6:01 pm
from poking fun at his age. despite serious worries from voters. have a look. >> i've been doing this a long time. i know i don't look that old. [laughter] i'm a little under 103. a lot of you are tired. you're tired. i get it. try being 110 and doing it. i know i'm 198 years old. but all kidding aside, think about that. call me old. i call it being seasoned. all the years i was a senator, which were 270. >> jason: meanwhile, the white house cocaine scandal isn't going away. house republicans announced they are launching an investigation, which of course was immediately dismissed by the left as a political stunt. and when asked about the incident earlier today,
6:02 pm
white house press secretary karine jean-pierre completely dodged the question. have a look. >> can you say once and for all whether or not the cocaine belonged to the biden family? >> so... a couple of things there. we've answered this question. we have litigated this question for the last two days exhaustively. you know, there has been some irresponsible reporting about the family, and so i've got to call it out here. i've been very clear. i was clear two days ago when talking about this over and over again, as i was being asked the question, as you know and media outlets reported this, the biden family was not here. they were not here. they were at camp david. they were not here friday. they were not here saturday. they were not here sunday. they were not even here monday. they came back on tuesday. so to ask that question is actually incredibly responsible. and i'll just leave it there.
6:03 pm
>> jason: while joe's problems mount, the question is, is kamala harris really any better? our giggling vice president launched into yet another bizarre word salad. this time on the topic of culture. have a look. >> culture is, it is a reflection of our moment and our time, right? and present culture is the way we express how we are feeling about the moment. and we should always find times to express how we feel about the moment that is a reflection of joy 'cause it comes in the morning. [laughs] we have to find ways to also express the way we feel about the moment in terms of just having language and a connection to how people are experienced in life.
6:04 pm
>> jason: wow. insightful. here with reaction, texas congressman ronny jackson and fox news contributor tammy bruce. thank you both for being here with us. i want to start with you, congressman. congressman, you're not just any congressman. you were the physician to the president for president obama as well as to president trump. so you've got a perspective that's unique here. we joke. we laugh. we smiled. we cringe at the idea of what president biden does on almost a daily basis. but the cognitive decline, the cognitive capabilities of this president, it scares a lot of people more and more. >> that's right. i was at the white house for 14 years. i was also white house physician during the bush administration so i have seen firsthand what it takes mentally and physically to do this job as president of the united states. i watched every day what it
6:05 pm
takes physically and cognitively to do it. you can see. you have to be a physician. you have to be a former white physician at this point -- former white house physician at this point. it's sad. i feel bad for him. he's being pushed forward and prompted to run again. i don't think he's in the loop about what's going on most of the time. the people around him have failed the country and have taken a selfish approach to this. joe biden who in my mind -- jill biden who wanted to be first lady more than she wanted her next breath. people in the oval office. their power, their authority, their position relies on him being there and sitting in the oval office in that chair they do not want to lose that no matter what even if it's costing our country, which it really is. it's a national security issue for us. it's a danger to our country and its destroying us internationally and domes domestically. >> jason: tammy, it truly is a national security issue, as the congressman mentions.
6:06 pm
this also is something that's not going to necessarily get better with time. >> no, no. it's gotten worse with time, right? look, we understand ambition. that's fine. we all have it. but ronnie is absolutely correct. you've got to deliver. the founders knew that it would have to be men and we now know women of ambition the end of action. it was about delivering the job. now it's about being a mascot. it's about being a front person. that's the antithesis of what that job requires and what the constitution requires. you've got to have somebody in front who can be held responsible but now the people making the decisions, it's fair to say, are not in front. they are nameless and faceless purity might know some of their names. we don't really what they're doing. part of the legitimacy of government is the trust we have to install and what it is that's going on, and we have seen out
6:07 pm
poll after poll that the legitimacy of government, i.e. the trust the american people have in government, has just dropped off a cliff. and that is bad for everything. how we view authority. whether we will follow orders, whether or not -- the same goes for our enemies and our friends, how they view the nation and whether or not the president has their back or is going to respond to some outrageous action like oh, i don't know, invading ukraine. this all plays out. the natural of it from afghanistan to the economy to not answering questions about cocaine in the white house. it's outrageous. what we are seeing. the things that they laugh at, it's remarkable. that's our dynamic and the american people clearly want something more. >> jason: congressman, put on your congressional hat for a moment. there are a lot of people concerned about the capabilities of kamala harris.
