morning from 50 cent. good evening. >> matt: good evening. he has a previous criminal history himself and is making headlines over a rather simple comment about bally's new bail policy. he wrote on instagram, l.a. is finished. watch how bad it gets out of there. shaking my head. he posted that caption while sharing a clip from a fox 11 l.a. report about the new nobel policy. here in l.a. county, police are no longer detaining people for crimes like theft, shoplifting, drug use, vandalism and many other nonviolent crimes and it means many people who are arrested for these crimes will be immediately released without paying any bail before their arraignment. the california judge who made the ruling important law enforcement officials to tell them why he should have not made the ruling but no one appealed and including the chief of police or district attorney george. an organization that helps victims heal from crimes is actually thinking 50 cents speaking out against the no bail

policy and argues more people need to stand up against no bail policies to protect victims of life-changing crimes. >> i have to 50 cent for speaking up because i think we need more of that. whether it is through hollywood, whether it is left is, however it is, we need to speak up and say something. if you had to go through something like that or your child, you would want to make sure there was bail. >> matt: the policy was previously enacted during covid to reduce the prison population. it expired and has been reinstated. progressives have argued that cash bail is unfair to low income suspects who historically don't have the funds to post bail and a recent study out of yolo county concluded that suspects released without bail were rearrested on 163% more charges than those who posted the bail, trace. >> trace: we will talk about that coming up. thank you. ♪ ♪

the fox news at night fox news at night common sense department understands that and the county is reinstating its no bail policy for nonviolent felonies. meaning nonviolent is an overstatement. let's call it no bail for sort of violent felonies. a smash and grab with the occasional punch in the face for noncooperating cashiers is bound to happen. the left will tell you that it is not constitutional to put somebody in jail because they can't afford bail. common sense wonders about that cashier that took a left to the jaw or all the other victims in these low-level felonies. what are their rights exactly? i know a store owner who lost $100,000 in a low-level felony. it seemed pretty high level for him. a call this policy zero bail. it is just catch and release. like the southern border policy where illegal immigrants are released on the promise that they appear in court and of course they don't. nobody ever goes after them. same goes for the low-level crime crowd. the yolo county california fda

said those conducted a recent study of how many people set free on zero bail re-offended. it was a 70%. 29% of those committed violent felonies. progressives will always tell you that more criminals on the street does not equate to more crime. common sense will always tell you that makes no sense. at all. let's bring informing l.a. county sheriff alex villanueva and brian claypool. gentlemen, welcome to you both. sheriff, you know, the judge in this case before making this decision gave chance for some of these officials, the d.a., the shares. to come forward and say their piece and fight against the zero bail. what you have stepped up and fought? >> alex: i would be first in line. it is anne raish. the sheriff is not independently elective -- elected. they are all in on the zero bail schedule. same thing with chief of police. works at the behest of the mayor. has gone, we don't have to worry about him and then the city attorney, same thing. so you got four people.

and no one other than the people that were pushing the lawsuit were the ones that were heard by the judge and the judge said, wait a minute, we need to hear from the other side and all they heard was crickets in the courtroom. >> trace: they did a little piece on this. i want to play a clip of that and i will get your opinion. watch. >> multiple times presidents in the l.a. neighborhood witnesses homeless man vandalize water pipes and cut utility lines without penalty. >> when you call the police, what did they say to you? >> they say that there's nothing they can really do. >> reporter: crime jumped almost 12% last year including tens of thousands of nonviolent crimes. burglaries, robberies, stolen cars. and the police are right but there's very little they can do and so the crime just goes on. >> brian: great to be with you. the police are demoralized. i was at a fundraiser. one of its former detectives was at a fundraiser. to have him -- he came up to me afterwards and he said what you are talked about.

he is like, i am done because i can't get my job -- i arrest somebody and they are back on the street the next day. the morale is at the bottom. it is at zero. >> trace: it is amazing. this is from the lawsuit and it reads, quoting here being jailed for even short periods of time may cause them to lose their jobs, their housing, or custody of their children. and i was kind of talking to brian about this during the break and the whole concept is, they never say these people did not commit the crimes. that is not about it, did they or did they not commit the crime. is all about the structural racism and the stuff that is involved in actually making them pay the bill. what do you make of how they frame these issues. >> alex: they look at the proposition on the ballot. at the proposition 20 where they were going to do away with cash bail. who were the ones that opposed the cash bail? the aclu and black lives matter because they were going to switch from cash bail to an algorithm that judge the ability to go back to court and criminal history is the number one

