot to get tongues wagging here in washington especially when it comes to the white house drama. in this instance, it is much more than just an annoyance for

the white house. one that can certainly do without because you see the discovery of cocaine inside one of the world's most secure buildings is a major security threat. it could have been anthrax or some other chemical agent. and that is why getting to the bottom of exactly who had the coke and how on earth it got there it is important and to hear experts tell it, there's a chance they already know. >> nobody knows that facility better than the uniformed division officers and the special agents of the circuit service. they know every nook and cranny of it. they know every place where videotapes are available. my guess is the secret service has a fairly good idea of who may be involved in this situation. >> kevin: they have spent many a day and many a night in that building. there's a good chance they know. here is what we know so far. cocaine found sunday night. secret service carrying out fingerprints and dna analysis. also reviewing visitor logs and

security footage. for their part, the white house is saying they can't say very much because of the hatch act. which makes no sense, of course, if you know what the hatch act is all about. there is some reporting tonight that the probe could wrap up as soon as monday. others still insist, trace, that this could take weeks to log on exactly who had the drugs. we have also heard there's a chance we may never know, which would seem very, very hard to believe. trace? >> trace: they would like to lead with that. we may never know who the perpetrator is on this. kevin, thank you. let's bring in the author of the book, when he patrick. it is great to have you on. the interesting thing is we have been given three different locations for a while -- where they found this cocaine. somebody told them where they found it and we are getting three different locations. what do you make of that? but i've been tracking the

staggering, trace. but if i'm going to joke around about it i will say that you know what? maybe the presidential debate prep has begun and joe biden is actually responding. earlier today, there was an announcement from the fda that there's clearly a shortage of adderall in this country. so the coincidence seems to tee up for a little joke. it is fun we can have with it. >> trace: it really is amazing. we will find out more in the coming days. i want to talk 2024, president biden was in south carolina touting bidenomics. this is him and i will get your take. >> president biden: it is just another way of saying the story of the american dream. i believe every american believe that if they work hard they should get a good job no matter where they live. >> trace: 70% of americans say the economy is not working for them. he is running on bidenomics. whwhat do you think. >> i think bidenomics has been nothing but an unmitigated

disaster. the one thing that he plans to is that the so-called unemployment rate is low. but the real problem that we have in this country is that many people have voluntarily entered the workforce because the government has paid them more money to stay at home than to go to work. the will -- we are slated to grow at less than 1% gdp growth this year. that is anemic. and the good news is we have a clear path to get back to four plus% gdp growth. that is what i want to lead us to. rack, burn coal. embrace nuclear energy. put people back to work. the very things that president biden seems to be opposed to are exactly who we are closed but we are going to need to do if we are going to grow our economy again. >> trace: the first primaries are just more than six months away. the first gop debate is next month and yet the only thing to be sure of is that clear and consistent majorities of republicans, democrats, independents, don't want the choice they are likely to get from the race between joe biden

and donald trump. but yet, it appears the way it is looking right now. >> well, i think that we are very early in this respect we have to keep that in mind that most of this country does not even know who i am yet and i'm glad to see we are doing better in the polls than donald trump was doing even in june of 2015. by a wide margin, actually. i think it is still early in this race. i think the real race begins with the debate stage in august. i'm looking forward, that is -- debate stage. history should teach us that all of those polls are just noise anyway. i'm looking forward to helping define what we stand for and why we stand for it. that would be good for the republican party and it will be good for the country. >> trace: you mentioned the debates. you take the polls and i'm going to put the polls up. these are the voters. -- you can see former president trump at 56. six. the numbers, 5%. how is it that he is ahead of a

former vice president and a former governor and investor? >> what is most encouraging to our campaign is that that is against the backdrop of a very low name i.d. still. so very little of this country still knows who i am yet. i'm hoping to change that with the start of the debates. what i will say, trace is that voters across this country seem to reward someone who is an outsider, who is unafraid to speak their mind actually in the open at one of the things about me in this campaign is i am unconstrained. i would rather speak my mind freely and honestly at every step and honestly lose the election than to won by playing some political snakes and ladders. so far, that seems to be the winning strategy and it is the one we are going to stick to. >> trace: vivek ramaswamy, the best of luck. >> thank you, trace. ♪ ♪ >> trace: first up and tonight's real news roundup, big box of i. the new indiana jones movie was

b, high. i know places in canada he would -- would love to have you. we hope to see you soon. several social media users were quick to point out that maybe trudeau should get his priorities in order with one tweet reading simply, how about you put out the wildfires. ♪ ♪ the fox news at night commonsense department just got word that california assembly bill 1078 which would make it harder to ban schoolbooks just made it out of the education committee. so one step closer to becoming law. supporters of the bill say it is meant to combat the christian white supremacist movement or as the author of the bill says, it targets the radicalization of christian faith. so, are these radical christian white supremacist? well, they are parents, teachers and school board members who object to actually graphic schoolbooks. commonsense wonders if these democratic state lawmakers have stopped paying attention altogether.