6:08 pm
just put her in charge of artificial intelligence and i don't know that she can spell ai. so for her to take the lead here scares a lot of people as well. >> absolutely. i think it didn't get as much attention as it should that damien heard the czar of artificial intelligence. she can't carry on a conversation even with small children and make sense. it's been an insurance policy for joe biden for quite some time because a lot of people look at joe biden and they realize that he shouldn't be there and then they look at the alternative and they see kamala harris and they look back and go, maybe we'll just stick with joe biden. i call it fear of kamala. they don't want to go there either. it's not a good alternative. it has worked to joe biden's advantage but i think it's going to work to his disadvantage done or they are running again. she's not a good running mate and she's going to continue to bring him down and i think she
6:09 pm
would be just as incapable of running this country as he is for completely different reasons. he is incompetent because of his age. she is just baseline incom incompetent. >> jason: tammy, your last thoughts on this issue. >> i think that we are at a real inflection point here, the democrats clearly have a lot of problems but everybody knows what's going on. the democrats known. the republicans know. even though you might not like democrats, we've at least got to get people in that chair, in that office who we can hold responsible for the decision-making who will personally understand about what's at stake and the fact that they will be the ones who will face the repercussions, good or bad, own it comes to the decisions they make. neither one, biden nor kamala harris, really has that pressure because they know they're not the ones doing anything for this country. other people are. so on both sides of the aisle, and this has to be admitted to
6:10 pm
and it has to be changed. >> jason: it does need to be addressed. congressman jackson, tammy bruce. thank you very much for joining us tonight on "hannity." all right, 2024 republican presidential candidate vic ramaswamy is slamming the white house over its refusal to directly address the cocaine scandal. he joins us now with more on this administration's lack of transparency. vivek, you have seen multiple different stories. what you're -- what's your thought and perspective on the issue? >> is a joking matter, my first reaction was that president biden has begun his presidential debate prep. but the reality on a more serious note is that the white house security seems about as porous to the influx of drugs into the white house as our own southern border does under biden's watch as well. in both cases you have something that was supposedly secure but
6:11 pm
drugs actually flowing through both with the white house hearing nary a peep about why so i think it's another example of an administration that has repeatedly built the muscle memory of lying to the public, hiding faxed the public. this is among the more trivial examples but it's a good example nonetheless of the fact that this is an administration that has made a habit out of either lying or hiding from the public. that's exactly what they're doing here. >> jason: i just don't understand why there are multiple reports about different locations on where this was found. because when the story first broke, they actually did some degree of evacuation. there was some -- but they didn't know what the white powder was pretty could have have been something truly horrific, as happened in congress once upon a time. toad i just don't understand why this story continues to change. there was but one answer. why we've had different perspective i don't get. >> i think the reality is,
6:12 pm
jason, they have built such a habit of constantly prevaricating, constantly lying, constantly hiding that even when it's not something unimportant. if you -- had to bet my money on it right now, it wasn't something particularly damning for joe biden in terms of who actually brought that in. it might've been worker or somebody else. but they have gotten in such a habit on the important things of lying about it that now translates to literally everything they talk about. if i were in their position it could have been an easy opportunity to build trust with the public and the press corps to be able to just say here's what happened. it was a mistake. insecurity. here's how we are going to fix it. it would not of been a story. but it's part of the habit of it did nutrition to hide by way of habit that turned even something like this into a lasting story. that is the biden administration in a nutshell. >> jason: it's what's playing out in real time. the vac ramaswamy, thank you for joining us tonight. between his endless reckless spending and soaring inflation,
6:13 pm
bidenomics is crippling our economy and americans' wallace. it has not stopped joe from his plan. here's what he said today. >> since i have been in office, we've been carrying out my economic vision. [feedback] [laughter] all right. carrying out my economic vision from tr trickle-down economics o what everyone in "the wall street journal," the "financial times" is calling bidenomics. growing the economy for the middle out on the bottom up. >> jason: here with reaction is louisiana senator john kennedy.