component of that and they said that was racist. you can't argue with these people or even rationalize with them with that mentality. program and the whole thing, you mentioned tommy and he has been on this show a number of times saying, you talked low-level crimes, right? and then suddenly it is $50,000 or below in bail. the numbers are always moving up and in the process of those numbers moving up, a lot of people end up getting hurt, brian. >> brian: yeah, trace, what you are seeing is the weaponization of the justice system on the local level, right? we have talked a lot about the doj on the federal level. but it is happening in people's own backyard. it is not going to be just l.a. now. it is going to be in other cities across the country. 2024, just like the sheriff s said, you mentioned the board of supervisors. they are in on it, too. so is the state attorney general who is buddies with gascon and the governor. so you're going to vote in 2024? do your research on the local candidates. and get educated and vote in

candidates who are going to enforce the law and restore public safety. >> trace: when they say putting more criminals on the street does not increase crime, what you say to that? >> alex: that is a sick joke. the more crooks that are in jail, the list they have the capacity to those to commit crime. they will cite all these weird studies that claim, by jailing them causes them to commit more crimes. i say bs on that. they are in jail. they can't commit the crime. that is the whole point of the jail system. can we reform them when they are jailed? yes. point is, if you don't hold them accountable, you have what you are seeing unfold in l.a. and san francisco throughout the west coast. >> trace: thank you both. meantime, law enforcement officials are warning that the public in -- an escaped inmate is "very dangerous and should not be approach. 34 old michael berman is said to have survival skills and military reserve training. jackie ibanez is live with the very latest on the manhunt. jackie, good evening. >> reporter: more than 50 local

and federal agencies are involved in the case at this point are mexico authorities say they are pushing the escaped convict hard and it is only a matter of time before they capture him. >> there have been a number of sightings. i cannot rule out conclusively every one of those. i believe that some point, we will force him to make a mistake and when he does, we will use that to our advantage. >> jackie: you see him there. he is the prime suspect in the killing of a new york woman. he faces a long list of charges. two states, police say he should be considered armed and dangerous. over a decade of experience in the army reserve. they also described him as a survivalist someone who could live for extended periods of time in the rough, wooded terrain and new york border. and he is likely getting outside help. meanwhile, in cleveland, the gunman who wanted nine people in a mass shooting on sunday is still on the loose tonight.

kinds of things. there's a broader plant which reveals not just the hypocrisy that they typically as in this case never live up to the rules that they expect. but the real point here is that it shows yet again that everything about joe biden is fake and fraudulent. they told us he was this kindly old guy. no, he is a foulmouthed bully who screams at his staff. that he is motivated by empathy because he is such a strong family man. he uses his family the whole time in his political arguments but look at how he is behaving towards his own grandchild, vicious behavior towards grandchild. they told us he was just a regular blue-collar guy. what has he done all his career, up to his neck in corrupt money from donors, ukraine, all over the place. he is a totally corrupt machine politician and those are the only things about him that are

with regard to joe biden's leadership on the world stage, he is confused, he is weak in the. lack of strategic thinking and also view franklin that biden is increasingly out of his mind as well. we saw that with his visit to windsor castle earlier today. which was actually an extraordinary hour or so there where joe biden had to be led around by king charles iii. so i think that biden in the eyes of the british public, british people, british parliament is all over the place frankly. >> trace: i would like to expand on that. this is what the daily mail said about the visit you were talking about. king charles appeared to briefly lose his patience when he got president joe biden to move along during their meeting on monday. he appeared reluctant to end his conversation when charles tried to get him to stop talking during their inspection of the welsh guards in the middle of a welcome ceremony.

the new york times is heralding one medical school's use of an adverse the scoring to determine who will be accepted in their program. how different is this from affirmative action, which of the supreme court put an end to earlier this month. let's bring in dr. houman hemmati, phd research scientist. the new terms says the foll following, dr. hemmati, welcome to you. the scale rates every applicant from zero to 99 taking into account their life circumstances such as family income and parental education. the washington examiner says, quoting, nobody benefits from receiving the most disadvantaged doctor possible when seeking care. people come to doctors when they need a problem solved. where do you fall on this, doctor? >> dr. hemmati: is a good question. i was on the ucla medical school's committee. i even wrote a book of it. i said, this is an area that is near and dear to my heart. the school in question is uc

davis. uc davis is located in the central valley of california. the school has a mandate to create primary care doctors who are going to stay in practice in the local community. they don't want to train people who are going to become beverly hills cosmetic surgeons. it is more of a harm to the people there. that particular school is doing that because they are trying to attract doctors that are going to stay in the area and practice. that said, i think it make sense to improve that should it be the only factor? no. can it be a factor especially if it is not tied to race and it is aligned to who you are? sure, as long as they allow people in who are actually qualified to take unqualified people would not make any sense. i think that would be appropriate. that is, i think their premise. >> trace: and i think a lot of people are saying they are not quite sure how much of that is based on this. how much of the overall acceptance is based on just this one part of it. that is a good question. so let's talk about that rot rotting.