control of offenders assaulting young underage girls. >> trace: great to have you with as. but meantime, the company between the titan tourist sub that imploded appears to be shutting down amid reports of previous problems being ignored. lauren blanchard is live with more on that. good evening. >> reporter: good evening. nearly three weeks since the titan submersible likely imploded on its way to the titanic wreckage site killing all five or more. now the company that owned the vessels as they are closing up shop. oceangate's website, banner reads oceangate has asked suspended all expiration and commercial operations. there were two future expeditions to the tannic bruins planned for june 2024. now a team of investigators led by the u.s. coast guard are working to understand what exactly happened in order to prevent something similar in the future. the team recovered debris and presumed human remains from the wreckage site last week but officials say there is still a substantial amount of work to be

and unprofessional. here is the chief national security correspondent jennifer griffin. >> reporter: releasing this video of the second incident of a russian warplane harassing an american into nine reaper drones over syria. >> clearly meant to harass and clearly unprofessional and unsafe behavior. we call on the russian forces to seize this type of reckless behavior. >> reporter: at 10:40 a.m. local time, three russian military planes began harassing three american reaper drones. the u.s. central command released this video of the incident. russian jets dropped multiple parachute flares in front of the u.s. drones. forcing the drones pilots to conduct evasive maneuvers. then according to -- one russian pilot positioned his aircraft in front of the american ground. he lit the afterburner attempting to damage the drone's

electronics, making it hard for the operator to control the drone. lieutenant general alex khatkevich expressed frustration in a recent interview with fox news. >> they have been informed they were airspace that they have agreed not to fly into it. they are flying right over top. they are focused on the defeat of isis. it is something that is very disturbing and has got our attention. >> reporter: in march, a russian warplane struck the propeller of another u.s. surveillance drones over the black sea after dumping fuel on the american reaper forcing the nuestra to crash into the water. >> u.s. central command deployed f-22 raptor fighter jets into the to deter russia from these kinds of incidents. they did not appear to have succeeded. the french military said russia warplane's arrest two their fighter jets patrolling the syria rack border. that is three incidents involving russian warplanes in the past 24 hours.

trace? >> trace: indeed. jennifer -- jennifer, thank you. let's bring in republican congressman cory mills. pentagon says that the russian behavior is unsafe and unprofessional. i would think there would be stronger language. blinken is dangerous. there's a lot of things. when you talk about, you know, three in 24 hours it gets to be a pattern. >> thanks for having me and you are exactly right. not only is it become a pattern but we have seen as was indicated earlier that in march, we actually had a russian fighter disrupt one of our -- causing it to crash. what we are seeing a ramp up and i have been talking about this for years about the russia, china, iran and geopolitical alignment. you are seeing this similar type of activity with the chinese as well throughout the taiwan strait as well as south china sea when it comes to dangerous or unprofessional type of behaviors when it comes to naval vessels. and so they feel more emboldened and i feel at this is actually part of the weakness and light

aggression response and t that s and that is where the biden administration and others need to be taking a little bit stronger stance on things as opposed to saying, oh, well this continues to happen. it is unprofessional. >> trace: and you talk about a pattern. we touched on that. i want to go back three weeks. jennifer griffin was talk about the top air force commander in the middle east and i want to play a soundbite from him because this is on june 16th. watch. >> we have seen a pattern of behavior where the russians will fly through airspace. they typically have to conflict with. they are supposed to call us before they come into the airspace. >> trace: it is almost like russia is taunting us. what would you call it? >> that is exactly what they are doing, trace. originally this happened a few years ago where we had incidents with an reps and other russian military vehicles in syria now it is escalated to they are flying into international

airspace that has been donated kind of as a free space that each one of us notify one another. what you are seeing is the same thing that russia is doing when it comes to syria. you are seeing a similar behavior of china with regards to taiwan where they are coming into areas that are taiwanese. and so i look at this and having just returned from an armed services, the bipartisan delegation led by chairman rogers, of the armed services, made it, i can tell you that this type of activity by russia and by china and by iran and north korea is something we should be expecting until we take an actual action to stop this and bring in a more international policy perspective. >> trace: i'm glad you brought up china because it brings us to the next subject. the secretary of state has gone there. janet yellen is on space in there now. john kerry is going to go there and talk climate change in the next week or so. we keep going over there. we keep bringing nothing back home. >> that is not surprising. again, the administration has done nothing but try and -- or

look, it isn't always the most healthy and productive conversation? no. in a polarized society when everyone is in their media silo and the algorithm is tailored to reinforced that, it is nice to have people with different ideas in the same form. >> trace: yup, fairpoint. robert de niro's grandson died apparently overdosed on fentanyl. his mom for wrote the following on instagram, quoting here someone told him fentanyl laced pills that they knew was laced yet still sold them. for all of these people still effing around, selling the stuff, my son is gone forever. it is a tragic story. we have been talking about this for 2 1/2 years and talking about the border and the fentanyl and you have these factions in hollywood not saying a word about her. and it hits home and his home hard and this is what you have been talking about you know, something has to be done. >> reporter: something has to be done. bill is doing great reporting.