6:14 pm
senator, thank you for joining us. assuming everybody understands if you have a technical glitch but bidenomics, that's not a technical glitch. that's on purpose. >> well, jason. here is a cold unfortunate dish of truth. president biden's number one a compliment since he has been president is to lower the standard of living and quality of life for most americans. he's a nice guy but when it comes to economics, president biden is like a hog on ice. it's not complicated, the united states is the largest economy in the world and we have the largest government in the world and for 20 months, government has been growing faster than the economy. that's intentional. that's what president biden
6:15 pm
wants. it's caused inflation. i think history will record that at least thus far joe biden is an inflation machine. now, the white house denies all of this. they don't want to the president to talk about inflation. that's why they've invented bidenomics. and here's the argument of bidenomics. your 401(k) crashed and you have to sell blood plasma in order to go to the grocery store because the economy is so good. if you believe that, you shouldn't be driving, as lindsey graham says. there are only two ways to get control of the inflation. door number one is the federal reserve raises interest rates to 8% or 9%, which will crash the economy and put millions of people out of work. door number two is to have the
6:16 pm
federal reserve raise interest rates slightly more but half the president and my democratic colleagues in congress reduce the rate of growth of spending and debt accumulation. those were the only two choices. >> jason: senator, isn't one of the other choices -- i agree with both of those. i think you need to do one of those. but it could also drive down the cost of goods by being an energy independent nation. if you don't control energy. if you have the rapid rise of energy costs, every sector of our economy, it hurts. that's one of the root causes of this inflation. it wasn't the war in ukraine and putin's fault. it was the idea that we stopped producing energy in this country, right? >> that was part of it. we had a shock to the world economy when the supply of
6:17 pm
natural gas and oil was cut short. we weren't ready. because president biden had sacrificed america's energy independence on the altar of wokeism. but energy is part of inflation but it's not the only part of it. what's caused inflation is too much money chasing too few goods caused by federal spending. >> jason: amen. totally agree. i want to get your take, senator, on cocaine at the white house. we don't seem to get straight, consistent answers. are you going to be able to understand what's going on with this investigation? my guess, just a guess, the united states secret service already knows how this happened. they just haven't told us yet. >> well, i haven't seen the news today. did they find more blow in the white house or are we still talking about the first stuff?
6:18 pm
look, i've been in the situation room. there are cameras everywhere. and pretty sure the secret service nose. i don't know. i don't know who did it. i don't know who's blow it was. i probably shouldn't say this. but if my record was as bad as this white house's record, i would probably give my staff blow too. i'm only kidding. they'll get to the bottom of it. frankly, i'm not saying it's not significant. it's not earthshaking. >> jason: yeah. they can make it a much bigger story but they can also dismiss it. by concerned about their continuing to morph their story. it changes. it was found here. that it was found there. that was fun over there. it seems as if it's being spun as a different story than it
6:19 pm
actually is instead of just dealing with them directly. >> well, i said the other night. it's never the crime. it's the cover up through the white house could have handled this really simply by saying hey, the secret service found some cocaine in the situation room. we don't know how it got in here. but my god were going to find out. as soon as we find out who's blow it is we're either going to fire them and/or prosecute them. we'll let you know. then tell the american people the truth. this white house doesn't do that. i don't know whether it's contempt for the average american. they think they can stonewall and talk their way out of anything instead of looking the american people in the eye in front of god and country and say yeah. some chowder head brought some blow into the white house. if we're going to find out who it is and take appropriate measure and will keep you po posted. >> jason: well, they never do
6:20 pm
it that smoothly, senator. that's why we always love having your perspective. thank you for joining us tonight on "hannity." as evidence grows in the hunter biden probe, hunter's legal team is doing everything they can to shut whistle-blowers down. chairman jason smith joins us with the latest. plus brett tolman and matt whitaker when we return.
6:21 pm
6:22 pm
6:23 pm
6:24 pm
>> jason: welcome back to the special edition of "hannity." last week one of hunter biden's attorneys wrote to the chairman of the house ways and means committee to slam the irs whistle-blower who has exposed apparent government misconduct in the hunter biden tax case. the lawyer called the whistle-blower a disgruntled
6:25 pm
person, pushing a misinformation campaign. but the whistle-blower's attorney is now firing back. here's what he told our own trace gallagher yesterday. >> these attacks are really nothing more than just character assassination. special agent tapley has gone through the process, the legal process of disclosing and becoming a whistle-blower. he went to capitol hill. he sat for hours of testimony, questioned by democrats and republicans, taking their turns, whatever topics they wanted to get into. they could ask them. he was under the penalties of being prosecuted for false statements. if he gave a full statement. these attacks are meritless, baseless, and we are watching to defend our client and we wish the press wouldn't cover these attacks when they are baseless and they know they are baseless. >> jason: we also know that the whistle-blower has been allegedly retaliated against for coming forward. which, if true, is illegal.
6:26 pm
now members of both the house and the senate are launching an investigation to learn more. one of them is house ways and means committee chairman jason smith and he joins us right now. chairman, thank you for joining us. i've got to tell you. nothing makes me more irate then the idea that they are being or retaliatory. they are retaliating, i should say, against a whistle-blower who has done at the right way. a valiant public service, highly credible. the idea that he's being retaliated against, what's your reaction? what's happening next? >> jason, it's great to be with you. let's put the record out. if you look at where we got to where we are today, we have two whistle-blowers. one that came public and the other we released their sworn testimony as well. both of those whistle-blowers claimed that they have now been retaliated. that's in fact we are looking
6:27 pm
into in the house ways and means committee because whistle-blowers are protected by federal law. they are protected by congress. my very first week as chairman of the ways and means committee, i set up the whistle-blower hotline so any employee at the irs could contact us to let us know of anything we should be aware of whether we should be looking for looking into and this is where we are getting a lot of this information. erase the best way to do oversight for the american people that this administration needs. >> jason: what is the retaliation question records are they actually doing to these two people? >> one of the whistle-blowers claimed that they were passed over by someone who was less qualified for a higher position. there was also, both of the whistle-blowers claimed that after they came forward, they were both removed from the hunter biden case that they were investigating and that they had
6:28 pm
both been on since 2018. that is crazy, and acceptable. that's why myself, senator grassley, senator johnson, jim jordan and jamie comer has asked the special counsel to look into this more aggressively. >> jason: so where does it go next? because they made these allegations. are there hearings that are pending? what comes up next? >> great question. in fact, we sent a letter, myself, jim jordan, jamie colby, asking for over a dozen of individuals to come for our committees for testimony. some fbi agents, some are secret service agents, some are irs investigators. some are department of justice prosecutors. other associates. we have asked them to respond to us by july 13 so that we can get open public testimony. i would hope that they would
6:29 pm
voluntarily come because there's a lot of information that we need to look into, the oct october 7, 2022, meeting with the whistle-blowers outline that directly they heard that the u.s. prosecutor in this case in delaware said that he could not bring charges and the district of columbia. he was denied that. he could not bring charges in california. he was denied that. he was denied a special prosecutor, yet you have the attorney general of the united states saying that he has true independence. the facts aren't lining up. that's why we need to hear from additional people that was in that meeting and to see if all these conversations are coming together. >> jason: chairman smith, glad you're on top of it. we really do appreciate. thanks for joining us on "hannity." here now with more reaction, former u.s. attorney brett tolman and former acting attorney general matt whitaker.
6:30 pm
gentlemen, thank you for joining us tonight. matt, let me start with you. this idea of retaliating against whistle-blowers. that's just intolerable in my mind. >> is, jason. good to be with you. it's not only intolerable. these irs special agents were criminal investigators, very valuable resources in federal law enforcement. they do only the worst of the worst cases. not only to pull them off a case but then to punish them for just trying to do their job and throw flag quite frankly to say this case against hunter biden is not being treated the same way that every other case they've ever investigated. that's a serious, serious allegation and then for the irs and the doj to punish them i think interest to your your point completely unacceptable. >> jason: matt, let me stay with you for just a second. the idea, the u.s. attorney in delaware, on the one hand he says publicly that he has full authority but the whistle-blowers are saying no. he said he couldn't charge
6:31 pm
something with d.c., something that involved california. what's your take on that? because the u.s. attorney there in delaware, doesn't seem like he is shooting straight on this one. speak with the doj policy is that in order to bring a case in a district other than your own you either need to be a special, special prosecutor with special designation or the u.s. attorney and the other district has to cooperate with your case. attorney general garland is sitting that mr. weiss had full authority to bring cases where ever he felt he could bring cases. all misleaders six witnesses that heard mr. weiss say the exact opposite said he couldn't bring those cases and was thwarted. >> jason: yeah. this is just -- greeks. it just stinks. brett, your former u.s. attorney here. you've seen a lot of gun charges going along. you look at the gun charges that happen with hunter biden. this one, was it treated like all the other gun cases? >> thanks, jason, for having me
6:32 pm
on. great to be with matt as well. i will tell you that i did hundreds, presented hundreds of cases. felony possession cases to grand juries. not only was it not treated like others, but i can find no instance in reviewing almost 200,000 illegal possession of firearms cases in which they granted a diversion. the reason why it's. think about this. president of e united states says going to be tough on crime. he extends the punishment, the potential punishment for the exact same crime his son is accused of from 1015 years but then we learned he's getting a diversion. i just think about all the families that had husbands, fathers, brothers that were sentenced to 40, 50, 60 months under this statute and then thinking about the fact that they were never offered a diversion. that's a system of justice that is not consistent. it's not fair. certainly not what me and matt
6:33 pm
fought for when we were u.s. attorneys. >> jason: explained diversion. what does that mean? what's going to actually happen? in many peoples minds, it means nothing. >> yeah, well, i will tell you i have no experience with diversion. probably matt doesn't either because less than 1% of all cases and doj are ever resolved this way. it's in essence saying we think you do the crime but we are going to allow you to avoid going to prison and we'll even wipe out the felony if you'll behave. that's a diversion and that's what they are offering to hunter biden fool, we all know was for and viewed on that laptop. you tell me. is he someone that deserves that kind of second chance when no one else is offered that. >> jason: matt, any other perspective? >> want to follow it brett said. we were u.s. attorneys, someone came in with this type of case which is a serious coupled with
6:34 pm
illegal gun possession and asked for a diversion, we would quite frankly laugh them out of the office. on top of that, if you let the felonies run and the statute of limitations run on the felonies for the tax charges, i think it's likely we would've been accused of favoritism. you just don't do that. >> jason: yeah. really stunning. brett and matt, thank you for joining us tonight. californians reparations task force is making some unusual recommendations. leo terrel and michael shellenberger are here to react. stay with us.
6:35 pm
6:36 pm
6:37 pm
hi, i'm jason and i've lost 202 pounds on golo. so when i first started golo, i was expecting to lose around 40 pounds and then i just kept losing weight, and moving and moving and moving in a better direction. with golo and release, you're gonna lose the weight.
6:38 pm
>> jason: welcome back to the special edition of "hannity." a task force in california has
6:39 pm
been hard at work coming up with a recommended reparations package for the states black residents. the results are in. here are some of the highlights. first off, payments of almost $14,000 to every black resident for each year they have lived in the state to cover health care inequities. plus, guaranteed basic income for all descendants of slaves. next, the forgiveness of all outstanding child support debt since they disproportionately are owed by black fathers. then the commission wants police and probation officers banned from school campuses and a ban on traffic stops by police. and though full decriminalization of public urination, camping on the streets, and fare evasion on public transportation. plus, new authorities for anyone arrested for anyone arrested for
6:40 pm
those things to sue the police for inconveniencing them. here now with reaction are fox news contributor leo terrel and author michael shellenberger. all right, leo. you are crazy state of california, they are at it again. we do this every week, this is unbelievable. i don't know what getting out of paying child support has to do with making things right for slavery that happened a long time ago. >> you don't need me, jason. you just set it. this is ridiculous. this is a democratic, progressive, left-wing wish list to keep black voters in the democratic party. it has absolutely nothing to do with slavery, nothing to do with reparation. this is off the chart. all of that is racist, all of that is basically a wish list of things that will never happen.
6:41 pm
so i'm asking myself, why is it being done? because gavin newsom's obsession to run for president and lock up the black vote. it's utterly ridiculous and insulting to those black americans who believe in law and order, who believe in personal responsibility. it makes no sense at all. >> jason: michael, what's your take on this? >> i think it's right, it's really an extension of the idea that you can divide everybody in society into either being victims or oppressors. it is patronizing because of course they are putting all african americans in the category of victims which is insulting. it's degrading. it's racist. it's also not accounting for other forms of historical oppression. it's suggesting that the horrors of slavery which ended 160 euros zero are basically continuing to manifest in it that it's the most important thing in society and as you perform it og cruel measures to stop enforcing laws and increasing crime.
6:42 pm
people dying on the streets from drug addiction everyday here, all supposedly in the name of compassion. of course it's the most cruel thing you can do. the idea that they are going to expand this policy of cruelty in the name of fighting racism is offensive, and we should not allow it. >> jason: well said. i think -- it's 1100 pages of recommendations. i think there's $225 billion they want is a repercussion for the war on drugs. i just -- i mean, there's no end to it, is there, leo? >> no. i'll tell you right now i'm old enough to remember a prosecutor named kamala harris. she's not white. person of color who kept black prisoners in jail. use them for cheap labor. when she was the attorney general. there's also a very false assumption that the bogeyman is
6:43 pm
just white. and if there were people in of color and systemic issues of racism, it's being ignored. it's ridiculous and basically minimizes what the problem was. the problem is simply this. we are in a very blue, blue state that believes in left-wing progressive policies and an obsession to keep blacks within the democratic party no blacks in the democratic party, no democratic party. >> jason: last thought, michael. any other thoughts on this? >> well, we've just got to get beyond this thing of group oppression or group victimization. we are responsible for what we do. we are born into this world. we don't choose our families. we don't choose our bodies. don't choose our societies. we have to really make the case for people to overcome oppression rather than wallow in victimhood. >> jason: yeah. and making public urination
6:44 pm

6:48 pm
>> jason: welcome back to this special edition of "hannity." a large tornado broke out in alberta saturday and caught the attention of one risk-taking storm chaser. aaron followed the storm closely and films this terrifying video. have a look at this. >> stay alert! if you are downstream, a big tornado forming right now.
6:49 pm
it is about to touchdown. here comes the emergency crews. emergency crews. i am going to keep up with the storm. >> jason: joining us now is the storm chaser himself. aaron, you're a little bit nuts to get that close. it was quite the storm. that video is unbelievable. >> yeah. it was a major tornado here in canada. it was a rare tornado. violent tornado. only the second ef 4 tornado in alberta. it was the strongest one since 1987 in edmonton black friday. it was a major tornado. i got pretty close to it but one of the things here, i have to get close because one of the things i'm trying to do is capture this amazing 360 footage, virtual reality footage
6:50 pm
so i have to get these cameras really close to the tornado. after the fact when i got home and looked at the footage, i wished i had gotten a little bit closer. >> jason: aaron, come on. you can't get any closer to that thing. that's unbelievable. i hope nobody got hurt. i stand in awe of these types of things and as a wildlife photographer i love seeing this stuff. what was the sound like? these storms are violent but the sound, people say, is just unbelievable. >> that's right. the footage that you see. the closest i've got to it was the peak intensity of the tornado. it hit two homes. that's where the ef 4 damage occurred and i knew driving up to the tornado it was a strong tornado but when i got up closer i could see the wind and the debris being torn apart. the tiny little bits looked like glitter in the tornado. but the sound, as you mention, the roar. only the upper echelon, the strongest tornadoes have that

roar. you can't even describe it. it's like a waterfall mixed with a trained sound and debris being shredded. like i said, it looked like glitter. it was one of the most amazing things i've ever seen in my life. actually probably is the most amazing thing i've ever seen in my life after the birth of my son. >> jason: well, yeah, the birth of your son should be number one on your list. good answer. i hope everybody -- i feel for those people who lost their homes but i'm glad you're safe. aaron jajak, thanks for joining us. in other environmental news people seem to be talking about sharks more than ever this summer. after five people had suffered encounters with sharks that new york beaches this fourth of july weekend. authorities are taking extra precautions and using drones to monitor the waters. it's not just new york. a chilling video out of florida's panhandle shows a sharks swimming dangerously close to a large group of people. thankfully nobody was attacked. here to explain the rise in shark encounters this summer,

shark bite, this negative interaction, we don't hear about is all the times shark swims close to somebody and nobody gets bitten. video here we have a great hammerhead. there was a big shark in the water, people could see if nothing happened and the vast majority of times, that is the outcome, nothing happens. a lot of people are unaware there are sharks close to them. it's not too much of a secret. there's times that you'll be in the water and there was a shark that you didn't know was there and nothing happened. it's normally what the outcome is. >> jason: all right, toby. let's pretend for a second that you see a shark and you're in the water. what are you supposed to do? is the splashing and the urgency to get out of the water, does not cause more problems? or do you just try to calm and pretend nothing is wrong? >> any time you're in the water, you are in their environment. so while sharks may not be

interested necessarily in hunting humans, any time where in the same environment as they are, things can happen. and so you have warm water. you have a great summertime weather. lots of people on the beach. these things happen. like i said, now we are seeing this. but in reality, sharks and people have coexisted for as long as we've been around. you really don't hear too much about shark-human interactions in a normal year. we do have years where certain conditions lead to more interactions than others. we also have years where there are fewer interactions. >> jason: yannis, one of those sharks looking for? they are looking for food. the water is dirty because people are kicking up sand and whatnot. is it the smell? is it the scent? what are they trying to get to? >> a lot of sharks, they do hunt in shallow water. going back to the footage.

hammerheads will be hunting things like stingrays, sometimes they are hunting sharks. despite the large size of the hammerheads, they are not a threat to humans. you may be seeing in some cases where getting more of their prey coming closer to shore, scores of fish, it's going to be bringing them into habitats where we have more humans. going to see the overlap between the interaction between humans and sharks. >> jason: well, it is summer. the water is warm and shark week is about two weeks away. yannis and toby, thank you for sharing your expertise with us tonight on "hannity." more on this special edition of "hannity" when we come back. >> welcome back to the special
